BACKGROUND Focal nodular hyperplasia(FNH)-like lesions are hyperplastic formations in patients with micronodular cirrhosis and a history of alcohol *** pathologically similar to hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)lesions,they are *** such,it is important to develop methods to distinguish between FNH-like lesions and *** To evaluate diagnostically differential radiological findings between FNH-like lesions and *** We studied pathologically confirmed FNH-like lesions in 13 patients with alco-holic cirrhosis[10 men and 3 women;mean age:54.5±12.5(33-72)years]who were negative for hepatitis-B surface antigen and hepatitis-C virus antibody and underwent dynamic computed tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance imaging(mRI),including superparamagnetic iron oxide(SPIO)and/or gadoxetic acid-enhanced *** patients also underwent angiography-assisted *** The evaluated lesion features included arterial enhancement pattern,washout appearance(low density compared with that of surrounding liver parenchyma),signal intensity on T1-weighted image(T1WI)and T2-weighted image(T2WI),central scar presence,chemical shift on in-and out-of-phase images,and uptake pattern on gadoxetic acid-enhanced mRI hepatobiliary phase and SPIO-enhanced *** patients had multiple small lesions(m).Radiological features of FNH-like lesions included hypervascularity despite small lesions,lack of“corona-like”enhancement in the late phase on CT during hepatic angiography(CTHA),high-intensity on T1WI,slightly high-or iso-intensity on T2WI,no signal decrease in out-of-phase images,and complete SPIO uptake or incomplete/partial uptake of gadoxetic ***,similar to HCC,FNH-like lesions showed many unpaired arteries and sinusoidal *** Overall,the present study showed that FNH-like lesions have unique radiological findings useful for differential ***,SPIO-and/or gadoxetic acid-enhanced mRI and CTHA features might facili

Cell adhesion plays pivotal roles in the morphogenesis of multicellular *** cells form several types of cell-to-cell adhesion,including zonula occludens(tight junctions),zonula adhaerens(adherens junctions),and macula adhaerens(desmosomes).Although these adhesion complexes are basically observed only in epithelial cells,cadherins,which are the major cell adhesion molecules of adherens junctions,are expressed in both epithelial and non-epithelial tissues,including neural tissues(Kawauchi,2012).The cadherin superfamily consists of more than 100 members,but classic cadherins.

This article describes the preparation and liquid crystalline properties of a new homologous series of 4-（4-bromopropyloxy）-4＇- （4-alkyloxybenzylidene）anilines in which the phenyl ring is armed by a bromopropyloxy *** thermal behavior and mesomorphic properties of the synthesized compounds were studied with particular attention given to the correlation between their phase transition temperatures and anisotropic change influenced by molecular *** the members displayed enantiotropic smectic phase except for the homologue with the longest alkyloxy chain（R = C_（18）H_（37））,exhibiting only monotropic characteristic. The presence of bromine atom from the propyloxy side chain is found to be capable of altering and influencing the mesomorphic properties.

A new homologous series of isoflavone-based ethers,7-（4-bromoalkyloxy）-3-（4＇-decyloxyprienyl）-4H-1-benzopyran-4-ones were synthesized and *** mesomorphic properties of all homologues were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry（DSC） and polarizing optical microscopy（POm）.Enantiotropic smectic A（SmA） phase was observed for all *** structure-property study was carried out by comparing the mesomorphic behavior of the homologues with those previously reported *** bromine atom from the alkyloxy side chain of the benzene ring fused to the heterocyclic moiety was found to be capable of changing the mesomorphic properties.

A series of azomethine esters,3-hydroxy-4-{[（4-iodophenyl）imino]methyl}phenyl alkanoates possessing even number of carbon atoms at the terminal alkanoyloxy chain（C_（n-1）H_（2n-1）COO-,n = 4,6,8,10,12,14） was synthesized.n-Butanoyloxy was found non-mesogenic,whilst n-hexanoyloxy to n-tetradecanoyloxy exhibited enantiotropic smectic A phase with fan-shaped *** was found that the length of terminal alkanoyloxy chain influenced the mesomorphic properties.

The Yoshii Group of the Akiyoshi terrane is distributed over the Otakeyama area, Okayama Prefecture, southwest Japan. The Yoshii Group is composed of siliceous rocks and clastics, comprising chert-clastic sequences. The Yoshii Group is divided into four structural units （Units Ot 1, Ot 2, Ot 3, and Ot 4） in structurally ascending order. Lithological similarities and radiolarian age suggest that these units exhibit almost identical ocean plate stratigraphy. These units are structurally-repeated to form an imbricate structure. This structure was possibly formed by off-scrape accretion at a toe of an accretionary complex. Additionally, a review of previous studies indicates that an imbricate structure is common in the Akiyoshi terrane. The presence of an imbricate structure in the Akiyoshi terrane, Permian accretionary complex, indicates the possibility that a specific horizon of Permian pelagic sequences acted as a drcollement zone.

The Permian planktonic distribution is not well known,in contrast to other fossil distributions of nekton and *** are representative microfossils of plankton in the Permian *** study compares both correlated radiolarian occurrences（Pseudotormentus De Wever et Caridroit and Quadriremis Nazarov et Ormiston） in literature data from the Pacific Rim and quantitative data from the Liuhuang and Gujingling sections in South *** distributions are concentrated in the Panthalassa,whereas Quadriremis occurrences are distributed over both the Panthalassa and the *** uneven distribution of Pseudotormentus seems to have been controlled by a difference in the oceanic basins,indicating the presence of faunal differences in Permian planktonic microorganisms between the Panthalassa and the *** other words,this study infers the provincialism of Permian planktonic *** uneven distribution is explainable by a hypothesis that Pseudotormentus was strongly affected by a Panthalassan equatorial current.
