As an abiotic stress,adverse germination temperatures cause serious disruptions in physiological and biochemical processes involved in seed *** a factorial experiment,we examined the effects of different seed priming treatments on enzymatic and biochemical performances of rice seed germination under different *** of the rice genotypes(Hashemi,Sadry-domsefid,IRON-70-7053-7 and NORIN-22)was primed with hydro-hardening,KCl,CaCl2 and ascorbic acid(AsA)and without a priming agent as a control at low(15℃),optimum(25℃)and high(35℃)germination *** results showed that the enzymatic and biochemical performances of all the rice genotypes were affected by the seed priming agents,especially under the low germination *** 15℃,seed priming with AsA was found to be the best agent for the activities of amylase,α-amylase,catalase(CAT),peroxidase(POX),ascorbate peroxidase(APOX)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)as well as the content of soluble sugars in the NORIN-22 genotype,and for protease activity and soluble protein content in the IRON-70-7053-7 *** at the low germination temperature and CAT,POX and protease at the optimum and high germination temperatures were the most important enzymes in occurrence of germination potential in terms of seedling length,vigor index,normal seedling rate and germination *** the priming agents,the highest changes in normal seedling rate were observed at the low and optimum germination temperatures by AsA priming in the Hashemi and NORIN-22 genotypes,and at the high germination temperature under KCl priming in the Hashemi genotype.

In this paper a critical annotated checklist of 256 endemic and near endemic species belonging to 152 genera and 50 families of flowering plants known from Hyrcanian relict forests is *** maps of taxa,elevational range,number of known records,chorotypes,life forms,IUCN threat categories and habitat types are also *** chorotypes are categorized into eight main patterns:1)the Omni-Hyrcanian pattern(OH),2)West Hyrcanian pattern(WH),3)Manjil-Rudbar pattern(MR),4)Central Hyrcanian pattern(CH),5)Central and East Hyrcanian pattern(CEH),6)East Hyrcanian pattern(EH),7)Alborz-Hyrcanian pattern(AH),and 8)Euxino-Hyrcanian pattern(XH).The richness and distribution maps were generated based on 5408 records gained from herbarium specimens and literature *** life form spectra show that the majority of taxa(54.7%)belong to hemicryptophytes,followed by the tuberous,bulbous and parasitic geophytes with 45 species(17.6%)and phanerophytes with 28 taxa(10.9%).The conservation status of species according to IUCN criteria indicates that 30 taxa are Critically Endangered,52 taxa Endangered,30 taxa Vulnerable,25 taxa Near Threatened and 81 taxa are of Least *** present data were not sufficient to evaluate 38 taxa that are categorized here as Data *** new combination of Leutea translucens(=Peucedanum translucens)is validated with inclusion of Peucedanum hyrcanicum as its *** disjunct occurrence of the Caucasian species Gentiana grossheimii is reported from the eastern parts of the Hyrcanian forests in Iran for the first *** conclude that(i)the Hyrcanian forests and associated habitats in the northern slopes of the Alborz Mountains harbour tremendous floristic diversity of high conservation priority,and(ii)the Hyrcanian forest zone is an important and unique center of endemism within the Euro-Siberian region that should be considered a floristic province with a large number of relict species.

Inhibitability of soil loss and sediment concentration during consecutive rainfalls from experimental plots treated by endemic microorganisms

Consecutive rainfalls, due to changes in antecedent moisture, alter soil erosion processes, necessitating the implementation of suitable soil loss control methods. Biological soil microorganism approaches have been applied to control soil loss. However, information on the involvement of microorganisms in the soil loss and rill erosion processes has yet to be supplied. In this study, the individual and combined inoculation of cyanobacteria and bacteria was investigated during five consecutive rainfalls with an interval of three days, an intensity of 50 mm/h, and a duration of 30 min. Also, additional runoff simulation of about 2.18 ± 0.32 L/min was done in mid-sized experimental plots(i.e., 6 m × 1 m × 0.5 m) induced by rill erosion. These experiments were done at the Rainfall and Soil Erosion Simulation Laboratory of the Faculty of Natural Resources, Tarbiat Modares University, Iran. Soil loss and sediment concentration were measured during five consecutive rainfalls in the study treatments and compared with the control treatment. Results showed that the highest soil loss of 30,810.70 g occurred at the control treatment in the first rainfall. In contrast, individual and combined inoculation treatments of cyanobacteria and bacteria with the secretion of polysaccharides and resulting stability of aggregates decreased soil loss significantly(p < 0.01) by 99.65%, 99.91%, and 100.00%, respectively, compared to the control *** the combined treatment of cyanobacteria and bacteria, soil loss further decreased by 68.38%, 70.33%,and 7.27% for 2 through 4, respectively, events and increased by 19.96% in the fifth event, and sediment concentration also decreased by 68.88% and 59.86% for the second and third events, respectively and increased by 4.66% and 83.30% for the fourth and fifth events, respectively. Today,self-healing graphene-and MXene-based composites have attracted researchers due to the increase in durability as well as the cost reduction in long-time *** studies have focused on designing novel self-healing graphene-and MXenebased composites with enhanced sensitivity,stretchability,and flexibility as well as improved electrical conductivity,healing efficacy,mechanical properties,and energy conversion *** composites with self-healing properties can be employed in the field of wearable sensors,supercapacitors,anticorrosive coatings,electromagnetic interference shielding,electronic-skin,soft robotics,***,it appears that more explorations are still needed to achieve composites with excellent arbitrary shape adaptability,suitable adhesiveness,ideal durability,high stretchability,immediate self-healing responsibility,and outstanding electromagnetic ***,optimizing reaction/synthesis conditions and finding suitable strategies for functionalization/modification are crucial aspects that should be comprehensively *** and graphene exhibited superior electrochemical properties with abundant surface terminations and great surface area,which are important to evolve biomedical and sensing ***,flexibility and stretchability are important criteria that need to be improved for their future ***,the most recent advancements pertaining to the applications and properties of self-healing graphene-and MXene-based composites are deliberated,focusing on crucial challenges and future perspectives.

Runoff components are the most important factors in explaining the hydrological behaviour of a *** that the proper understanding of the runoff processes may effectively help managers and decision-makers adopt appropriate *** this regard,there are variety of approaches to handle runoff generation,but the application of environmentally friendly,biologic-based and cost-effective approaches such as soil microorganisms has been seldom *** study has therefore tried to investigate the role of inoculation of cyanobacteria on runoff components under rain simulation conditions at the mid-sized(i.e.,6×1m)plots installed at=30% slope *** treated plots were subjected to a simulated rainfall with an intensity of 50 mm h^(-1) and an initial duration of 30 min with three replica-tions.A simulated runoff of 2.18±0.32 Lmin^(-1) was also performed simultaneously on the onset of starting surface *** results showed significant differences(P<0.021)in hydrological behaviours in control and treated *** that no surface runoff was produced in treated plots up to the end of the initial duration of 30 min of simulated *** results revealed that cyanobacterization by secretion of exopolysaccharides not only postponed runoff generation but also effectively inhibited runoff com-ponents even if the rainfall incident extended for longer *** positive effect of cyanobacterization on increasing infiltration and potential storage of water beneath the soil was also verified in the present study,which suggests the profitable application of cyanobacteria for regulating hydrologic components.

Background Anosmia is one of the symptoms in individuals with SARS-CoV-2 *** anosmic patients,SARS-CoV-2 temporarily alters the signaling process in olfactory nerve cells and olfactory bulb(OB),which eventually damages the structure of the olfactory epithelium,leading to a permanent disorder in the olfactory pathway that this damaged structure is showed in MRI imaging Method Two investigators independently searched four databases consisting of PubMed,ProQuest,Scopus,and Web of Science for relevant records as of November 11,2020 with no time,space,and language *** Scholar was also searched for the related resources within the time limit of *** the found articles were reviewed based on the PRISMA flow *** studies,case reports,editorials,letters,and other non-original studies were excluded from this systematic *** Initial search yielded 434 *** reviewing the titles and abstracts,we selected 74 articles;finally,8 articles were depicted to be investigated and read in full *** obtained results showed an increase in the width and volume of the olfactory cleft(OC),complete or partial destruction of OC,and complete occlusion of OC in COVID-19 *** and degeneration as well as a subtle asymmetry were evident in the *** tomography(CT),meganetic resonance imaging(MRI),and positron emission tomography(PET)were used to detect the outcomes of anosmia in these *** The changes in OC are greater than those in OB in patients with COVID-19,mainly due to the inflammatory and immune responses in ***,fewer changes in OB are due to neurological or vascular *** steroid therapy and topical saline can be helpful.
