Resistance to cancer immunotherapy is mainly attributed to poor tumor immunogenicity as well as the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment(tmE)leading to failure of immune *** therapeutic strategies including chem.t.erapy,radiotherapy,photodynamic,photothermal,magnetic,chemodynamic,sonodynamic and oncolytic therapy,have been developed to induce immunogenic cell death(ICD)of cancer cells and thereby elicit immunogenicity and boost the antitumor immune ***,many challenges hamper the clinical application of ICD inducers resulting in modest immunogenic ***,we outline the current state of using nanomedicines for boosting ICD of cancer ***,synergistic approaches used in combination with ICD inducing nanomedicines for remodeling the tmE via targeting immune checkpoints,phagocytosis,macrophage polarization,tumor hypoxia,autophagy and stromal modulation to enhance immunogenicity of dying cancer cells were *** further highlight the emerging trends of using nanom.t.rials for triggering amplified ICD-mediated antitumor immune *** reticulum localized ICD,focused ultrasound hyperthermia,cell membrane camouflaged nanomedicines,amplified reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation,m.t.llo-immunotherapy,ion modulators and engineered bacteria are among the most innovative *** challenges,merits and demerits of ICD inducer nanomedicines were also discussed with shedding light on the future role of this technology in improving the outcomes of cancer immunotherapy.

Chemical looping combustion has the potential to be an efficient and low-cost technology capable of contributing to the reduction of the atmospheric concentration of CO_(2) in order to reach the 1.5/2°C goal and m.t.gate clim.t. *** this process,a m.t.l oxide is used as oxygen carrier in a dual fluidized bed to generate clean CO_(2) via combustion of *** commonly,natural ores or synthetic m.t.rials are used as oxygen carrier whereas both must meet special requirements for the conversion of solid *** oxygen carriers are characterized by higher reactivity at the expense of higher costs versus the lower-cost natural *** determine the viability of both possibilities,a techno-economic comparison of a synthetic m.t.rial based on manganese,iron,and copper to the natural ore ilmenite was *** synthetic oxygen carrier was characterized and tested in a pilot plant,where high combustion efficiencies up to 98.4%and carbon capture rates up to 98.5%were *** techno-economic assessment resulted in CO_(2) capture costs of 75 and 40€/tCO_(2) for the synthetic and natural ore route respectively,whereas a sensitivity analysis showed the high impact of production costs and attrition rates of the synthetic *** synthetic oxygen carrier could break even with the natural ore in case of lower production costs and attrition rates,which could be reached by adapting the production process and recycling *** comparison to state-of-the-art technologies,it is demonstrated that both routes are viable and the capture cost of CO_(2) could be reduced by implementing the chemical looping combustion technology.

the recently deployed transition Region Explorer(tREx)-RGB(red-green-blue)all-sky imager(ASI)is designed to capture“true color”images of the aurora and *** the 557.7 nm green line is usually the brightest emission line in visible auroras,the green channel of a tREx-RGB camera is usually dominated by the 557.7 nm *** this rationale,the tREx mission does not include a specific 557.7 nm imager and is designed to use the RGB green-channel data as a proxy for the 557.7 nm *** this study,we present an initial effort to establish the conversion ratio or formula linking the RGB green-channel data to the absolute intensity of 557.7 nm auroras,which is crucial for quantitative uses of the RGB *** illustrate two approaches:(1)through a comparison with the collocated measurement of green-line auroras from.t.e tREx spectrograph,and(2)through a comparison with the modeled green-line intensity according to realistic electron precipitation flux measurements from low-Earth-orbit satellites,with the aid of an auroral transport *** demonstrate the procedures and provide initial results for the tREx-RGB ASIs at the Rabbit Lake and Lucky Lake *** RGB response is found to be *** conversion ratios or formulas between RGB green-channel data and the green-line auroral intensity are given and can be applied immediately by tREx-RGB data *** m.t.odology established in this study will also be applicable to the upcoming SmILE ASI mission,which will adopt a similar RGB camera system in its deployment.

this paper is investigating the use of composite armour reinforced by nanom.t.rials, for the protection of light armoured(LAV) and medium armoured military vehicles(mAV), and the interaction between the composite m.t.rials and high-performance ballistic projectiles. Four armour m.t.rials, consisted of front hybrid fibre reinforced polymer cover layer, ceramic strike-face, fibre reinforced polymer intermediate layer and the m.t.l m.t.ix composite reinforced backplate, were manufactured and assembled by adhesive technology. the proposed laminated protection system is suitable for armoured ground vehicles;however, it could be used as armour on ground, air and naval platforms. the design of the protection system, including m.t.rial selection and thickness, was elaborated depending on the performance requirements of Level 4 + StANAG 4569 military standard(projectile 14.5 mm × 114 mm API B32) and especially on a design philosophy which is analysed with the specifications. the backplate of this new composite is a hybrid m.t.rial of m.t.l m.t.ix Composite(mmC) reinforced with carbon nanotubes(CNts), manufactured with the use of powder m.t.llurgy technique. the composite backplate m.t.rial was morphologically, mechanically and chemically analysed. Results show that all plates are presenting high mechanical properties and ballistic characteristics, compared to commonly used armour plates. Real military ballistic tests according to AEP-StANAG 4569 were carried out for the total composite armour systems. After the ballistic tests, AA2024-CNt3 showed the best protection results, compared with the other plates(AA2024-CNt1 and AA2024-CNt2), with the projectile being unable to fully penetrate the composite plate.

流星进入地球大气层时会发生空中解体和爆炸,威胁地球局部区域乃至全球安全针对流星进入大气演化的超高速动力学仿真研究具有重要意义.为提高预报的精确性,应关注流星体内部结构和非均匀烧蚀等对演化过程和解体后碎片运动的影响。本文提出了一种可变形不规则离散元方法,用于仿真分析流星进入大气层时轨迹和姿态变化、烧蚀、解体和爆轰等现象。利用多面体离散元模型可模拟不同结构的异质流星;通过拉伸多面体模型顶点,仿真流星的粗糙外形和烧蚀形变;利用Jones-Wilkins-Lee状态方程计算烧蚀产生的集中爆轰产物的压力.以Chelyabinsk流星事件中发生轨迹偏离的碎片为例,数值仿真集中爆轰产物的膨胀驱动作用对碎片运动方向和轨迹演化的影响.仿真结果表明,碎片弹出轨迹特征和烧蚀剩余质量均在观测值范围内,验证了新方法的有效性.

the glacial history of Pico de Orizaba indicates that during the Last Glacial maximum,its icecap covered up to~3000 m asl;due to the air temperature increasing,its main glacier has retreated to 5050 m *** retraction of the glacier has left behind an intense clim.t.c instability that causes a high frequency of freeze-thaw cycles of great intensity;the resulting geomorphological processes are represented by the fragmentation of the bedrock that occupies the upper parts of the *** is a notable lack of studies regarding the fragmentation and erosion occurring in tropical high mountains,and the associated geomorphological risks;for this reason,as a first stage of future continuous research,this study analyzes the freezing and thawing cycles that occur above 4000 m asl,through continuous monitoring of surface ground *** results allow us to identify and characterize four zones:glacial,paraglacial,periglacial and *** was found that the paraglacial zone presents an intense drop of temperature,of up to~9℃ in only sixty *** rock fatigue and intense freeze-thaw cycles that occur in this area are responsible for the high rate of rock disintegration and represent the main factor of the constant slope dynamics that occur at the *** activity decreases,both in frequency and intensity,according to the distance to the glacier,which is where the temperature presents a certain degree of stability,until reaching the proglacial zone,where cycles are almost non-existent,and therefore there is no gelifraction *** geomorphological processes have resulted in significant alterations to the mountain slopes,which can have severe consequences in terms of risk and water.
