In recent.years, aluminum-mat.ix composit.s (AMCs) have been widely used t. replace cast.iron in aerospace and aut.mot.ve indust.ies. Machining of t.ese composit. mat.rials requires bet.er underst.nding of cut.ing processes re- garding accuracy and efficiency. t.is st.dy addresses t.e modeling of t.e machinabilit. of self-lubricat.d aluminum /alumina/graphit. hybrid composit.s synt.esized by t.e powder met.llurgy met.od. In t.is st.dy, mult.ple regression analysis (MRA) and art.ficial neural net.orks (ANN) were used t. invest.gat. t.e influence of some paramet.rs on t.e t.rust.force and t.rque in t.e drilling processes of self-lubricat.d hybrid composit. mat.rials. t.e models were ident.- fied by using cut.ing speed, feed, and volume fract.on of t.e reinforcement.part.cles as input.dat. and t.e t.rust.force and t.rque as t.e out.ut.dat.. A comparison bet.een t.o predict.on met.ods was developed t. compare t.e predict.on accuracy. ANNs showed bet.er predict.bilit. result. compared t. MRA due t. t.e nonlinearit. nat.re of ANNs. t.e st.t.st.cal analysis accompanied wit. art.ficial neural net.ork result. showed t.at.Al2O3, Gr and cut.ing feed (f) were t.e most.significant.paramet.rs on t.e drilling process, while spindle speed seemed insignificant. Since t.e spindle speed was insignificant. it.direct.d us t. set.it.eit.er at.t.e highest.spindle speed t. obt.in high mat.rial removal rat. or at.t.e lowest.spindle speed t. prolong t.e t.ol life depending on t.e need for t.e applicat.on.
