3-Bromopyruvate(3BP) is a new, promising anticancer alkylating agent with several notable functions. In addition to inhibiting key glycolysis enzymes including hexokinase II and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH), 3BP also selectively inhibits mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, angiogenesis, and energy production in cancer cells. Moreover, 3BP induces hydrogen peroxide generation in cancer cells(oxidative stress effect) and competes with the LDH substrates pyruvate and lactate. There is only one published human clinical study showing that 3BP was effective in treating fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma. LDH is a good measure for tumor evaluation and predicts the outcome of treatment better than the presence of a residual tumor mass. According to the Warburg effect, LDH is responsible for lactate synthesis, which facilitates cancer cell survival, progression, aggressiveness, metastasis, and angiogenesis. Lactate produced through LDH activity fuels aerobic cell populations inside tumors via metabolic symbiosis. In melanoma, the most deadly skin cancer, 3BP induced necrotic cell death in sensitive cells, whereas high glutathione(GSH) content made other melanoma cells resistant to 3BP. Concurrent use of a GSH depletor with 3BP killed resistant melanoma cells. Survival of melanoma patients was inversely associated with high serum LDH levels, which was reported to be highly predictive of melanoma treatment in randomized clinical trials. Here, we report a 28-year-old man presented with stage IV metastatic melanoma affecting the back, left pleura, and lung. The disease caused total destruction of the left lung and a high serum LDH level(4,283 U/L). After ethics committee approval and written patient consent, the patient received 3BP intravenous infusions(1-2.2 mg/kg), but the anticancer effect was minimal as indicated by a high serum LDH level. The current study was performed to evaluate the liver function status as well as molecular characterization of the recovered worms in rats experimentally infected with F. hepatica. Sixteen male Wister rats aged 30 days were randomly allocated into two groups (n = 8). The first group was infected orally with 15 viable encysted metacercaria of F. hepatica per animal. The other group was kept non-infected (control group). At zero time (before infection), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th weeks post-infection (WPI), blood and serum samples were collected via puncture of retro-orbital plexus of veins from each rat. Serum enzyme level (AST and ALT) and total protein were measured, and the serum protein profile was carried out using agarose gel electrophoresis. During the period of the experiment, serum ALT and AST activities and serum total globulins significantly increased while serum total proteins and albumin markedly decreased in the infected group. On the 14th WPI, the data of the electropherogram showed that globulin fractions (α1-, β- and γ-globulin) levels were significantly increased while α2-globulin was markedly decreased in the infected group. The molecular analysis confirmed the amplification of the ITS1, ITS2 and NDI genes of F. hepatica recovered from the infected liver of rats with amplicon sizes of 630, 510 and 560 bp, respectively. Sequencing of the amplified ITS gene resulted in the determination of 3 strains (PP108836, PP108837, and PP108838). Also, analysis of the ITS2 gene resulted in obtaining 3 isolates under the accession numbers (PP109065, PP109066, and PP109067). In conclusion, fasciolosis in the rat model is suitable for routine experimental infections and caused a pronounced liver dysfunction with discharging of the Fasciola eggs in the faeces and the development of adult stages in the bile ducts. The human and bovine lactoferrin have been studied extensively, but very few reports have been published concerning camel lactoferrin (cLf). The present study aimed to isolate cLf and evaluate its efficiency including antimicrobial activity and immunomodulator effects. cLf isolation was attempted from camel milk whey using a cation exchange chromatography by SP-Sepharose. The antimicrobial activity of the isolated cLf was investigated against Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), Streptococcus agalactiae (S. agalactiae), Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aerogenosa) strains. The immune effect of cLf was studied by lymphocyte transformation test. It was found that cLf was separated around molecular weight of 80 kDa and showed significant inhibitory effect against E. coli followed by P. aeruginosa, S. agalactiae and S. aureus. cLf increased lymphocyte transformations mean values in a dose dependant manner. The highest transformations mean value was determined at 50 μg/mL. In conclusion, these results suggest that cLf is a potent natural antimicrobial and novel immunomodulator agent.

Since reporting cases of breast cancer are on the rise all over the *** in regions such as Pakistan,Saudi Arabia,and the United *** methods for the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer are *** usual diagnosis procedures followed by physicians has been updated with modern diagnostic approaches that include computer-aided support for better *** learning based practices has increased the accuracy and efficiency of medical diagnosis,which has helped save lives of many *** is much research in the field of medical imaging diagnostics that can be applied to the variety of data such as magnetic resonance images(MRIs),mammograms,X-rays,ultrasounds,and histopathological images,but magnetic resonance(MR)and mammogram imaging have proved to present the promising *** proposed paper has presented the results of classification algorithms over Breast Cancer(BC)mammograms from a novel dataset taken from hospitals in the Qassim health cluster of Saudi *** paper has developed a novel approach called the novel spectral extraction algorithm(NSEA)that uses feature extraction and fusion by using local binary pattern(LBP)and bilateral algorithms,as well as a support vector machine(SVM)as a *** NSEA with the SVM classifier demonstrated a promising accuracy of 94%and an elapsed time of 0.68 milliseconds,which were significantly better results than those of comparative experiments from classifiers named Naïve Bayes,logistic regression,K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN),Gaussian Discriminant Analysis(GDA),AdaBoost and Extreme Learning Machine(elM).elM produced the comparative accuracy of 94%however has a lower elapsed time of 1.35 as compared to *** has produced a fairly well accuracy of 82%,KNN has a low accuracy of 66%.However Logistic Regression,GDA and Naïve Bayes have produced the lowest accuracies of 47%,43%and 42%.

【目的】2008～2009、2009～2010年分别在埃及el-Sharkia省Zankalon研究站进行不同灌溉和氮肥水平对甜菜产量、品质及水分指标的影响试验。【方法】采用裂区设计,分别设3个灌溉处理即I1(60%田间持水量)、I2(80%田间持水量)和I3(100%田间持水量)和3个施肥处理即N1(50kgN/fed)、N2(70kgN/fed)和N3(90kgN/fed)。【结果】灌水处理I1的甜菜块根和糖产量最高、根径最大,其次为处理I2,处理I3的最低。随着灌溉水平的提高,甜菜块根长和蔗糖含量明显下降。当施用90kgN/fed氮肥,甜菜根长、根径、块根和糖产量明显提高,但糖分则有所降低。灌溉和施氮肥处理均对蔗糖纯度没有明显影响。3个灌溉处理I1、I2和I3的水分利用量分别为3579.7、3042.0和2504.0m2/fed,季节耗水量分别为58.12、52.06和47.29cm,而甜菜块根产量、糖产量的水分利用率分别为15.86、13.78、13.35kg块根/m3水和2.73、2.61and2.56kg糖/m3水。随着施氮水平的提高,获得一定甜菜根产量和糖产量,所需的实际耗水量和水分利用率也不断提高。在东尼罗河三角洲地区的甜菜平均季节作物系数为0.87。【结论】可在东尼罗河三角洲地区推荐使用Kc经验值来计算耗水量。

GIS is a computerized database management system that provides geographic access (capture, storage, retrieval, analysis and display) to spatial data. Civil Engineering projects involve the management, analysis and integration of large amounts of geographic information to ensure success. This can include a wide range of information such as detailed design drawings originating from CAD solutions, detailed mapping, air photography, geological investigations, population information, traffic flows and environmental models. Although there are some similarities between CAD and GIS there are many differences. The most fundamental difference is that GIS mode is the world as it exists, whereas CAD models artifacts yet to be produced. As a result the data manipulated by a GIS is an order of magnitude larger and more complex than CAD systems have to deal with, and the nature of the data, its sources and its uses are quite different. In this paper, the selected area was Nahrain University. Many data were saved on the site map as a transparence layers built by using AutoCAD (2006). Then a digital library was built for the selected area and many data were saved on the site map as a themes built by using ArcView software.

A new approach for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems was *** approach is based on assigning powers to the different subcarriers of OFDM using an unequal power distribution *** addition,a reduced complexity selective mapping (RC-SLM) scheme was *** proposed scheme is based on partitioning the frequency domain symbol sequence into several sub-blocks,and then each sub-block is multiplied by different phase sequences whose length is shorter than that used in the conventional SLM ***,a kind of low complexity conversions is used to replace the IFFT *** performance of the proposed RC-SLM scheme along with the new approach was studied with computer *** obtained results show that the proposed RC-SLM scheme is able to achieve the lowest computational complexity when compared with other low complexity schemes proposed in the literature while at the same time improves the PAPR reduction performance by about 0.3 dB.

Many analytic strategies have emerged to estimate plant responses to Fusarium wilt. The demand for fast and reliable method （diagnosis, prediction） to determine isolate strength accurately is not established yet. Early determination of pathogen strength helps in plant medication. The aim of this study was to develop a faster strategy and method for early determination of fungal isolates strength in correlation to plant response. Till now, the scientists have no consensus on the most correlated parameters that could express wilt precisely. In this study, 30 isolates of Fusarium oxysporum isolated from Lupinus termis L. were used to provide an explicit image about the real strength of Fusarium isolates and its impact on the plant. Wilting percentage ranged from 26.67% to 93.33% of the infected plants depending on isolate virulence. Some of cellular, morphological and physical measurements were conducted on 8 out of 30 isolates, including root （length, fresh weight （FW） and dry weight （DW））, nodules （water content （WC）, FW, DW）, stem （height, WC, FW, DW）, total leaves/plant （WC, FW, DW） and the fourth leaf （WC, FW, DW, leaf area, epidermal cell area, epidermal cell number, succulence）. Hierarchical clustering was used to determine the variance between the isolates. Detrended correspondence analysis （DCA） and canonical correspondence analysis （CCA） were used to determine the most important growth parameters that could express wilting accurately. The CCA results showed that most of the measured parameters on the fourth leaf, except for leaf epidermal cell number, were highly and positively correlated to wilt. That makes these specific parameters valuable and sensitive for any changes in isolates strength. Accordingly, a mathematical model was created to be helpful in the quick determination of isolate strength and precise medication.
