Comparative efficacy of proximal femoral nail vs dynamic condylar screw in treating unstable intertrochanteric fractures

BACKGROUND Among the most frequent hip fractures are trochanteric fractures,which usually occur from low-energy trauma like minor falls,especially in older people with osteoporotic *** To evaluate the treatment efficacy of dynamic condylar screws(DCS)and proximal femoral nails(PFN)for unstable intertrochanteric *** To find pertinent randomized controlled trials and retrospective observational studies comparing PFN with DCS for the management of unstable femoral intertrochanteric fractures,a thorough search was carried *** research studies published between January 1996 and April 2024,PubMed,eMBASe,Scopus,Web of Science,Cochrane Library,and Google Scholar were all *** complete texts of the papers were retrieved,vetted,and independently examined by two *** were settled by consensus,and any disagreements that persisted were arbitrated by a third *** This study included six articles,comprising a total of 173 *** to the DCS,the PFN had a shorter operation time[mean difference(MD):-41.7 min,95%confidence interval(95%CI):-63.04 to-20.35,P=0.0001],higher success rates with closed reduction techniques[risk ratio(RR):34.05,95%CI:11.12-104.31,Pequired less intraoperative blood transfusion(MD:-1.4 units,95%CI:-1.80 to-1.00,Pe PFN showed shorter fracture union time(MD:-6.92 wk,95%CI:-10.27 to-3.57,Per incidence of reoperation(RR:0.37,95%CI:0.17-0.82,P=0.01).However,there was no discernible variation regarding hospital stay,implant-related complications,and *** Compared to DCS,PFN offers shorter operative times,reduces the blood transfusions requirements,achieves higher closed reduction success,enables faster fracture healing,and lowers reoperation incidence.

With the rapid development in business transactions,especially in recent years,it has become necessary to develop different mechanisms to trace business user records in web server log in an efficient *** business transactions have increased,especially when the user or customer cannot obtain the required *** example,with the spread of the epidemic Coronavirus(COVID-19)throughout the world,there is a dire need to rely more on online business *** order to improve the efficiency and performance of e-business structure,a web server log must be well utilized to have the ability to trace and record infinite user *** paper proposes an event stream mechanism based on formula patterns to enhance business processes and record all user activities in a structured log *** user activity is recorded with a set of tracing parameters that can predict the behavior of the user in business *** experimental results are conducted by applying clustering-based classification algorithms on two different datasets;namely,Online Shoppers Purchasing Intention and Instacart Market Basket *** clustering process is used to group related objects into the same cluster,then the classification process measures the predicted classes of clustered *** experimental results record provable accuracy in predicting user preferences on both datasets.

Anti-perovskites A3SnO(A=Ca,Sr,and Ba)are an important class of materials due to the emergence of Dirac cones and tiny mass gaps in their band structures originating from an intricate interplay of crystal symmetry,spin–orbit coupling,and band *** provides an exciting playground for modulating their electronic properties in the two-dimensional(2D)***,we employ first-principles density functional theory(DFT)calculations by combining dispersion-corrected SCAN+rVV10 and mBJ functionals for a comprehensive side-by-side comparison of the structural,thermodynamic,dynamical,mechanical,electronic,and thermoelectric properties of bulk and monolayer(one unit cell thick)A3SnO *** results show that 2D monolayers derived from bulk A3SnO anti-perovskites are structurally and energetically ***,Rashba-type splitting in the electronic structure of Ca3SnO and Sr3SnO monolayers is observed owing to strong spin–orbit coupling and inversion *** the other hand,monolayer Ba3SnO exhibits Dirac cone at the high-symmetryΓpoint due to the domination of band *** on the predicted electronic transport properties,it is shown that inversion asymmetry plays an essential character such that the monolayers Ca3SnO and Sr3SnO outperform thermoelectric performance of their bulk counterparts.

The diversity of data sources resulted in seeking effective manipulation and *** challenge that arises from the increasing dimensionality has a negative effect on the computation performance,efficiency,and stability of *** of the most successful optimization algorithms is Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)which has proved its effectiveness in exploring the highest influencing features in the search space based on its fast convergence and the ability to utilize a small set of parameters in the search *** research proposes an effective enhancement of PSO that tackles the challenge of randomness search which directly enhances PSO *** the other hand,this research proposes a generic intelligent framework for early prediction of orders delay and eliminate orders backlogs which could be considered as an efficient potential solution for raising the supply chain *** proposed adapted algorithm has been applied to a supply chain dataset which minimized the features set from twenty-one features to ten significant *** confirm the proposed algorithm results,the updated data has been examined by eight of the well-known classification algorithms which reached a minimum accuracy percentage equal to 94.3%for random forest and a maximum of 99.0 for Naïve ***,the proposed algorithm adaptation has been compared with other proposed adaptations of PSO from the literature over different *** proposed PSO adaptation reached a higher accuracy compared with the literature ranging from 97.8 to 99.36 which also proved the advancement of the current research.

Assessing the effects of site factors on the productivity of a feller buncher:a time and motion analysis

We evaluated,for the first time in Turkey,the productivity of a feller buncher during clear-cut operations of two Brutian pine stands located in Canakkale,northwestern Turkey with different diameter classes and terrain *** the first stand with 24.6 cm average DBH,the feller buncher cut full trees and moved them to *** the second stand with 34.3 cm average DBH,the feller buncher cut trees in two stages due to their larger diameters and the relatively steep and rough terrain conditions of the *** effects of specific stand features,DBH and tree height measurements were assessed through statistical analysis in relation to *** results indicate that the average productivity for the first stand was about 118 m^3h^-1,while it was about 80 m3h-1 in the second *** though tree diameter and volume were higher in the second stand,productivity decreased by32.3%due to extra time spent on the two-stage cutting *** results revealed that harvesting operations should be planned carefully and the right equipment selected by accounting for different tree sizes,terrain conditions and machine specifications in order to better understand their effects on production.

Improving the electrochemical performance of α-MoO_(3) electrode using aluminium trifluoromethanesulfonate water-in-salt electrolyte

Orthorhombic molybdenum trioxide(α-MoO_(3)) electrode material experiences severe capacity fading and poor cycling stability in aqueous *** investigated the charge-storage performance of α-MoO_(3) electrode in aluminium trifluoromethanesulfonate(Al(OTf)_(3))-based salt-in-water electrolyte(SiWe) and water-in-salt electrolyte(WiSe).It was found that α-MoO_(3) electrode exhibits significantly different cycling stabilities in both electrolytes with capacity retentions of 8% using the former and87% using the *** is because α-MoO_(3) electrode maintains its crystal structure upon cycling in WiSe,but experiences substantial structural collapses and partial dissolution upon cycling in *** behaviour was inferred from both operando electrogravimetry and ex situ *** results suggest that the predominant charge-storage mechanism in a-MoO_(3) electrode using WiSe is the intercalation of protons produced from electrolyte hydrolysis with some contribution from surface pseudocapacitance enabled by Al3+ions.A two-volt full cell fabricated from α-MoO_(3) electrode as anode and copper hexacyanoferrate(CuHCF) electrode as cathode using WiSe delivers volumetric and gravimetric energies of 10.4 Wh/L and 26.5 Wh/kg,respectively,with 78% capacity retention after 2500 *** study provides an insightful understanding of the electrochemical performance of α-MoO_(3) electrode in Al(OTf)_(3)-based electrolytes.

The authenticity and integrity of healthcare is the primary *** reversible watermarking schemes have been developed to improve the primary objective but increasing the quantity of embedding data leads to covering image distortion and visual quality resulting in data security detection.A trade-off between robustness,imperceptibility,and embedded capacity is difficult to achieve with current algorithms due to limitations in their *** this purpose insight,an improved reversibility watermarking methodology is proposed to maximize data embedding capacity and imperceptibility while maintaining data security as a primary concern.A key is generated by a random path with minimum bit flipping is selected in the 4 × 4 block to gain access to the data embedding *** random path's complex structure ensures data *** of various sizes(8 KB,16 KB,32 KB)are used to analyze image imperceptibility and evaluate quality *** proposed reversible watermarking methodology performance is tested under standard structures PSNR,SSIM,and *** results revealed that the MRI watermarked images are imperceptible,like the cover image when LSB is 3 bits *** proposed reversible watermarking methodology outperforms other related techniques in terms of average PSNR(49.29).experiment results show that the suggested reversible watermarking method improves data embedding capacity and imperceptibility compared to existing state-of-the-art approaches.

Transfer Learning-based Computer-aided Diagnosis System for Predicting Grades of Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic retinopathy(DR)diagnosis through digital fundus images requires clinical experts to recognize the presence and importance of many intricate *** task is very difficult for ophthalmologists and ***,many computer-aided diagnosis(CAD)systems were developed to automate this screening process *** this paper,aCAD-DR system is proposed based on preprocessing and a pre-train transfer learningbased convolutional neural network(PCNN)to recognize the five stages of DR through retinal fundus *** develop this CAD-DR system,a preprocessing step is performed in a perceptual-oriented color space to enhance the DR-related lesions and then a standard pre-train PCNN model is improved to get high classification *** architecture of the PCNN model is based on three main ***,the training process of the proposed PCNN is accomplished by using the expected gradient length(eGL)to decrease the image labeling efforts during the training of the CNN ***,themost informative patches and images were automatically selected using a few pieces of training labeled ***,the PCNN method generated useful masks for prognostication and identified regions of ***,the DR-related lesions involved in the classification task such as micro-aneurysms,hemorrhages,and exudates were detected and then used for recognition of *** PCNN model is pre-trained using a high-end graphical processor unit(GPU)on the publicly available Kaggle *** obtained results demonstrate that the CAD-DR system outperforms compared to other state-of-the-art in terms of sensitivity(Se),specificity(SP),and accuracy(ACC).On the test set of 30,000 images,the CAD-DR system achieved an average Se of 93.20%,SP of 96.10%,and ACC of 98%.This result indicates that the proposed CAD-DR system is appropriate for the screening of the severity-level of DR.

Generalized thermoelastic interaction in functional graded material with fractional order three-phase lag heat transfer

The present work is concerned with the solution of a problem on thermoelastic interactions in a functional graded material due to thermal shock in the context of the fractional order three-phase lag model. The governing equations of fractional order generalized thermoelasticity with three-phase lag model for functionally graded materials(FGM)(i.e., material with spatially varying material properties) are established. The analytical solution in the transform domain is obtained by using the eigenvalue *** inversion of Laplace transform is done numerically. The graphical results indicate that the fractional parameter has significant effects on all the physical quantities. Thus, we can consider the theory of fractional order generalized thermoelasticity an improvement on studying elastic materials.
