Numerical Study of Aeroacoustic Sound on Performance of Bladeless Fan

Aeroacoustic performance of fans is essential due to their widespread application. Therefore, the original aim of this paper is to evaluate the generated noise owing to different geometric parameters. In current study, effect of five geometric parameters was investigated on well performance of a Bladeless fan. Airflow through this fan was analyzed simulating a Bladeless fan within a 2 m×2 m×4 m room. Analysis of the flow field inside the fan and evaluating its performance were obtained by solving conservations of mass and momentum equations for aerodynamic investigations and FW-H noise equations for aeroacoustic analysis. In order to design Bladeless fan Eppler 473 airfoil profile was used as the cross section of this fan. Five distinct parameters, namely height of cross section of the fan, outlet angle of the flow relative to the fan axis, thickness of airflow outlet slit, hydraulic diameter and aspect ratio for circular and quadratic cross sections were considered. Validating acoustic code results, we compared numerical solution of FW-H noise equations for NACA0012 with experimental results. FW-H model was selected to predict the noise generated by the Bladeless fan as the numerical results indicated a good agreement with experimental ones for NACA0012. To validate 3-D numerical results, the experimental results of a round jet showed good agreement with those simulation data. In order to indicate the effect of each mentioned parameter on the fan performance, SPL and OASPL diagrams were illustrated.

One primordial consideration in residential ventilation standards is the comfort of provided to people living in those *** is highly dependent on the thermal and fluid flow conditions,the space geometry and so *** designs may reduce the energy usage,making the buildings more sustainable over a longer period of *** study aims to investigate the impact of whole day thermal conditions on the fluid flow structure and heat transfer phenomena,mainly natural convection,inside a partitioned attic-shaped *** Finite Volume Method is applied to solve the governing *** thermal boundary condition is applied on the sloping walls to illustrate the characteristics of primary flow through daily cycles.A highly thermal conductive partition was placed vertically at the middle of the *** that through the partition,only heat could freely transfer between two fluid *** show that,during day time,a stratified fluid flow structure is obtained,which originates from the prevailing conduction heat transfer mechanism,while,for the night-time it changed into a strong convection mechanism which significantly affects the flow *** results are particularly important for understanding the fluid dynamics inside the attic shaped building and also designing new residential building.

A thermodynamic-based model for modeling thermo-elastoplastic behaviors of saturated clayey soils considering bound water dehydration

The non-isothermal deformation of soft mudrocks or clay soils is one of the most critical issues in energy and environmental related ***-related geomaterials hold complex microstructure and mineral composition,which brings difficulty in investigating their thermo-mechanical *** studies pay little attention to the difference between a thermal plastic strain and the strain from clay *** this study,a new constitutive model is proposed for describing the thermoelastoplastic behaviors of clayey soils under water-saturated *** effect of temperature variation and mechanical loading on elastoplastic strains and dehydration are *** thermodynamics laws and the unconventional plasticity are applied to quantify the thermo-mechanical *** irreversible strain is captured by using Cam-Clay plasticity and subloading yield surface *** dehydration strain is described by utilizing a novel method based on generalized thermodynamics approach and Helmholtz free energy *** internal variables,and the first and second laws of thermodynamics are applied in the *** hardening rule is established by implementing the laws of physical conservation,energy dissipation,and plastic *** proposed model is validated using specially designed thermal consolidation tests on laboratory prepared heavily consolidated clayey soils and some published data of clayey soils with different geological origins.
