Inclusive reservoir characterization from rock physics and sequence stratigraphic analyses of Middle Miocene,Niger delta

The estimation of seismic reservoir properties faces difficulties such as delineating deceptive fluid contacts,over-estimating reserves and drilling dry *** overcome these problems,sequence strat-igraphic and rock physics analyses that were constrained by the compaction trend were implemented in the Sigma *** field is located in the Coastal Swamp depobelt,in the distal *** data from the field and a total of three wells,Sigma-30,26,and 25 were provided for the *** data was also given for the field and dated to shale marker *** strati-graphic sequence analysis of the wells in field indicate they were deposited in a regressive,transgressive and aggradational episodes,whereas the entire depositional history shows predominantly regressive *** field reservoirs,SM-14(LST),SM-04(TST),and SM-02(HST)were *** analysis of the landscape from sequence stratigraphic analyses of the field indicates that Sigma feld reservoirs were deposited in a front region of the *** to compaction has been generated for the *** wells showed a normal trend toward *** physics analysis of the reservoirs of interest reveals that LST and TST reservoirs have been dificult to distinguish against HST reservoirs which are easy to classify regardless of their depth for fluids in a Vp/Vs crossplot versus acoustic *** the analysis,a pattern is suggested for TST ***,this research work shows that fluid discrimination becomes simpler as we go basin ward as the sorting of the reservoir rocks increases with finer grain sand sizes.

Determination of Natural Logarithm of Diffusion Coefficient and Activation energy of Thin Layer Drying Process of Ginger Rhizome Slices

This study is an extension of the previous work done with ARS-680 environmental Chamber. Drying is a complex operation that demands much energy and time. Drying is essentially important for preservation of ginger rhizome. Drying of ginger was modeled, and then the effective diffusion coefficient and activation energy were determined. For this purpose, the experiments were done at six levels of varied temperatures: 10°C, 20°C, 30°C, 40°C, 50°C and 60°C. The values of effective diffusion coefficients obtained in this work for the variously treated ginger rhizomes closely agreed with the average effective diffusion coefficients of other notable authors who determined the drying kinetics and convective heat transfer coefficients of ginger slices.

Direct Measurements of the electron energy Flux versus electron Temperature Gradient in Tokamak Discharges

electron thermal transport is one of the most complex processes in fusionplasmas. It is generally described by a simple thermal diffusivity in transport analyses ofdischarges, but there is evidence of critical gradient effects with moderate stiffness. By analyzingperiodic perturbations to an equilibrium, one canmeasure the variations in electron energy flux andelectron temperature gradient over the perturbation cycle, obtaining the flux as a function ofgradient over the range of parameters generated by the perturbation. Although time-dependenttransport analysis is very sensitive to noise in the input data, averaging over many cycles of aperiodic perturbation can provide data of sufficient quality. The analyses presented here are basedon the eCe temperature data with high spatial and temporal resolution and full profile coverage onDIII-D for sawteeth and modulated eCH heating.

基于美国页岩油气勘探开发历程的回顾,对主要页岩盆地的地质演化、主要页岩层系的油气地质特征及勘探开发进展进行系统梳理和总结。美国重要页岩盆地的富烃页岩主要发育于6个地质时期:中奥陶世、中—晚泥盆世、早石炭世(中—晚密西西比世)、早二叠世、晚侏罗世和晚白垩世(塞诺曼期—土伦期),构造沉积环境主要包括克拉通内盆地、前陆盆地和被动大陆边缘盆地。古生界富烃页岩主要分布于以下6个盆地:阿巴拉契亚盆地(尤蒂卡页岩和马塞勒斯页岩)、阿纳达科盆地(伍德福德页岩)、威利斯顿盆地(巴肯页岩)、阿卡马盆地(费耶特维尔页岩)、沃思堡盆地(巴内特页岩)和二叠盆地(狼营组和斯帕瑞组/骨泉组页岩)。中生界富烃页岩主要发育在西墨西哥湾盆地(海恩斯维尔组和鹰滩组)和落基山盆地群(以丹佛和粉河盆地的尼尔布拉勒组页岩为主)。通过对各页岩区带的详细分析发现,页岩的岩相和矿物成分存在差异,“页岩储层”并非只是页岩,很多情况下页岩油气还产自粉砂岩和碳酸盐岩等多种岩石类型。美国的页岩油气资源丰富,页岩油地质资源量超过0.246×1012 t,页岩气地质资源量超过290×1012 m3。在开启“页岩革命”的水平井水力压裂技术出现之前,美国经过了长达20年的勘探开发实践和理论技术积累。自2007年至2023年,美国页岩油气产量从约11.2×104t/d油当量增加到超过300.0×104t/d油当量,2017年页岩油气产量超过了常规油气,2023年在油气总产量中的占比增加到60%以上。页岩油气的开发主要得益于钻完井技术的改进,“立体开发”的攻关,以及重复压裂、提高原油采收率和“U”形井等技术的应用。基于美国丰富的页岩资源基础和技术的不断进步,页岩油气的产量将继续为全美的油气生产做出更大贡献。

Given the likelihood of regional extirpation of several once-common bat species in eastern North America from white-nose syndrome,it is critical that the impacts of forest management activities,such as prescribed fire,are known in order to minimize potentially additive negative effects on bat *** wildfires may offer a suitable surrogate to assess long-term burn impacts on bats for planning,implementing and assessing burn *** examine the effects of historic fire on bats,we sampled bat activities at 24 transect locations in burned and unburned forest stands in the central Appalachian Mountains of Shenandoah National Park(SNP),Virginia,*** was limited evidence of positive fire effects over time on hoary bats(Lasiurus cinereus Beauvois)and big brown bats(eptesicus fuscus Beauvois)***,there were few or mostly equivocal relationships of bat occupancy relative to burn conditions or time since fire in SNP across species using a false-positive occupancy *** results suggest that fire does not strongly affect bat site occupancy short-or long-term in the central Appalachians.

Significance of Vibrio species in the marine organic carbon cycle-A review

The genus Vibrio,belonging to Gammaproteobacteria of the phylum Proteobacteria,is a genetically and ecologically diverse group of heterotrophic bacteria,that are ubiquitous in marine environments,especially in coastal *** particular,vibrios dominate,*** to 10%of the readily culturable marine bacteria in these *** distribution of Vibrio *** shaped by various environmental parameters,notably temperature,salinity and dissolved organic *** utilize a wide range of organic carbon compounds,including chitin(this may be metabolized by most Vibrio spp.),alginic acid and *** Vibrio *** very short replication times(as short as～10 min),which could facilitate them developing into high biomass content albeit for relatively short *** *** comprise a minor portion(typically^1%of the total bacterioplankton in coastal waters)of the total microbial population,they have been shown to proliferate explosively in response to various nutrient pulses,e.g.,organic nutrients from algae blooms and iron from Saharan ***,Vibrio *** exert large impacts on marine organic carbon cycling especially in marginal *** and related areas of investigation will reveal more about the molecular components and mechanisms involved in Vibrio-mediated biotransformation and remineralization processes.
