This review article is written on the investigations of nanomechanical properties of coatings by using nanoindentation techniques. The focus is on the studies that were conducted on epoxy polymer, silicones and their hybrid materials. The article describes a large number of developmental studies that are conducted on coatings. Materials properties such as nanoindentation hardness, modulus, scratch, wear and viscoelastic behavior have been described. Moreover, the article summarizes various studies that mention the use of different nanoparticles in coating formulations that could improve the mechanical strength and service life span of the coatings. The mode and mechanism of material’s failure has been outlined and discussed.

In monocytic cells, Toll-like receptor 4 （TLR4）- and TLR2-induced reactive oxygen species （ROS） cause oxidative stress and inflammatory response; however, the mechanism is not well understood. The present study investigated the role of interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase （IRAK）, extracellular signal-regulated kinase （ERK）, p67phox and Nox-2 in TLR4- and TLR2-induced ROS generation during interleukin-1 beta （IL-1β） transcription, processing, and secretion. An IRAK1/4 inhibitor, U0126, PD98059, an NADPH oxidase inhibitor （diphenyleneiodonium （DPI））, and a free radical scavenger （N-acetyl cysteine （NAC））-attenuated TLR4 （lipopolysaccharide （LPS））- and TLR2 （Pam3csk4）-induced ROS generation and IL-1β production in THP-1 and primary human monocytes. An IRAK1/4 inhibitor and siRNA-attenuated LPS- and Pam3csk4-induced ERK-IRAK1 association and ERK phosphorylation and activity. LPS and Pam3csk4 also induced IRAK1/4-, ERK- and ROS-dependent activation of activator protein-1 （AP-1）, IL-1β transcription, and IL-1β processing because significant inhibition in AP-1 activity, IL-lp transcription, Pro- and mature IL-p expression, and caspase-1 activity was observed with PD98059, U0126, DPI, NAC, an IRAK1/4 inhibitor, tanshinone Ila, and IRAK1 siRNA treatment. IRAK-dependent ERK-p67phox interaction, p67phox translocation, and p67phox-Nox-2 interaction were observed. Nox-2 siRNA significantly reduced secreted IL-lp, IL-1β transcript, pro- and mature IL-1β expression, and caspase-1 activity indicating a role for Nox-2 in LPS- and Pam3csk4-induced IL-1β production, transcription, and processing. In the present study, we demonstrate that the TLR4- and TLR2-induced IRAK-ERK pathway cross-talks with p67phox-Nox-2 for ROS generation, thus regulating IL-1β transcription and orocessin; in monocvtic cells.

In a one-dimensional advection-diffusion equation with temporally dependent coefficients three cases may arise: solute dispersion parameter is time dependent while the flow domain transporting the solutes is uniform, the former is uniform and the latter is time dependent and lastly the both parameters are time dependent. In the present work analytical solutions are obtained for the last case, studying the dispersion of continuous input point sources of uniform and increasing nature in an initially solute free semi-infinite domain. The solutions for the first two cases and for uniform dispersion along uniform flow are derived as particular cases. The dispersion parameter is not proportional to the velocity of the flow. The Laplace transformation technique is used. New space and time variables are introduced to get the solutions. The solutions in all possible combinations of increasing/decreasing temporal dependence are compared with each other with the help of graphs. It has been observed that the concentration attenuation with position and time is the fastest in case of decreasing dispersion in accelerating flow field.

A deep fusion model is proposed for facial expression-based human-computer Interaction system.Initially,image preprocessing,i.e.,the extraction of the facial region from the input image is utilized.Thereafter,the extraction of more discriminative and distinctive deep learning features is achieved using extracted facial regions.To prevent overfitting,in-depth features of facial images are extracted and assigned to the proposed convolutional neural network(CNN)models.Various CNN models are then trained.Finally,the performance of each CNN model is fused to obtain the final decision for the seven basic classes of facial expressions,i.e.,fear,disgust,anger,surprise,sadness,happiness,neutral.For experimental purposes,three benchmark datasets,i.e.,SFEW,CK+,and KDEF are utilized.The performance of the proposed systemis compared with some state-of-the-artmethods concerning each dataset.Extensive performance analysis reveals that the proposed system outperforms the competitive methods in terms of various performance metrics.Finally,the proposed deep fusion model is being utilized to control a music player using the recognized emotions of the users.

Silicon(Si)is the second most abundant element in the Earth’s crust and has numerous roles in both soils and plants,although it is inaccessible to plants in its native state(insoluble silicate minerals).This inaccessibility can lead to insufficiency,which induces anomalies in plant growth and development.Specifically,Si alleviates various biotic and abiotic stresses in plants by enhancing tolerance mechanisms at different stages of uptake/deposition as a monosilicic acid.Exclusive utilization of conventional Si fertilizers to boost agricultural productivity in an attempt to meet the world’s ever-increasing food demand may result in surface and groundwater pollution,waterway eutrophication,soil fertility depletion,and accumulation of hazardous elements such as arsenic in soil.By addressing the drawbacks of chemical fertilizers,this review emphasizes an environmentally friendly alternative,namely,Si-solubilizing microorganisms(SSMs),as bioinoculants to liberate soluble Si and thus making it available to plants.A deep understanding of recent advances in the functional diversity,colonization patterns,modes of action,role in biogeochemical cycling,and plant stress tolerance of SSMs and their implementation in Si-based agrowaste management through the fabrication of nanoparticles,could help to establish a reliable tool for economically and environmentally sustainable agriculture.From this perspective,in this review,we comprehensively summarize the latest methodologies for the isolation,screening,and characterization of SSMs and Si solubilization mechanisms,including ligands(divalent cations),acids(inorganic and organic),alkali(nucleophilic attack),extracellular polysaccharides,and factors affecting them,as well as Si-mediated regulation of gene expression involved in Si uptake,transportation,and mineralization.We have critically revised the role of SSMs according to the current literature.The contributions of SSMs to biofertilization are still being explored;hence,we also discuss trajectories for future research in rel

Androgen deprivation therapy targeting the androgens/androgen receptor(AR)signaling continues to be the mainstay treatment of advanced-stage prostate cancer.The use of second-generation antiandrogens,such as abiraterone acetate and enzalutamide,has improved the survival of prostate cancer patients;however,a majority of these patients progress to castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC).The mechanisms of resistance to antiandrogen treatments are complex,including specific mutations,alternative splicing,and amplification of oncogenic proteins resulting in dysregulation of various signaling pathways.In this review,we focus on the major mechanisms of acquired resistance to second generation antiandrogens,including AR-dependent and AR-independent resistance mechanisms as well as other resistance mechanisms leading to CRPC emergence.Evolving knowledge of resistance mechanisms to AR targeted treatments will lead to additional research on designing more effective therapies for advanced-stage prostate cancer.

A simple, sensitive and validated HPTLC method has been developed to determine Niacin and simvastatin simultaneously in synthetic mixture form. Chromatographic separation was achieved on a RP18 plate using a mixture of Methanol: Water: Acetic acid (60:40:0.1) at a wavelength of 237 nm. Linearity of themethod was found to be in the concentration range of 5000.0-25000.0 μg/ml for niacin and 100.0-500.0 μg/ml for simvastatin with correlation coefficient greater than 0.999. The method can be used for simultaneous determination of Niacin and Simvastatin.

Skin lesions detection and classification is a prominent issue and difficult even for extremely skilled dermatologists and pathologists.Skin disease is the most common disorder triggered by fungus,viruses,bacteria,allergies,etc.Skin diseases are most dangerous and may be the cause of serious damage.Therefore,it requires to diagnose it at an earlier stage,but the diagnosis therapy itself is complex and needs advanced laser and photonic therapy.This advance therapy involvesfinancial burden and some other ill effects.Therefore,it must use artificial intelligence techniques to detect and diagnose it accurately at an earlier stage.Several techniques have been proposed to detect skin disease at an earlier stage but fail to get accuracy.Therefore,the primary goal of this paper is to classify,detect and provide accurate information about skin diseases.This paper deals with the same issue by proposing a high-performance Convolution neural network(CNN)to classify and detect skin disease at an earlier stage.The complete meth-odology is explained in different folds:firstly,the skin diseases images are pre-processed with processing techniques,and secondly,the important feature of the skin images are extracted.Thirdly,the pre-processed images are analyzed at different stages using a Deep Convolution Neural Network(DCNN).The approach proposed in this paper is simple,fast,and shows accurate results up to 98%and used to detect six different disease types.

On the basis of the interesting structures and biological activities exhibited by several heterocyclic systems possessing the pyridone nucleus such as mappcine and camptothecin, we have planed to design the synthesis, crystal studies and antibacterial activity of the new 1-（（2- chloroquinolin-3yl）-methyl）-pyridine-2（1H）-one building block. An X-ray analysis has provided valuable insight into the effect of steric factors on the three-dimensional shape of this compound which serves as a useful advanced intermediate in the synthesis of these biologically active molecules. A multistep synthesis of camptothecin （5） has been designed by retrosynthetic analysis as part of an ongoing program on lead anticancer drug.
