Using the Taguchi Method and Grey Relational Analysis to Optimize the Performance of a Solar Air Heater

Solar energy is regarded as one of the promising renewable energy sources in the *** main aim of this study is to use the Taguchi-Grey relational grade analysis to optimize the performance of two Solar Air Heaters(SAHs).A typical Grey–Taguchi method was *** Orthogonal Array,Signal-to-Noise ratio,Grey Relational Grade,and Analysis of Variance were employed to investigate the performance characteristics of *** observations were made in agreement with Jordanian climate 32°00′N latitude and 36°00′E longitude with a solar intensity of 500 W\m^(2).The operating factors selected for optimization are the tilt angle(T)with three levels(0°,22°,45°),inlet velocity(V)with two levels(1.2,1.8 m/s),and absorber plate material(M)with two levels(aluminum,wood).In this study,the Grey–Taguchi approach is validated by performing 12 individual *** results show that the process factors sequence required for a maximum SAH efficiency(SAHµ)is V>T>*** this approach,we combined the Orthogonal Array design with Grey Relational *** a result of that,the level of each operating conditions which optimizes both process responses(Temperature difference,ΔT and Solar air heater efficiency,SAHµ)can be specified with a minimum number of tests compared with classic Grey Relational *** optimal operating conditions of a SAH for multiple performance characteristics are determined as T2,M2,and V2,respectively,which are in congruence with the experimental results.

In this editorial,we comment on the hard and soft tissue applications of different ceramic-based scaffolds prepared by different mechanisms such as 3D printing,sol-gel,and *** new concept of regenerative medicine relies on biomaterials that can trigger in situ tissue regeneration and stem cell recruitment at the defect site.A large percentage of these biomaterials is ceramic-based as they provide the essential requirements of biomaterial principles such as tailored multisize porosity,antibacterial properties,and angiogenic *** these previously mentioned properties put bioceramics on top of the hierarchy of biomaterials utilized to stimulate tissue regeneration in soft and hard tissue *** clinical applications registered the use of these materials in triggering soft tissue regeneration in healthy and diabetic patients such as bioactive glass *** results were promising and opened new frontiers for utilizing these materials on a larger *** same results were mentioned when using different forms and formulas of bioceramics in hard defect *** bioceramics were used in combination with other polymers and biological scaffolds to improve their regenerative and mechanical *** this progress will enable a larger scale of patients to receive such services with ease and decrease the financial burden on the government.

This study presents a new systematic algorithm to optimize the durability of reinforced recycled aggregate *** proposed algorithm integrates machine learning with a new version of the firefly algorithm called chaotic based firefly algorithm(CFA)to evolve a rational and efficient predictive *** CFA optimizer is augmented with chaotic maps and Levy flight to improve the firefly performance in forecasting the chloride penetrability of strengthened recycled aggregate concrete(RAC).A comprehensive and credible database of distinctive chloride migration coefficient results is used to establish the developed algorithm.A dataset composite of nine effective parameters,including concrete components and fundamental characteristics of recycled aggregate(RA),is used as input to predict the migration coefficient of strengthened RAC as output,k-fold cross validation algorithm is utilized to validate the hybrid *** numerical benchmark analyses are applied to prove the superiority and applicability of the CFA algorithm in predicting chloride *** show that the developed CFA approach significantly outperforms the firefly algorithm on almost tested functions and demonstrates powerful *** addition,the proposed strategy can be an active tool to recognize the contradictions in the experimental results and can be especially beneficial for assessing the chloride resistance of RAC.

Production and evaluation of novel functional extruded corn snacks fortified with ginger,bay leaves and turmeric powder

Extruded corn snacks are accepted by all human ages especially children, but they have low functional value. Therefore, corn extruded snacks contain rich nutraceuticals dried herbs including Laurus nobilis (T1), Curcuma longa (T2), Zingiber officinale Roscoe (T3), and the mixture of these herbs (T4) were manufactured and analyzed. The results declared that all the herbal extruded corn snacks had significantly higher ash, fibers, minerals, and vitamins A and B6. For minerals, the highest percent of increase compared to control was achieved by Fe, K, Ca, Zn content in order, being the highest in T4. The contents of Vitamin A and B6 were ranged from 283 to 445 IU/100 g and from 0.01 to 0.08 mg/100 g for the herbal extrudates, respectively. The increased percent in herbal corn snacks relative to control ranged from 743 to 452%, 188 to 17.6%, and from 313 to 99% for total phenolics, flavonoids, and antioxidant activity. Besides, the highest number of phenolic compounds was recorded in T4. Despite the fact that approximately all herbal extruded products had good texture and color characteristics, the best formulation was T2 and T4 corn snacks. Furthermore, the extruded products were microbiologically safe for up to 9 months. The formulation of herbal-corn snacks could fulfill consumers’ requirement for ready-to-eat-healthy foods with acceptable sensory attributes and also economically suitable for the food industry.

Nurses’ Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Evidence-Based Practice: An Integrative Review

Background: As a result of its influence on nurses’ knowledge and practice, evidence-based practice (EBP) has gained prominence in the nursing profession. Therefore, evidence-based practice (EBP) is increasingly acknowledged as a critical component of improving the quality of healthcare and nursing care services, as well as achieving patient care excellence. Aim: One of the primary objectives of this review is to consolidate the existing research on nurses’ understanding of evidence-based practice, attitudes toward it, and practices related to it. Methods: The following databases from 2012 to 2021 have been searched such as: Cochrane Collaboration, MEDLINE, AVOID, CINAHL, EMBASE, Science Direct, ASSIA, Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed and JSTOR. Only cohort, case-control and randomized controlled trials studies with full text in English were eligible. Results: Only eight articles were found to meet the inclusion criteria out of 2155 total articles after the exclusion criteria were applied. The majority of these eight researches discovered a favourable attitude about EBP as well as a low level of expertise. Conclusion: The majority of nurses have a good attitude toward their job, but most are uninformed of the significance of EBP in their profession. In order to recognize and compare the components that may impact knowledge, attitude, and practices of EBP throughout the world in order to discover similarities that may assist global strategies for the transfer of research results to nursing, additional research on this topic is required to recognize and compare the components that may impact knowledge, attitude, and practices of EBP throughout the world in order to discover similarities that may assist global strategies for the transfer of research results to nursing.

First-principles study of the electronic structure of a superstoichiometric rare earth dihydride GdH2.25

We performed ab initio calculations of electronic structure and equilibrium properties for the rare earth superstoichiometric dihydride GdH2.25 （with the space group Pm-3m （No. 221）） using the full-potential linearized augmented plane wave method （FP-LAPW） approach within the density functional theory （DFT） in the generalized gradient approximation （GGA） and local density approximation （LDA） as implemented in the WIEN2k simulation code at 0 K. The equilibrium properties were determined, the density of states, electronic density and the energy band structures were studied in details. It was concluded that the GGA optimized lattice parameter agreed much better with the experimental findings than the LDA one, The non negligible electronic density of states at the Fermi level confirmed that the GdH2.25 had a metallic character. The Fermi energy EF fell at a level where most of the states were rare-earth 5d-eg conduction states while negligible contributions of both interstitial （tetrahedral and octahedral） H s-states were observed near EF, From electronic density, the bonding between Gd and tetrahedral H atoms was of prominent covalency, while was ionic between Gd and octahedral H atoms.

Predictors of anti-SARS-CoV-2 seropositivity:An Egyptian population-based study

Background:Population-based studies on the determinants of COVID-19 seroprevalence constitute a cornerstone in guiding appropriate preventive *** studies are scarce in Egypt,thus we conducted this study to explore risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 ***:This survey included 2919 participants from 10 Egyptian *** were tested for SARS-CoV-2 spike(S)and nucleocapsid(N)*** and multivariate analyses were performed to identify associated factors and predictors of seropositivity regarding sociodemographic factors,clinical data,and personal practices of participants.A subgroup analysis was performed to investigate the occupational risks of ***:Seropositivity was recorded in 1564 participants(53.6%).Independent predictors of seropositivity in-cluded non-smokers(aOR=1.817;95%CI:1.407-2.346,p=0.000),having blood group A(aOR=1.231;95%CI:1.016-1.493,p=0.034),a history of COVID-19 infection(aOR=2.997;95%CI:2.176-4.127,p=0.000),COVID-19 vaccination(aOR=4.349;95%CI:2.798-6.759,p=0.000),higher crowding index(aOR=1.229;95%CI:1.041-1.451,p=0.015),anosmia and/or ageusia(aOR=3.453;95%CI:2.661-4.481,p=0.000)and history of fever(aOR=1.269;95%CI:1.033-1.560,p=0.023).Healthcare worker and Obesity/overweight were additional significant predictors of seropositivity among the working participants(aOR=1.760;95%CI:1.301-2.381,p=0.000 and aOR=1.384;95%CI:1.059-1.808,p=0.019,respectively).Additional factors showing association with seropositivity in the univariate analysis were:female gender,age group(15-39 years),higher educational level(preparatory and above),lack of environmental disinfection and having roommates at the *** was a positive correlation between the titers of both *** was weakly corre-lated with anti-S titer,while anti-N was significantly correlated with the number of protective measures applied by the *** antibodies were significantly correlated with adult BMI,while both we

Screening the RFX6-DNA binding domain for potential genetic variants in patients with type 2 diabetes

BACKGROUND The regulatory factor X6 (RFX6), a member of regulatory factor X family, is known to play a key role in the development and differentiation of pancreatic beta cells as well as insulin production and secretion. However, the potential role of RFX6 in type 2 diabetes (T2D) is still unclear. AIM Recent studies have indicated that RFX6 binding to DNA could be disrupted in diabetes. Therefore, in this study we investigated whether genetic mutations are present in the DNA binding domain of RFX6 gene that could abrogate its function in T2D. METHODS A cohort of T2D patients was enrolled in this study, and the gene encoding the DNA binding domain of RFX6 was amplified by polymerase chain reaction and then analysed by direct DNA sequencing. RESULTS The DNA sequence analysis revealed the absence of any exonic mutation. However, we have identified a new heterozygous single nucleotide polymorphism (IVS6+31 C>T) in the intronic region of DNA binding domain gene that is present in 9.2% and 8.5% of diabetic and control people, respectively (P = 0.97).CONCLUSION We report the absence of any significant genetic variant that could affect the function of RFX6-DNA binding domain in T2D.
