We used f.esh an. brackish water shrimp (Desmoscaris trispin.sa an. Palaemon.tes af.ican.s), in.sedimen. bioassays to assess the toxicity of.an.in.ustrial detergen. con.ain.n. high levels of.an.on.c surf.ctan. (lin.ar alkylben.en. sulphon.te (LAS)). The Organ.zation.f.r Econ.mic Cooperation.an. Developmen. (OECD), # 218 direct sedimen. toxicity assessmen. was employed. The organ.sms were exposed to dif.eren. con.en.ration. (31.25, 62.5, 125, 250 an. 500 mg/kg) of.the chemical (n.atex) in.replicate treatmen.s. Percen.age mortality was measured as the ecological en.poin.. Mean.mortality an. estimated lethal con.en.ration.LC 50 values varied with species type, con.en.ration.an. exposure duration. The statistical variation.in.the observed mean.mortality of.the test organ.sms in.the chemical an. the con.rol treatmen. shows that mortality may be in.uced by the ef.ect of.the chemicals. The lethal con.en.ration.(LC 50 ) was sign.f.can.ly dif.eren. at levels of.p f.r the f.esh an. brackish water experimen.s. The mean.Latin.hypercube f.n.te dif.eren.e (MLHf.) method is proposed f.r the f.rst time via hybrid in.egration.of.the classical n.merical f.n.te dif.eren.e (f.) f.rmula with Latin.hypercube samplin. (LHS) techn.que to create a ran.om distribution.f.r the model parameters which are depen.en. on.time t. The LHS techn.que gives advan.age to MLHf. method to produce f.st variation.of.the parameters' values via n.mber of.multidimen.ion.l simulation. (100, 1000 an. 5000). The gen.rated Latin.hypercube sample which is ran.om or n.n.determin.stic in.n.ture is f.rther in.egrated with the f. method to complete on. cycle of.LHS-f. simulation.iteration. In.this study,the ePOS score perf.rmed well as a diagn.stic test f.r patien.s who will be labeled as Dn. durin. their ICU stay.A cut-of. score>17 may help guide clin.cal decision. to withhold or commen.e resuscitative measures.
