Background:Glioblastoma multiforme(GBM)is recognized as the most lethal and most highly invasive *** high likelihood of treatment failure arises fromthe presence of the blood-brain barrier(BBB)and stemcells around GBM,which avert the entry of chemotherapeutic drugs into the ***:Recently,several researchers have designed novel nanocarrier systems like liposomes,dendrimers,metallic nanoparticles,nanodiamonds,and nanorobot approaches,allowing drugs to infiltrate the BBB more efficiently,opening up innovative avenues to prevail over therapy problems and radiation ***:Relevant literature for this manuscript has been collected from a comprehensive and systematic search of databases,for example,PubMed,Science Direct,Google Scholar,and others,using specific keyword combinations,including“glioblastoma,”“brain tumor,”“nanocarriers,”and several ***:This review also provides deep insights into recent advancements in nanocarrier-based formulations and technologies for GBM *** of various scientific advances in conjunction with encouraging findings concerning the future perspectives and challenges of nanocarriers for effective brain tumor management has also been discussed.

Comparative analysis of real-world data of frequent treatment sequences in metastatic prostate cancer

Background:The incidence of prostate cancer is increasing worldwide.A significant proportion of patients developmetastatic disease and are initially prescribed androgen deprivation therapy(ADT).However,subsequent sequences of treatments in real-world settings that may improve overall survival remain an area of active *** and methods:Data were collected from 384 patients presenting with de novo metastatic prostate cancer from 2011 to 2015 at a tertiary cancer *** were categorized into surviving(n=232)and deceased(n=152)groups at the end of 3 *** sequence pattern mining techniques(Generalized Sequential Pattern Mining and Sequential Pattern Discovery using Equivalence Classes)were applied to determine the exact order of the most frequent sets of treatments in each ***:Degarelix,as the initial form of ADT,was uniquely in the surviving *** sequence of ADT followed by abiraterone and docetaxel was uniquely associated with a higher 3-year overall *** followed by fosfestrol was found to have a unique niche among surviving patients with a long duration of response to the initial *** who received chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy and those who received radiotherapy followed by chemotherapy were found more frequently in the deceased ***:We identified unique treatment sequences among surviving and deceased patients at the end of 3 *** should be the preferred formof *** who received ADT followed by abiraterone and chemotherapy showed better *** requiring palliative radiation and chemotherapy in any sequence were significantlymore frequent in the deceased group,identifying the need to offer such patients the most efficacious agents and to target them in clinical trial design.

Ploughing and fertilization practices in rice-wheat system have deteriorated the soil carbon (C) pools. Conservation agriculture (CA) based management approaches have proven to enhance C sequestration and reverse the loss of soil-organic-carbon (SOC), which further enhances soil fertility. Different fractions of SOC pools react to the alterations in management practices and indicate changes in SOC dynamics as compared to total C in the soil. Higher SOC levels in soil have been observed in case of reduced/no-till (NT) practices than conventional tillage (CT). However, between CT and zero tillage/NT, total SOC stocks diminished with an increase in soil depth, which demonstrated that the benefits of SOC are more pronounced in the topsoil under NT. Soil aggregation provides physical protection to C associated with different-sized particles, thus, the improvement in soil aggregation through CA is an effective way to mitigate soil C loss. Along with less soil disturbance, residual management, suitable crop rotation, rational application of manures and fertilizers, and integrated nutrient management have been found to be effective in not only improving soil C stock but also enhancing the soil health and productivity. Thus, CA can be considered as a potential method in the build-up of SOC of soil in rice-wheat system.
