Chaotic behavior can be observed in continuous and discrete-time *** behavior can appear in one-dimensional nonlinear maps;however,having at least three state variables in flows is *** to the lower mathematical complexity and computational cost of maps,lots of research has been conducted based on *** paper aims to present a novel one-dimensional trigonometric chaotic map that is multi-stable and can act *** proposed chaotic map is first analyzed using a single sinusoidal function;then,its abilities are expanded to a map with a combination of two sinusoidal *** stability conditions of both maps are investigated,and their different behaviors are validated through time series,state space,and cobweb ***,the influence of parameter variations on the maps’outputs is examined by one-dimensional and two-dimensional bifurcation diagrams and Lyapunov exponent ***,the diversity of outputs with varying initial conditions reveals this map’s *** newly designed chaotic map can be employed in encryption applications.

Effects of different gases on the performance of foams stabilized by Cocamidopropyl betaine surfactant and silica nanoparticles:A comparative experimental study

Application of CO_(2)gas in foam enhanced oil recovery(EOR)processes has emerged as a win-win strategy for achieving higher oil recovery factor and reducing greenhouse gas emission,which can significantly help the protection of the ozone layer from ***,lower stability of CO_(2)-foam,as compared to the N_(2)-and CH_(4)^(-)foams,has tempted us to examine combinations of CO_(2)with these gases to not only improve the stability of the produced foam but also have CO_(2)as the gaseous phase of the *** this study,we investigated the effect of different gases and the mixture thereof on the performance of foams in EOR while the aqueous phase of foams is a constant mixture of Cocamidopropyl betaine surfactant(0.03 wt%)and silica nanoparticle(0.1 wt%).To this end,seven different gases,including N_(2),CO_(2),CH4,80%N_(2)^(+)20%CO_(2),80%CH_(4)^(+)20%CO_(2),50%CH_(4)^(+)50%CO_(2),50%N_(2)^(+)50%CO_(2)were used as the gases phase for foam generation and the performance of the produced foams were examined through the following experiments:bulk foam stability tests,apparent foam viscosity measurements and core flooding *** results of foam stability tests showed that half-life time for the CO_(2)-,CH_(4)^(-)and N_(2)-foams are 13.5,17.0 and 44.0 min,***,as revealed from apparent viscosity measurements,the N_(2)-and 80%N_(2)^(+)20%CO_(2)foams have higher apparent foam viscosity values followed by 50%N_(2)^(+)50%CO_(2)***,we showed that a combination of 80%N_(2)^(+)20%CO_(2)as the gaseous phase for foam generation could not only improve CO_(2)-foam stability,as compared to other foams,but also can substantially increase ultimate oil recovery(56.6%OOIP),even more than that for N_(2) foam(48.6%OOIP),obtained from core flooding experiments.

MOS structure fabrication by thermal oxidation of multilayer metal thin films

A novel approach for the fabrication of a metal oxide semiconductor（MOS） structure was *** process comprises electrochemical deposition of aluminum and zinc layers on a base of nickel-chromium alloy. This two-layer structure was thermally oxidized at 400℃for 40 min to produce thin layers of aluminum oxide as an insulator and zinc oxide as a semiconductor on a metallic *** deposition parameters,device dimensions and SEM micrographs of the layers,the device parameters were *** resultant MOS structure was characterized by a C-V curve *** this curve,the device maximum capacitance and threshold voltage were estimated to be about 0.74 nF and -2.9 V,respectively,which are in the order of model-based calculations.

The recovery of pectin from citrus peel waste for application in the food,nutraceutical,pharmaceutical,and medical industries has attracted much *** has been postulated that the presence of polyphenols,sometimes regarded as an impurity,in extracted pectin might confer enhanced biological *** research study aimed at investigating the physicochemical and biological properties(antioxidant,enzyme inhibitory,and cytotoxic properties)of pectin extracted from the alcohol insoluble residues of the peel waste of grapefruit,lime,and lemon as well as the pectin recovered from untreated peel *** rheological behavior of the pectin samples was also *** methoxyl pectin with galacturonic acid content greater that 60%was recovered from the different raw *** obtained from untreated material possessed high phenolic content(19.83-5.94 mg gallic acid equivalent/g sample)and showed higher antioxidant *** against pancreatic cholesterol esterase,pancreatic lipase,andα-glucosidase was observed and pectin enriched with polyphenol showed higher *** of pectin samples to healthy Vero cells enhanced proliferation and did not show cytotoxic *** solutions extracted from untreated lime and untreated grapefruit presented highest viscosity and elastic modulus,which were comparable to those obtained for commercial high-methoxyl *** extracted from lime,lemon,and grapefruit peels possessed interesting biological and viscoelastic properties,which can be exploited for development of novel bioproducts.

Comparison of Spatial Interpolation Methods for Gridded Bias Removal in Surface Temperature Forecasts

All numerical weather prediction（NWP） models inherently have substantial biases, especially in the forecast of near-surface weather variables. Statistical methods can be used to remove the systematic error based on historical bias data at observation stations. However, many end users of weather forecasts need bias corrected forecasts at locations that scarcely have any historical bias data. To circumvent this limitation, the bias of surface temperature forecasts on a regular grid covering Iran is removed, by using the information available at observation stations in the vicinity of any given grid point. To this end, the running mean error method is first used to correct the forecasts at observation stations, then four interpolation methods including inverse distance squared weighting with constant lapse rate（IDSW-CLR）, Kriging with constant lapse rate（Kriging-CLR）, gradient inverse distance squared with linear lapse rate（GIDS-LR）, and gradient inverse distance squared with lapse rate determined by classification and regression tree（GIDS-CART）, are employed to interpolate the bias corrected forecasts at neighboring observation stations to any given location. The results show that all four interpolation methods used do reduce the model error significantly,but Kriging-CLR has better performance than the other methods. For Kriging-CLR, root mean square error（RMSE）and mean absolute error（MAE） were decreased by 26% and 29%, respectively, as compared to the raw forecasts. It is found also, that after applying any of the proposed methods, unlike the raw forecasts, the bias corrected forecasts do not show spatial or temporal dependency.

Ag recovery from copper anode slime by acid leaching at atmospheric pressure to synthesize silver nanoparticles

In this paper, recovery of silver from anode slime of Sarcheshmeh copper complex in Iran and subsequent synthesis of silver nanoparticles from leaching solution is investigated. Sarcheshmeh anode slime is mainly consisted of Cu, Ag, Pb and Se. Amount of Ag in the considered anode slime was 5.4%(by weight).The goal was to recover as much as possible Ag from anode slime at atmospheric pressure to synthesize Ag nanoparticles. Therefore, acid leaching was used for this purpose. The anode slime was leached with sulfuric and nitric acid from room to 90 °C at different acid concentrations and the run which yielded the most recovery of Ag was selected for Ag nanoparticles synthesis. At this condition, Cu, Pb and Se are leached as well as Ag. To separate Ag from leach solution HCl was added and silver was precipitated as AgCl which were then dissolved by ammonia solution. The Ag nanoparticles are synthesized from this solution by chemical reduction method by aid of sodium borohydride in the presence of PVP and PEG as stabilizers. The synthesized Ag nanoparticles showed a peak of 394 nm in UV–vis spectrum and TEM images showed a rather uniform Ag nanoparticles of 12 nm.

Effect of slope angle of an artificial pool on distributions of turbulence

Experiments were carried out over a 2-dimentional pool with a constant length of 1.5 m and four different *** distributions of velocity,Reynolds stress and turbulence intensities have been studied in this *** show that as flow continues up the exit slope,the flow velocity increases near the channel bed and decreases near the water *** flow separation was not observed by ADV at the crest of the *** addition,the length of the separation zone increases with the increasing of entrance and exit *** largest slope angle causes the maximum normalized shear *** on the experiments,it is concluded that the shape of Reynolds stress distribution is generally dependent on the entrance and exit slopes of the ***,the shape of Reynolds stress distribution is affected by both decelerating and accelerating ***,with the increase in the slope angle,secondary currents are developed and become more *** of the quadrant analysis show that the momentum between flow and bed-form is mostly transferred by sweep and ejection events.

Extraordinary adsorption of acidic fuchsine and malachite green onto cheap nano-adsorbent derived from eggshell

Removal of dyestuffs such as Acidic Fuchsine(AF)and Malachite Green(MG)being present in many forms in industries is vital to protect water reservoirs from their catastrophic effects on the *** study attempts to effectively eliminate these dyes using a low-cost and eco-friendly ***,as a biocompatible by-product,was initially characterized,then some modifications were conducted,and its morphology and chemical structure were then examined through(Atomic force microscopy)AFM,(Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy)FTIR,(Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy)EDS and(Brunauer–Emmett–Teller)BET *** revealed that the modifications on raw material gave rise to a natural nano-adsorbent presenting porous medium appropriate for targeted adsorbate molecules with the average particle size and average pore diameter of 54 and^2 nm,*** groups on the adsorbent surface were also of importance to assist the adsorption of AF and *** effect of contact time,adsorbent dose,solution p H and initial concentration was ***-second order model accurately correlated the experimental kinetic data for both ***,the participation of intra-particle diffusion along with film diffusion in controlling the process was *** isotherm model fitted very well to the equilibrium data for both dyes and maximum monolayer adsorption capacity of AF and MG was accordingly calculated to be 5000 and 3333.33 mg·g-1 *** inherent characteristics of eggshell make it a potential material to remove contaminants from wastewater in future applications.

Acoustics in urban parks:Does the structure of narrow urban parks matter in designing a calmer urban landscape?

Urban parks can function as a proper sink of noise ***,lack of universally-agreed upon methodologies and differing urban conditions have fueled controversy surrounding the effectuation of this urban park function around the ***,to address this controversy in narrow urban parks(with a mean width of∼109 m)in Isfahan City,Central Iran,noise levels(Lq30)were measured along two longitudinal transects placed along the interior northern river-and adjacent to the southern edge of the parks bordered by a heavily-conjected *** used statistical tests and models to determine the association of noise levels measured along the northern transect with the distance to,and the intensity of noise emitted from,the road,vegetation biomass,and vegetation height within two 50 and 100 m buffer rings drawn around northern sites and the richness of bird *** average Lq30 values differed significantly between the southern(∼73.21 dB)and northern(∼66.43 dB)transects and correlated negatively with species richness(r(98)=−0.324,p<0.01).Three variables including mean NDVIwithin the 100 m buffer ring,distance from the road and mean Lq30 values of the nearest three southern sites were included to build the best predictive multiple-linear regression model through the step-wise procedure with r2 of *** findings suggest that further attempts aiming to alleviate the parks’interior noise level should be attentive to distance to road,traffic at the nearest road part,and the interior vegetation characteristics.
