Rena. tra.spla.t pa.ients receive severa. immunosuppressive drug regimens tha. a.e potentia.ly nephrotoxic for *** crea.inine is the sta.da.d for monitoring kidney function;however,cysta.in C(Cys C)a.d kidney injury molecule-1(KIM-1)ha.e been found to indica.e kidney injury ea.lier tha. serum crea.inine a.d provide a.better reflection of kidney ***,we a.sessed Cys C a.d KIM-1 serum levels in rena. tra.spla.t pa.ients receiving mycophenola.e mofetil,ta.rolimus,sirolimus,everolimus,or cyclosporine to eva.ua.e kidney *** used both the Chronic Kidney Disea.e Epidemiology Colla.ora.ion(CKD-EPI)2021 equa.ion,which is ba.ed on crea.inine a.d combined crea.inine with Cys C,a.d the CKD-EPI 2012 equa.ion,which is ba.ed on Cys C a.one,to estima.e glomerula. filtra.ion ra.e(GFR).Then,we a.sessed the a.socia.ion between serum KIM-1 a.d GFRa.tly higher serum Cys C levels in pa.ients with the eleva.ed serum crea.inine,compa.ed with those with norma. serum *** estima.ed GFRs ba.ed on crea.inine were significa.tly higher tha. those ba.ed on the other equa.ions,while a.significa.t positive correla.ion wa. observed a.ong a.l *** KIM-1 levels were nega.ively correla.ed with the estima.ed GFRs by the CKD-EPI Cys C a.d the combined crea.inine with Cys C equa.ions.a.serum KIM-1 level a.ove 0.71 ng/mL is likely to indica.e GFRa.significa.t correla.ion between serum crea.inine a.d Cys C in our rena. tra.spla.t ***,serum KIM-1 ma. be used to monitor rena. function when using potentia.ly nephrotoxic drugs in rena. tra.spla.ts.

We report the observa.ion of a.newborn from a.non-consa.guineous ma.ria.e, a.mitted to the neona.ology a.d neona.a. intensive ca.e unit a. Da. 1 of life for a.poly-ma.forma.ive syndrome. Ba.KGROUND Pa.crea.icoduodenectomy(PD)is a.technica.ly complex opera.ion,with a.re-la.ively high risk for *** a.ility to rescue pa.ients from post-PD complica.ions is a. a.recognized qua.ity *** protocols were instituted a. our low volume fa.ility in the yea. *** To document the ra.e of rescue from post-PD complica.ions with ta.lored protocols in pla.e a. a.mea.ure of *** a.retrospective a.dit wa. performed to collect da.a.from pa.ients who experienced ma.or post-PD complica.ions a. a.low volume pa.crea.ic surgery unit in Trinida. a.d Toba.o between Ja.ua.y 1,2013 a.d June 30,***-da.dized definitions from the Interna.iona. Study Group of Pa.crea.ic Surgery were used to define post-PD complica.ions,a.d the modified Cla.ien-Dindo cla.sifica.ion wa. used to cla.sify post-PD *** Over the study period,113 pa.ients a. a.mea. a.e of 57.5 yea.s(sta.da.d devia.ion[SD]±9.23;ra.ge:30-90;media.:56)underwent PDs a. this *** complica.ions were recorded in 33(29.2%)pa.ients a. a.mea. a.e of 53.8 yea.s(SD:±7.9).Twenty-nine(87.9%)pa.ients who experienced ma.or morbidity were sa.va.ed a.ter a.gre-ssive trea.ment of their ***(3.5%)died from bleeding pseudoa.eurysm(1),septic shock seconda.y to a.bile lea.(1),a.a.tomotic lea.(1),a.d myoca.dia. infa.ction(1).There wa. a.significa.tly grea.er sa.va.e ra.e in pa.ients with a.erica. Society of a.esthesiologists scores≤2(93.3%vs 25%;P=0.0024).CONCLUSION This pa.er a.ds to the growing body of evidence tha. volume a.one should not be used a. a.ma.ker of qua.ity for pa.ients requiring *** low volumes a. our fa.ility,we demonstra.ed tha. 87.9%of pa.ients were rescued from ma.or *** a.tributed this to severa. fa.tors including development of rescue protocols,the competence of the pa.crea.ic surgery tea.s a.d continuous,a.d a.a.tive lea.ning by the entire institution,cul-mina.ing in the development of ta.lored peri-pa.crea.ectomy protoc
