Dosimetric Comparison of Amorphous Silicon EPID and 2D Array Detector for Pre-Treatment Verification of Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy

Purpose: To study the dosimetric characteristics of amorphous silicon Electronic Portal Imag.ng.Device EPID and 2D array detector for dose verification of radiotherapy treatment plans, and the quality assurance QA testing.of IMRT was investig.ted. Materials and methods: All measurements were done with Varian IX linear accelerator, aSi-1000 EPID and 2D array detector. The dose linearity, reproducibility, output factors, dose rate, SDD and response with slap phantom thickness have been measured and compared ag.inst those measured by ion chamber. Results: The characteristics of EPID and 2D array: the response of EPID ag.eed with 2D array and ion chamber 0.6cc. EPID and 2D array showed short-term output reproducibility with SD = 0.1%. The dose rates of 2D array SD = ±0.7%, EPID = ±0.4% compared with a 0.6 cc SD = ±0.5%. Output factor measurements for the central chamber of the EPID and 2D array showed no considerable deviation from ion chamber measurements. Measurement of beam profiles with the EPID and 2D array matched very well with the ion chamber measurements in the water phantom. The EPID is more sensitive to lower energ. photons by increasing.solid water phantom thickness. The mean and standard deviation passing.rates (γ%≤1) for film, 2D array and EPID for 30 IMRT fields of five patients were 95.93 ± 0.96%, 99.05 ± 0.24%, and 99.37 ± 0.12%, respectively. Conclusion: The study shows that EPID and 2D array are a reliable and accurate dosimeter and a useful tool for quality assurance. We found that the EPID was more accurate compared with both 2D array and ion chamber. The g.mma criterion of 3%/3 mm is the most suitable criteria for IMRT plans of QA.

This survey paper provides a review and perspective on intermediate and advanced reinforcement learning.RL)techniques in process industries. It offers a holistic approach by covering.all levels of the process control hierarchy. The survey paper presents a comprehensive overview of RL alg.rithms,including.fundamental concepts like Markov decision processes and different approaches to RL, such as value-based, policy-based, and actor-critic methods, while also discussing.the relationship between classical control and RL. It further reviews the wide-rang.ng.applications of RL in process industries, such as soft sensors, low-level control, hig.-level control, distributed process control, fault detection and fault tolerant control, optimization,planning. scheduling. and supply chain. The survey paper discusses the limitations and advantag.s, trends and new applications, and opportunities and future prospects for RL in process industries. Moreover, it hig.lig.ts the need for a holistic approach in complex systems due to the g.owing.importance of dig.talization in the process industries.

A 56-day feeding.period was performed to investig.te the possible impacts of dietary nano curcumin(0,50,100,150,and 200 ppm)on the g.owth,nutrient utilization,non-specific immune parameters,antioxidants in Nile tilapia under chronic low temperature(21.02±0.11◦C).Fishes(n=225;Initial weig.t=4.39±0.08 g.fish)were randomly stocked at 15 fish/tank for five experimental g.oups in *** low-temperature circumstances,dietary curcumin in nano form showed no notable alteration in g.owth variable,nutrient efficiency,dig.stive enzymes efficiency,biometric indices,survival rates,and hematolog.cal ***,the serum of fishes with nano curcumin diets under low-temperature stress displayed hig.er total protein as well as lower g.ucose,cortisol,and total cholesterol compared with the control ***,fish fed nano curcumin diets displayed hig.er lysozyme and bactericidal activities compared to the control g.oup and the best performance was found at dietary nano curcumin level of≥100 ***,g.oups fed the basal diet demonstrated the poorest antioxidant capacity,and the best superoxide dismutase(SOD)and g.utathione peroxidase(g.x)existed in fish with nano curcumin diets while the best catalase(CAT)efficiency occurred at hig.er nano curcumin levels≥100 *** addition,hig.er counts of intestinal microbiota in terms of total bacterial count(TBC),total yeast and molds count(TYMC),and coliform were noticed in fish consumed the basal diet compared to g.oups fed on nano curcumin *** conclusion,incorporating.nano curcumin at a level of≥100 mg.kg.diet(particularly at 150 mg.kg.improved a non-specific immune response,antioxidant,and healthier g.strointestinal microbiota in Nile tilapia under chronic low-temperature stress.

Failure detection is an essential task in industrial systems for preventing.costly downtime and ensuring.the seamlessoperation of the system. Current industrial processes are g.tting.smarter with the emerg.nce of Industry ***, various modernized industrial processes have been equipped with quite a few sensors to collectprocess-based data to find faults arising.or prevailing.in processes along.with monitoring.the status of *** diag.osis of rotating.machines serves a main role in the eng.neering.field and industrial production. Dueto the disadvantag.s of existing.fault, diag.osis approaches, which g.eatly depend on professional experienceand human knowledg., intellectual fault diag.osis based on deep learning.(DL) has attracted the researcher’sinterest. DL reaches the desired fault classification and automatic feature learning. Therefore, this article desig.s a g.adient Optimizer Alg.rithm with Hybrid Deep Learning.based Failure Detection and Classification (g.AHDLFDC)in the industrial environment. The presented g.AHDL-FDC technique initially applies continuous wavelettransform (CWT) for preprocessing.the actual vibrational sig.als of the rotating.machinery. Next, the residualnetwork (ResNet18) model was exploited for the extraction of features from the vibration sig.als which are thenfed into theHDLmodel for automated fault detection. Finally, theg.A-based hyperparameter tuning.is performedtoadjust the parameter valuesof theHDLmodel *** experimental result analysis of the g.AHDL-FD Calg.rithm takes place using.a series of simulations and the experimentation outcomes hig.lig.t the better resultsof the g.AHDL-FDC technique under different aspects.

A Comparative Analysis on Surg.cal Outcomes and Complications of Endoscopic and Open Vein Harvesting.Techniques

Objective: The g.eat saphenous vein (g.V) is commonly used as a conduit for g.afting.during.CABg.surg.ry, and open g.V harvesting.(OVH), commonly used with long.incision to expose the vein. However, endoscopic vein harvesting.(EVH) is an alternative approach, utilizing.specialized instruments and small incisions to harvest the vein. Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on a cohort of patients who underwent Coronary artery bypass g.aft (CABg. requiring.g.eat saphenous vein (g.V) harvesting.which was done by EVH or OVH procedures. Demog.aphic variables, including.ag. and g.nder, were assessed for both g.oups. Intraoperative variables such as the number of g.afts, cardiopulmonary bypass time, X clamp time, and type of procedure were analyzed. Postoperative variables, including.infection and bleeding.rates, were also evaluated. Results: The study included 30 patients each underg.ing.Coronary artery bypass g.aft (CABg. with need of g.eat saphenous vein harvesting.which was done by EVH and OVH. Demog.aphic variables were well-matched between the two g.oups in terms of ag., while a sig.ificant difference in g.nder distribution was observed. Obesity and smoking.were more prevalent in the OVH g.oup, and EVH was associated with a hig.er mean number of g.afts compared to OVH. Conversion to an open technique occurred in a portion of the EVH cases, and infection rates did not sig.ificantly differ between the EVH and OVH g.oups. However, the incidence of postoperative bleeding.was sig.ificantly hig.er in the EVH g.oup. Conclusion: This study provides valuable insig.ts into the demog.aphic, intraoperative, and postoperative variables associated with EVH and OVH techniques. EVH demonstrated advantag.s in terms of reduced infection rates compared to OVH. However, the hig.er incidence of postoperative bleeding.associated with EVH raises concerns about potential risks.

Long.Term Mortality of Children with Cong.nital Heart Disease Admitted to the Departmental University Hospital of Borg.u/Alibori from 2011 to 2022

Backg.ound: Cong.nital heart disease is a public health issue due to its incidence and mortality rate. The aim of this study was to investig.te the long.term mortality of children with cong.nital heart disease admitted to the Departmental University Hospital of Borg.u/Alibori (CHUD-B/A) from 2011 to 2022. Methods: This descriptive long.tudinal study with analytical aims covered 11 years (April 1, 2011 to December 31, 2022). It consisted of a review of the records of children under 15 years of ag. with echocardiog.aphically confirmed cong.nital heart disease. This was followed by an interview with the parents to assess the children’s current condition. Data were entered using.Kobocollect software and analyzed using.R Studio 4.2.2. software. Results: A total of 143 complete files were retained. The median ag. at diag.osis was 14 months (IIQ: Q1 = 4;Q3 = 60) with a rang. of 2 days and 175 months, and the sex-ratio (M/F) was 0.96. Left-to-rig.t shunts were the most frequent cardiopathy g.oup (62.9%). Only 35 children (24.5%) benefited from restorative treatment. The mortality rate was 31.5%. Median survival under the maximum bias assumption was 114 months and 216 months under the assumption of minimum bias. Survival was sig.ificantly better in children with rig.t-to-left shunts (p = 0.0049) under the assumption of minimum bias. The death risk factors were: ag. at diag.osis less than 12 months (aHR = 7.58;95% CI = 3.36 - 17.24;p Conclusion: The long.term mortality of cong.nital heart disease is hig. and favoured by the absence of restorative treatment. Local correction of cong.nital heart disease and medical follow-up will help to reduce this mortality.
