Groundwat.r levels were found t. be influenced by rainfall and pumping of wat.r from t.e wells for domest.c and indust.ial use. t.ent. wat.r samples were collect.d from different.wells and analyzed for major chemical const.t.ent. bot. in pre- and post.seasons t. det.rmine t.e qualit. variat.on. Chemical const.t.ent. are significant.y increased aft.r post.season recharge. According t. t.e overall assessment.of t.e area, wat.r qualit. was found t. be useful for drinking, irrigat.on and indust.y.

t.e wat.r qualit. of major springs in t.e Yar-mouk Basin (nort. Jordan) experienced degra-dat.on due t. rapid urbanizat.on and indust.i-alizat.on. In order t. check t.eir suit.bilit. for irrigat.on, drinking and indust.ial purposes, a research work was conduct.d t. assess t.e degree of ionic t.xicit. in t.ese wat.r sources. t.irt.-six wat.r samples were analyzed for dif-ferent.element. of dominant.cat.ons and anions such as Ca, Mg, Na, K, Fe, and HCO3 t.get.er wit. ot.er minor ions P, B, NO3, SO4, and Cl. t. classify wat.r qualit., paramet.rs such as so-dium adsorpt.on rat.o (SAR), soluble sodium percent.ge (SSP) and residual sodium carbon-at. (RSC) were calculat.d. Concent.at.ons of major cat.ons and anions are low compared t. t.eir permissible levels in pot.ble wat.r. t.e t.t.l dissolved solids is 617 mg/l or below, which indicat.s t.e presence of fresh wat.r. t.e fresh wat.r condit.on is also verified by low t. mod-erat. elect.ical conduct.vit. (347-1234 ?S/cm) and lower t.an 8.09 pH values. t.e concent.a-t.on of t.t.l iron (0.0-0.09 mg/l) falls below t.e maximum permissible limit.of 1 mg/l. t.e low SAR (0.5 t. 1.34) coupled wit. low elect.ical conduct.vit., gives t.e wat.r medium salinit. hazard and low sodium hazard. t.us, t.e wat.r is general of suit.ble chemical qualit. for do-mest.c, agricult.ral and most.indust.ial uses.

A geoelect.ical resist.vit. measurement.ut.lizing t.e Schlumberger array was made at.t.e Bir Madkour area in t.e sout.ern part.of Wadi Araba, Aqaba Province, Jordan, in order t. evaluat. t.e groundwat.r pot.nt.al in t.e area and t. provide informat.on on t.e t.ickness, lit.ology, and t.ct.nics of t.e subsurface layers. t.ent.-five vert.cal elect.ical soundings (VES) were conduct.d by BGR resist.vit. inst.ument.in 2000. t.e AB/2 spacings for VES were t.ken at.900 m. t.e dat. obt.ined were int.rpret.d by using t.e classical mat.hing curves and comput.r modeling t.chniques. Int.rpret.t.on of 25 sounding curves indicat.s t.at.in t.e Bir Madkour area t.ere are t.ree groups of resist.vit. values above t.e basement.rocks. t.ese t.ree groups of resist.vit. values correspond t. t.ree geological layers. t.e groundwat.r level possible is t. coincide wit. t.e cont.ct.bet.een t.e alluvial sediment. and t.e Upper Cret.ceous rocks. It. dept. varies bet.een 70 m and 110 m.

A first. qualit.t.ve int.rpret.t.on of t.e geoelect.ical sounding curves gives a general impression of t.e geologic set.ing and t.e marl bit.men boundaries. However, a more det.iled, quant.t.t.ve int.rpret.t.on shows t.e usefulness of t.e resist.vit. met.od in t.e t.eat.ent.of problems pert.ining t. nat.ral resource deposit.explorat.on. Int.grat.on geological and borehole dat. wit. VES met.od provided det.iled informat.on on t.e st.uct.re and t.e st.at.graphy of t.e subsurface layers in t.e El Lajjun deposit.of oil shale.

Most.of t.ese were subsequent.y react.vat.d int. st.ike-slip shear fract.res. t.e NW-SE and N-S lineament. represent.dilat.t.onal fract.res. t.e N-S t.ending lineament. are t.e oldest. t.e E-W lineament. form conjugat. shear fract.res and are younger t.an t.e N-S lineament.. t.ese conjugat. shear fract.res are also older t.an ot.er set.of conjugat. shear fract.res orient.d NE-SW. t.e evolut.on of all t.ese fract.res is at.ribut.d t. t.e DSt.and t.e Red Sea spreading. Survey was made over 3 excavat.on levels along t.e highway sect.on at.t.e Ras en Naqab escarpment.area, Sout.west.Jordan. A t.t.l of 217 m along 4 profiles were covered in t.e wint.r of 2012. t.e object.ves of t.e st.dy are（i） t. evaluat. t.e resolut.on of t.e GPR t.chnique in t.e field for det.ct.ng and locat.ng anomalies caused by subsurface st.uct.res like cavit.es, fract.res and fault., and（ii） t. describe st.at.graphic nomenclat.re of t.e subsurface rocks of t.e area. 2D int.rpret.t.on of t.e obt.ined dat. and t.e geological informat.on demonst.at. a st.ong correlat.on bet.een t.e GPR anomalies and t.e subsurface geology. We present.t.e det.iled fundament.l st.llar paramet.rs of t.e close visual binary syst.m HD 39438 for t.e first.t.me. We used Al-Wardat.s met.od for analyzing binary and mult.ple st.llar syst.ms. t.e met.od implement. Kurucz's plane parallel model at.ospheres t. const.uct.synt.et.c spect.al energy dist.ibut.ons(SEDs) for bot. component. of t.e syst.m. It.t.en combines t.e result. of t.e spect.oscopic analysis wit. t.e phot.met.ic analysis and compares t.em wit. t.e observed ones t. const.uct.t.e best.synt.et.c SED for t.e combined syst.m. t.e analysis gives t.e precise fundament.l paramet.rs of t.e individual component. of t.e syst.m. Based on t.e posit.ons of t.e component. of HD 39438 on t.e H-R diagram, and evolut.onary and isochrone t.acks, we found t.at.t.e syst.m belongs t. t.e main sequence st.rs wit. masses of 1.24 and 0.98 solar masses for t.e component. A and B, respect.vely, and age of 1.995 Gyr for bot. component.. t.e main result.of HD 39438 is new dynamical parallax, which is est.mat.d t. be 16.689 ± 0.03 mas.

根据航磁、重力和地震数据以及地质和辅助地球物理资料，对约旦东北部前寒武纪岩石的轮廓和变化及其上覆的沉积岩石的厚度进行了研究．识别出5个具有特定磁性特征的磁场区，每个磁场区都有其特征的样式和突变的边界，每个磁场区的物质... 详细信息

根据航磁、重力和地震数据以及地质和辅助地球物理资料，对约旦东北部前寒武纪岩石的轮廓和变化及其上覆的沉积岩石的厚度进行了研究．识别出5个具有特定磁性特征的磁场区，每个磁场区都有其特征的样式和突变的边界，每个磁场区的物质组成存在明显差异，其构造边界均与断层相对应．计算表明基底表面有很大起伏，磁化的前寒武纪岩石深度变化范围为-5000m至-10000m，可以识别出由基底下陷相对应的5个盆地或拗陷带，同时可见3个起伏较大的构造隆起．探测结果表明，古生代建造中发育的主要断裂呈N-S与NNE向，而在新生代建造中发育的断裂则呈NE-SW，NW-SE和E-W向．研究区构造发展的第一构造阶段与E-W向张力有关，第二构造阶段的产物明显受到第三构造阶段发生的构造变形的改造，并与阿拉伯板块的逆时针旋转有关．磁场区之间的移位、错断、拖曳和并置被认为剪切断层所造成．剪切形式表明位移是左行的，即北侧的块体向北西方向移动．
