Application of the neuromuscular fatigue threshold treadmill test to muscles of the quadriceps and hamstrings

Purpose:The purposes of the present study were:(1)to determine whether the physical working capacity at the fatigue threshold(PWCFT)model that has been used for estimating the onset of neuromuscular fatigue in the vastus lateralis(VL)during incremental treadmill running could also be applied to the vastus medialis(VM),biceps femoris(BF),and semitendinosus(ST)muscles;and(2)if applicable,to compare the running velocities associated with the PWCFT among these ***:Eleven subjects(age 21.7±1.8 years)performed an incremental treadmill test to exhaustion with electromyographic signals recorded from the VL,VM,BF,and ***:The results indicated there were no significant(p>0.05)mean differences in the running velocities associated with the PWCFT for the VL(14.4±2.0 km/h),VM(14.3±1.9 km/h),BF(13.8±1.8 km/h),and ST(14.7±2.3 km/h).In addition,there were significant inter-correlations(r=0.68-0.88)among running velocities associated with the PWCFT of each *** results also indicated that 9 of the 11 subjects exhibited identical PWCFT values for at least 3 of the 4 muscles,but there were no uniform patterns for any intra-individual ***:The findings of the present study suggested that the PWCFT test is a viable method to identify neuromuscular fatigue in the quadriceps and hamstrings during incremental treadmill exercise and results in consistent PWCFT values among these muscles.

本实验研究的目的是,调查在双任务条件下一个运动系列能否被不觉察地掌握,内隐学习是否比外显学习更有效地增加保持。36名实验对象被随机分为内隐学习组或外显学习组。要求所有被试通过敲击一个键盘上的F和j键,来移动计算机屏幕上的横杆,去接住一个下落的小球。一个固定的5种小球下落曲线的系列被安插在每组15次练习的中段。同时,实验参加者需要数每组练习中的所听到的嘟嘟声的数目,以作为第二项任务。在掌握该技能后的24小时进行3次保持测验。ANOVA分析发现固定小球下落曲线段的接球成绩随着练习的增加而提高,但是练习对随机段没有作用。尽管两种练习条件下,运动技能学习成绩没有差异,但内隐学习组比外显学习组在模拟接球的保持测试和第二项任务中表现较准确。这些结果显示内隐学习是一个改善运动技能长期记忆的有效手段,并且与外显学习相比,它在练习中占用较少的认知资源。

Isomorphisms of Cubic Cayley Graphs on Dihedral Groups and Sparse Circulant Matrices

We show that,up to isomorphism,there is a unique non-CI connected cubic Cayley graph on the dihedral group of order 2n for each even number n≥*** answers in the negative the question of Li whether all connected cubic Cayley graphs are CI-graphs(Discrete Math.,256,301-334(2002)).As an application,a formula is derived for the number of isomorphism classes of connected cubic Cayley graphs on dihedral groups,which generalises the earlier formula of Huang et *** with the particular case when n is a prime(Acta ***.,***.,33,996-1011(2017)).As another application,a short proof is also given for a result on sparse circulant matrices obtained by Wiedemann and Zieve(arXiv preprint,(2007)).

Paradoxical expression pattern of the epithelial mesenchymal transition-related biomarkers CD44, SLUG, N-cadherin and VSIG1/Glycoprotein A34 in gastrointestinal stromal tumors

AIM To evaluate the immunohistochemical(IHC) expression of five biomarkers, commonly involved in epithelial mesenchymal/mesenchymal epithelial transition(EMT/MET), in gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs). METHODS In 80 consecutive GISTs the IHC examinations were performed using the EMT-related antibodies E-cadherin,N-cadherin, SLUG, V-set and immunoglobulin domain containing 1(VSIG1) and CD44. RESULTS The positivity rate was 88.75% for SLUG, 83.75% for VSIG1, 36.25% for CD44 and 10% for N-cadherin. No correlation was noted between the examined markers and clinicopathological parameters. Nuclear positivity for SLUG and VSIG1 was observed in all cases with distant metastasis. The extra-gastrointestinal stromal tumors(e-GISTs) expressed nuclear positivity for VSIG1 and SLUG, with infrequent positivity for N-cadherin and CD44. The low overall survival was mainly dependent on VSIG1 negativity(P = 0.01) and nuclear positivity for SLUG and/or CD44. CONCLUSION GIST aggressivity may be induced by nuclear upregulation of SLUG and loss or cytoplasm-to-nuclear translocation of VSIG1. SLUG and VSIG1 may act as activated nuclear transcription factors. The CD44, but not N-cadherin, might also have an independent prognostic value in these tumors. The role of the EMT/MET-related transcription factors in the evolution of GISTs, should be revisited with a larger dataset. This is the first study exploring the IHC pattern of VSIG1 in GISTs.

Bilevel programming approach to demand response management with day-ahead tariff

This paper introduces a bilevel programming approach to electricity tariff optimization for the purpose of demand response management(DRM)in smart *** the multi-follower Stackelberg game model,the leader is the profit-maximizing electricity retailer,who must set a time-of-use variable energy tariff in the *** correspond to the groups of prosumers(simultaneous producers and consumers of the electricity).They respond to the observed tariff,schedule controllable loads and determine the charging/discharging policy of their batteries to minimize the cost of electricity and to maximize the utility at the same time.A bilevel programming formulation of the problem is defined,and its fundamental properties are *** primal-dual reformulation is proposed in this paper to convert the bilevel optimization problem into a single-level quadratically constrained quadratic program(QCQP),and a successive linear programming(SLP)algorithm is applied to solve *** is demonstrated in computational experiments that the proposed approach outperforms earlier typical methods based on the KarushKuhn-Tucker(KKT)reformulation regarding both solution quality and computational efficiency on practically relevant problem ***,it also offers more flexible modeling capabilities.

Clinopyroxene-enriched upper mantle xenoliths classified as wehrlites are common(~20% of all xenoliths) in the central part of the Nograd-G(o| ")m(o|")r Volcanic Field(NGVF),situated in the northern margin of the Pannonian Basin in northern Hungary and southern *** this study,we thoroughly investigated 12 wehrlite xenoliths,two from each wehrlite-bearing occurrence,to determine the conditions of their *** textural features,including clinopyroxene-rich patches in an olivine-rich lithology,orthopyroxene remnants in the cores of newlyformed clinopyroxenes and vermicular spinel forms all suggest that wehrlites were formed as a result of intensive interaction between a metasomatic agent and the peridotite wall *** on the major and trace element geochemistry of the rock-forming minerals,significant enrichment in basaltic(Fe,Mn,Ti) and high field strength elements(Nb,Ta,Hf,Zr) was observed,compared to compositions of common lherzolite *** presence of orthopyroxene remnants and geochemical trends in rock-forming minerals suggest that the metasomatic process ceased before complete wehrlitization was *** composition of the metasomatic agent is interpreted to be a mafic silicate melt,which was further confirmed by numerical modelling of trace elements using the plate *** model results also show that the melt/rock ratio played a key role in the degree of petrographic and geochemical *** lack of equilibrium and the conclusions drawn by using variable lherzolitic precursors in the model both suggest that wehrlitization was the last event that occurred shortly before xenolith entrainment in the host mafic *** suggest that the wehrlitization and the Plio-Pleistocene basaltic volcanism are related to the same magmatic event.

Deductive way of reasoning about the internet AS level topology

Our current understanding about the AS level topology of the Internet is based on measurements and inductive-type models which set up rules describing the behavior （node and edge dynamics） of the individual ASes and generalize the consequences of these individual actions for the complete AS ecosystem using induction. In this paper we suggest a third, deductive approach in which we have premises for the whole AS system and the consequences of these premises are determined through deductive reasoning. We show that such a deductive approach can give complementary insights into the topological properties of the AS graph. While inductive models can mostly reflect high level statistics （e.g., degree distribution, clustering, diameter）, deductive reasoning can identify omnipresent subgraphs and peering likelihood. We also propose a model, called YEAS, incorporating our deductive analytical findings that produces topologies contain both traditional and novel metrics for the AS level Internet.

Complications of Learning Curve in Supratentorial Intraventricular Region. The Concept of Fast Daily Fresh Cadaver Practice. (Technical Note for Training Method)

Background: The difficulty of learning curve in different microsurgical regions is one of the most challenging factors that affect neurosurgeon’s life. Two of the delicate areas are the suprasellar intraventricular and pontocerebellar region. High level of microsurgery or endoscopic surgery requires virtuosity, which can not be learnt only by assisting. Even among the well skilled neurosurgeons who work in big centers we can often hear “in spite of centralization there are not enough operations available to keep the high level of our skills”. The situation of surgeons working at mid centers is more difficult especially on duties. Methods: Huge number of scientific articles demonstrate the importance of different types of cadaver practice, but always did not pay enough attention to the daily fast fresh cadaver exercises. Focusing on lifelong every day practice we examined the difficulties of learning curve in intraventricular and pontocerebellar region and try to give some useful advice for practicing on fresh cadavers on a daily basis. We offer a simple endovascular fresh cadaver model for practicing. Results: We have performed more than 800 quick (60 - 90 minutes long) routine practice sessions in these two regions during last 18 years. We found that implantation a modelized pathology and removing it by microscopical or endoscopic way without causing injuries to sensitive structures seems to be the most practical way of fast everyday training. Nerves and vascular bypass sutures are also excellent practical method. Conclusions: We have focused on daily fast fresh cadaver practice as a novel training method like used in professional sport and art. After 18 years experience we can state that, for mastering the microsurgery of pontocerebellar and intraventricular region, which is one of the most challenging regions minimum 100 fresh cadaver practice sessions need before performing the operation. We believe this region should be part of fast fresh cadaver microsurgical
