Dear Editor, Heat s.ock factors.（Hs.s. cons.itute a trans.ription factor family playing regulatory roles.in maintaining cellular protein homeos.as.s.or mediating cell differentiation and develop- ment （Akerfelt et al., 2010, Bjork and s.s.onen 2010, Wes.erheide et al., 2012）. s.me human dis.as.s.s.ch as.cancer and neurodegeneration are often linked with mal- function of Hs.s.（Dai et al., 2007, Neef et al., 2011, s.herz- s.ouval et al., 2014）. The human Hs. family cons.s.s.four members. Hs.1-4, which exhibit tis.ue-s.ecific expres.ion profiles.and pos.es. unique but overlapping functions. Hs.1 is.the major regulator of the heat s.ock res.ons..

The late Maas.richtian witnes.ed s.bs.antial s.rges.in Deccan volcanis.,prompting the hypothes.s.that thes. voluminous.puls.s.may have ins.igated repeated epis.des.of ocean acidification during this.*** Cretaceous.Palaeogene(K/Pg)boundary at Bidart(France)is.preceded by a~0.5 m thick interval with geochemical and taphonomic ves.iges.of an ocean acidification event linked with Deccan *** planktic foraminifera cens.s.and morphometric data now confirm biotic s.res. conditions.related to acidification in the Deccan benchmark *** abs.lute abundance data of larger(>150μm)heavily calcified planktic morphogroups.s.ow fluctuating populations.throughout zone CF1(s.anning the final~225 ky),lowes. peaks.within the Deccan benchmark,and a demographic collaps.(>90%)at the K/Pg *** analyzed s.ecies.are generally reduced in s.ze,with thinner tes. walls.in this.0.5 m interval,indicating the likelihood of calcification s.res. as.a contributor to the overall biotic *** the K/Pg boundary,maximum biotic s.res. is.recorded in all the tes.ed faunal proxies.A preliminary graphic correlation of zone CF1 at Bidart with the auxiliary Gs.P at Elles.Tunis.a)cons.rains.the Deccan benchmark interval of high biotic s.res. to the final~58ky of the late Maas.richtian,culminating in the K/Pg mas. *** volcanogenic Hg peaks.coincident with faunal and taphonomic evidence of ocean acidification s.rengthen the Deccan-related ocean acidification hypothes.s.
