Effect of Heat Input on the microstructure and Properties of Dissimilar Weld Joint Between Incoloy 28 and Superaustenitic Stainless Steel

Abstract This work focuses on studying the effect of welding heat input within the range from 1 to 5 kJ/mm on the microstructure and the corresponding mechanical and corrosion properties of dissimilar joint between superaustenitic stainless steel （UNS S31254） and Incoloy 28 （UNS N08028）. The two materials were butt-welded with ER NiCrmo3. The metallurgical changes associated with welding of SASS and Incoloy 28 were studied using optical microscope, SEm, and EDX. The mechanical and corrosion properties were investigated using tensile test, Vickers hardness test, and pitting and crevice corrosion tests. The weld metal microstructure showed precipitates with needle-like shape at 3 and 5 kJ/mm. Also, the microstructure showed unmixed zone （UmZ） at the fusion line of both SASS and Incoloy 28 sides at all the investigated heat inputs. The mo microsegregation within UmZ at Incoloy 28 side increased as the heat input increased from 1 to 5 k J/ram but that in SASS increased with increasing heat input from 1 to 3 kJ/mm and then decreased with increasing from 3 to 5 kJ/mm. The ultimate tensile strengths for all specimens at all the investigated heat inputs are acceptable. The average hardness noticeably changed in weld metal as the heat input increased from 1 to 5 kJ/mm. Other zones such as HAZ or UmZ did not demonstrate marked changes in the average hardness. The pitting and crevice corrosion rates of the weld joint were found significant at l and 3 kJ/mm but insignificant at 5 kJ/mm according to ASTm G48.

BACKGROUND Proton pump inhibitors are often used to prevent gastro-intestinal lesions induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory ***,they are not always effective against both gastric and duodenal lesions and their use is not devoid of side *** To explore the mechanisms mediating the clinical efficacy of STW 5 in gastroduodenal lesions induced by nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs),exemplified here by diclofenac,in a comparison to *** Gastro-duodenal lesions were induced in rats by oral administration of diclofenac(5 mg/kg)for 6 successive *** group was given concurrently STW 5(5 mL/kg)while another was given omeprazole(20 mg/kg).A day later,animals were sacrificed,stomach and duodenum excised and divided into 2 segments:One for histological examination and one for measuring inflammatory mediators(tumor necrosis factorα,interleukins-1βand 10),oxidative stress enzyme(heme oxygenase-1)and apoptosis regulator(B-cell lymphoma 2).RESULTS Diclofenac caused overt histological damage in both tissues,associated with parallel changes in all parameters *** 5 and omeprazole effectively prevented these changes,but STW 5 superseded omeprazole in protecting against histological damage,particularly in the *** The findings support the therapeutic usefulness of STW 5 and its superiority over omeprazole as adjuvant therapy to NSAIDs to protect against their possible gastro-duodenal side effects.

The aim of the present communication is to discuss the analytical solution for the unsteady flow of a third grade fluid which occupies the space y 〉 0 over an infinite porous plate. The flow is generated due to the motion of the plate in its own plane with an impulsive velocity V（t）. Translational symmetries in variables t and y are utilized to reduce the governing non-linear partial differential equation into an ordinary differential equation. The reduced problem is then solved using homotopy analysis method（HAm）. Graphs representing the solution are plotted and discussed and proper conclusions are drawn.

Purpose:To compare cartilage tympanoplasty(CT)combined with eustachian tube balloon dilatation(ETBD)and cartilage tympanoplasty alone as a surgical treatment modality for adhesive otitis media(AdOm)in terms of graft healing,audiological outcomes,and impact on life style,using Chronic Otitis media Outcome Test 15(COmOT-15).methods:50 patients with AdOm were randomly classified into 2 groups:25 patients for cartilage tympanoplasty only(CT group)and 25 patients for cartilage tympanoplasty combined with eustachian tube balloon dilatation(CT t ETBD group).Clinical outcomes in both groups were compared at 3 and 6 months of follow ***:There was no significant difference in graft healing between the two *** COmOT-15 scores significantly decreased in both groups with a significant difference between the groups with regard to the decrease in COmOT-15 scores at 3 and 6 months of follow-up(Pmprovement was achieved,as the mean preoperative ABG was 26.5±5.4 and 27.1±4.6 dB,and the mean postoperative ABG at 6 months was 19.4±4.4 and 14.6±3.9 dB in the CT and the CT t ETBD groups,*** difference in the magnitude of ABG reduction in the two groups was significant at 3 and 6 months of postoperative follow-up(Pmpanoplasty in patients with AdOm by enhancing the audiological outcome and quality of life.

Azidation of aminothiophene derivative 1 afforded the corresponding azido derivative *** latter reacted with triphenylphosphine to afford iminophosphorane derivatives *** 3 with phenylisocyanate gave the highly reactive carbodiimide intermediate 4,which was reacted with different nitrones to afford new l,2,4-oxadiazolidin-5-ylidene-aminothiophenes 5a-c. Treatment of 4 with absolute EtOH at room temperature gave methyleneamino-5-（methylthio）thiophene 7,（methylthio）-3-（3- phenylureidothiophene）-2-carboxylate 8 or thienopyrimidine 9 and 10 at refluxing *** reaction of carbodiimide intermediate 4 with different secondary amines gave the new thienopyrimidines 11a-c.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of Lactobacillus acidophilus（LAC）, exogenous enzymes of ZAD（exogenous enzyme preparation） or their combination on feed conversion, and dressing of rabbits fed different treatments of sugarcane bagasse（SCB）. Five rations were allotted randomly to five groups of New-Zealand White（NZW） rabbits（n=10） with initial live body weight of（838±42.4） g and 5 weeks of age. Rabbits were fed on diets with different sources of fiber as follows,（i） a control diet composed of 100% berseem hay and 0% SCB,（ii） 50% berseem hay and 50% untreated SCB（USCB）,（iii） 50% berseem hay and 50% SCB treated with L. acidophilus（LAC）,（iv） 50% berseem hay and 50% SCB treated with ZAD（ZAD）, and（v） 50% berseem hay and 50% SCB treated with a combination of LAC＋ZAD（LZ）. Treatments of SCB with L. acidophilus, ZAD and LAC＋ZAD had the highest feed conversion ratio than both USCB and control. The dressing percentage of rabbits that fed the LAC and LZ diets was higher（P〈0.05） compared with that in the other groups. Performance index（PI） for LAC group was improved（P〈0.05） compared to that for the other groups; however, PI for USCB group was the lowest（P〈0.05）. It could be concluded that treating SCB with L. acidophilus, exogenous enzymes of ZAD or their combination improved feed conversion and performance with more positive effects with L. acidophilus than the other treatments.

The booming market of flexible electronic displays has urged the development of highly flexible transparent conductive electrodes(FTCE)1–3 with the ability to replace indium tin oxide(ITO)thin films routinely used as transparent conductive electrodes in photoelectronic *** high cost of indium and the poor mechanical stability of ITO under deformation are the main driving forces behind the development of this research area.4 The use of metal nanomeshes as FTCE is a promising concept with a real potential to substitute ITO in photoelectronic devices.5,6 However,the development of a low-cost fabrication approach allowing producing metal nanomesh electrodes with competitive prices and a high performance remains a real bottleneck for the photoelectronic *** this paper,we report on a robust approach very easy to implement allowing producing highly flexible metal nanomesh electrodes with high performance at a very low *** approach lies on a concept consisting in applying dealloying process to ultra-thin Au-Cu alloy thin films using acidic vapors instead of a liquid phase as routinely done in the *** an appropriate procedure,the nanomeshes can be transferred to any planar or curved support where they can serve as a *** a proof of concept,we demonstrate that using this approach,one can easily fabricate gold nanomesh electrodes transferred onto polyethylene terephthalate(PET)film surface with 79%of transmittance and a sheet resistance as low as 44Ω□^(−1) while maintaining exceptional stability under severe mechanical deformations.

This The mineral potential in Egypt is quite high. Almost all sorts of industrial minerals such as metallic and non-metallic commodities exist in commercial amounts. However, Egypt imports many of the mineral commodities needed for the local mineral industries. The main reason for this is that the investors, either the governmental or the private sectors, refrain from investing into the mineral industry for prospecting, evaluation, and developing the mining and mineral processing technologies. This is because the return on investment in the mining industry is generally low and the pay back period is relatively long compared with easy-to-get money projects. Another reason is the disarray of the mining laws and regulations and lack of administrative capability to deal with domestic and international investors and solve the related problems. Also, lack of skilled personnel in the field of mining and mineral processing is an additional factor for the set back of the mining industry in Egypt. This is why the mining technology in Egypt is not very far from being primitive and extremely simple, with the exception of the underground mining of coal, North of Sinai, and Abu-Tartur phosphate mining, where fully automated long wall operations are designed. Also, the recent gold and tin-tantalum-niobium projects are being designed on modern surface mining and mineral processing technologies. The present review presents an overview of the most important metallic mineral commodities in Egypt, their geological background, reserves and production rates. A brief mention of the existing technologies for their exploitation is also highlighted.
