Objective:The complexity of urethral strictures can predict outcomes following *** previously described urethral stricture score(U score)considered only stricture-related factors to grade the complexity of urethral strictures and to predict recurrence post urethroplasty,but not considered patient-related factors for the *** aimed to study the correlation of both of these factors to the outcomes of oral mucosal graft ***:We retrospectively reviewed data of 101 patients who underwent oral mucosal graft urethroplasty in our institute with a minimum follow-up of 6 *** patient characteristics and stricture-related parameters were *** U score was calculated for all patients which consisted of the length,location,number,and etiology of *** and multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression models were used to determine significant risk.factors of ***:The mean follow-up of patients was 15 *** was seen in 28 patients and the mean time for detection of recurrence was 8 months of *** Charlson Comorbidity Index,history of previous intervention,length of strictures,location of strictures,number of strictures,history of smok.ng,and etiology were independent predictors of recurrence following *** on these parameters,we formulated the modified U score(MU score).The scores ranged from 0 to 6 and a score of>2 was found to be predictive of *** comparing receiver operating characteristic curves for both scores by the DeLong test,the MU score had larger area under the curve than the U ***:The MU scoring system is the first of its k.nd attempt tak.ng into consideration both patient-and stricture-related factors to predict recurrence following oral mucosal graft urethroplasty.

BACk.ROUND The interaction between the k.dney and the thyroid is important for normal function of both *** nephrotic syndrome,proteinuria leads to loss of several proteins,which in turn causes *** To assess the thyroid function in children with nephrotic *** This cross-sectional study was conducted in a tertiary center,Bhopal,from February 2020 to January *** children aged 1-15 years admitted with nephrotic syndrome(first-time diagnosed and all relapse cases)were included in the study.A thyroid profile was sent along with routine investigations,and thyroid hormone status was assessed in nephrotic syndrome *** Of the 70 patients,39(55.7%)showed abnormal thyroid profiles;19(27.1%)had overt hypothyroidism,and 20(28.6%)had subclinical *** hypothyroidism was seen in 16.1%of newly diagnosed cases,40%of second relapses,and 2.7%of frequently relapsed cases(P<0.001).The mean serum free T3 and free T4 levels in frequent relapses were 2.50±0.39 ng/dL and 0.78±0.12 ng/dL,respectively,which were significantly lower than in newly diagnosed cases(2.77±0.37 ng/dL and 0.91±0.19 ng/dL,respectively).The mean thyroidstimulating hormone(TSH)level was significantly higher in frequent relapses (5.86±1.56μIU/mL)and second relapse(5.81±1.78μIU/mL)than in newly diagnosed cases(4.83±0.76μIU/mL)and first relapse cases(4.74±1.17μIU/mL),(P<0.01).CONCLUSION An abnormal thyroid profile was commonly observed in children with nephrotic syndrome,and overt hypothyroidism was more common in frequent relapse ***,thyroid screening should be a part of the management of nephrotic syndrome so that hypothyroidism can be detected and managed at an early stage.

The yield parameters and cost economics of Withania somnifera were studied using Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) treatments. Withania somnifera is cultivated in around 10,780 ha with a production of 8429 tones in India. The annual demand of this herb increased from 7028 tones (2001-2002) to 9127 tones (2004-2005). The field experiment was conducted at the research farm of Department of Plant Physiology, College of Agriculture, Jabalpur during k.arif season of 2008-2009 (1st year) and 2009-2010 (2nd year), whereas the laboratory work.was carried out in Quality Laboratory, College of Agriculture, Jabalpur. The soil of experimental field was sandy loam in texture with pH 7.5, EC 0.18 dsm-1 having good drainage. Soil analysis revealed that available nitrogen was low (202.0 k.·ha-1) whereas available phosphorus (16.25 k.·ha-1) and potassium (236.0 k.·ha-1) were in the medium range. The present paper shows how to determine the economics of varying INM treatments. Cultivation of W. somnifera in India is gaining popularity among farmers;however, due to poor soil fertility, and costly chemical fertilizers and pesticides its production is not economical or profitable.

Latitudinal Distribution of Solar Flares and Their Association with Coronal Mass Ejections

Major solar flare events have been utilised to study the latitudinal frequency distribution of solar flares in northern and southern hemispheres for the period of 1986 to 2003. A statistical analysis has been performed to obtain the correlation between Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) and Forbush decrease (Fds) of cosmic ray intensity. Almost the same flares distribution in both hemispheres is found in association with CMEs. In a further analysis, it is noted that a larger number of CME-associated solar flares located in the northern hemisphere are found to be more effective in producing Forbush decreases.

This article deals with the optimization of process parameters for friction welding of Incoloy 800 H rod and compares the results obtained by response surface methodology（RSM） and artificial neural network.ANN）.The experiments were carried out on the basis of a five-level,four-variable central composite *** output parameters were the tensile strength and burn-off length（BOL）.They were considered as a function of four independent input variables,namely heating pressure（HP）,heating time,upsetting pressure（UP）,and upsetting *** RSM results showed that the quadratic polynomial model depicted the interconnection between individual element and *** optimizing the process parameters,ANN analysis was used,and the optimal configuration of the ANN model was found to be 4–9–*** modeling aspect,a requisite trained multilayer perceptron neural network.was rooted,and a quick.propagation training algorithm was used to train *** purpose of optimization was to decide the maximum tensile strength and minimum burn-off length of the welded joint which was done by varying the friction welding process *** order of importance of input parameters for friction welding of Incoloy 800 H was HP〉 UP〉 N〉*** predicting the model using RSM and ANN,a comparison was made for predicting the effectiveness of two *** analyzing the results,it was observed that as compared to RSM,ANN model was more specific.
