Climate and seasonal rainfall anomalies along an elevational gradient in the El Sira Mountains,Peru,and their impacts on tree radial growth

The explicit purpose of this study was to characterize climate and vegetation along the western slope of the El Sira Mountains(Peru)and evaluate radial tree growth in response to seasonal rainfall *** May 2011 until September 2015,we monitored radial stem growth of 67 trees using point dendrometers and measured climate within five sites along an altitudinal *** transect extends from lowland terra firme forests,over submontane forests,late and mid successional montane cloud forests up to exposed elfin *** rainfall estimates by the TRMM PR satellite(product 3B42)were highly correlated with our rain gauge observations but underestimate rainfall at high *** intra-annual tree growth patterns could be identified within each elevational forest type,showing species with strictly seasonal growth,continuous growth or alternating growth patterns independent of the *** growth at each site was generally larger during rainy seasons,except for the elfin *** rainy season from October 2013 to March 2014 was extraordinarily dry,with only 73%of long-term mean precipitation received,which resulted in reduced radial growth,again with the exception of the elfin *** indicates that montane tropical rain forests may suffer from prolonged droughts,while exposed ridges with elfin forests still receive plenty of precipitation and benefit from receiving more solar radiation for photosynthesis.

A High Performance Multifrontal Code for Linear Solution of Structures Using Multi-Core Microprocessors

A multifrontal code is introduced for the efficient solution of the linear system of equations arising from the analysis of structures. The factorization phase is reduced into a series of interleaved element assembly and dense matrix operations for which the BLAS3 kernels are used. A similar approach is generalized for the forward and back substitution phases for the efficient solution of structures having multiple load conditions. The program performs all assembly and solution steps in parallel. Examples are presented which demonstrate the code’s performance on single and dual core processor computers.

The gut-liver axis plays a crucial role in the development and progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD).Key metabolites,including lipopolysaccharides,short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs),bile acids,and beneficial gut bacteria such as Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus,are pivotal in this ***-like peptide-1 receptor agonists(GLP-1 RAs)show promise in managing MASLD by promoting weight loss,enhancing insulin secretion,and improving liver *** restore gut-liver axis functionality,and their effects are amplified through dietary modifications and gut microbiometargeted *** research highlights the interplay between GLP-1 RAs and gut microbiota,indicating that the gut microbiome significantly influences therapeutic *** produced by gut bacteria,can stimulate glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1)secretion,further improving metabolic *** dietary interventions with GLP-1 RA treatment may enhance liver health by modulating the gut microbiota-SCFAs-GLP-1 *** research is needed to understand personalized effects,with prebiotics and probiotics offering treatment avenues for MASLD.

Defining the awareness and attitude of the clinicians through pharmacovigilance in Turkey

The value of prognostic markers for pediatric trauma patients

BACKGROUND: Despite the rapid development of pediatric intensive care medicine, there are still limited data in the literature regarding the follow-up of pediatric trauma patients in pediatric intensive care units(PICUs). In this study, we aim to evaluate our experience with children admitted and followed up with the diagnosis of trauma at our ***: We evaluated the retrospective data of 77 pediatric trauma patients who were admitted to the PICU at Sancaktepe Sehit Prof. Dr. IlhanVarank Training and Research Hospital from August 2020 to December 2022. The demographic data, clinical parameters and laboratory results were recorded. The primary outcome was the mortality in PICU. The performances of markers in predicting mortality were evaluated with receiver operating characteristic(ROC) ***: The median age of the patients was 70(33–157) months, and the median duration of hospitalization in the PICU was 6(2–11) d. Of the 77 patients, 9 died due to trauma(11,1%). Among the clinical parameters, Pediatric Risk of Mortality III(PRISM III) Score, inotrope requirement, extracorporeal treatment requirement, and mechanical ventilator requirement were significantly higher in non-survivors than in survivors. Among the laboratory parameters, procalcitonin(PCT), lactate/albumin ratio(LAR), neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR), and transfusion requirement were significantly higher in non-survivors than in ***: In pediatric trauma patients, baseline PCT, LAR, and NLR values can be used to identify patients at risk for mortality.

Is It About Time to Rethink American Extended Deterrence？

In today＇s complex web of relations due to the end of the confrontation between the East and West, nuclear materials, technologies, know-how, and scientists have been diffused to states and non-state actors that act irrationally most of the time. The precedent example of nuclear North Korea has given rise to new concerns like whether the low levels of military casualties stemming from nuclear or near-nuclear capable countries will damage the credibility of US/North Atlantic Treaty Organization （NATO） extended deterrence. The ambiguity about how the future of the Iranian Geneva interim agreement will be finalized certainly feeds such kinds of concerns among Tehran＇s neighbors. Till now, both Turkey and South Korea have directly felt and lived through similar kinds of threats. It is true that, during the Cold War years, these two countries have enjoyed the benefit of American assured nuclear security guarantee. However, the current US/NATO extended deterrence due to the mentioned newly arising threats of our times has fallen short of stopping the skirmishes that are occurring at low levels of confrontation. That is why this paper will try to analyze and compare South Korean and Turkish cases so as to comprehend whether there is a necessity to re-think extended deterrence mechanisms that are differently dispatched to meet Ankara＇s and Seoul＇s peculiar security needs.

Synthetic dyes are very important for textile dyeing,paper printing,color photography and petroleum *** methods of dye removal include biodegradation,precipitation,adsorption,chemical degradation,photo degradation,and chemical *** decolorization with enzymatic reaction is an important issue for several research field(chemistry,environment)In this study,minimum decolorization time of Remazol Brilliant Blue R dye with Horseradish peroxidase enzyme was calculated using with mathematical equation depending on experimental *** decolorization was determined by monitoring the absorbance decrease at the specific maximum wavelength for *** experiments were carried out with different initial dye concentrations of Remazol Brilliant Blue R at 25 ℃ constant temperature for 30 *** development of the least squares estimators for a nonlinear model brings about complications not encountered in the case of the linear *** times for completely removal of dye were calculated according to *** was shown that mathematical equation was conformed exponential curve for dye degradation.
