Supratentorial cortical ependymomas are uncommon in the pediatric population and extremely rare in very young ***,tumors of the anaplastic type are also less common in *** authors report one case of anaplastic cortical ependymoma in a 16-month-old girl who presented with a 7-day history of left side weakness and rapid neurological *** imaging with computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging scanning showed a huge right fronto-parietal cystic and solid lesion compressing the brain *** young child was operated via a transparietal approach with gross total resection of the *** tumor’s histology was anaplastic *** chemotherapy was given post operatively and the patient remained well without recurrence after 20 months of follow-up.

Primary non-Hodgkin lymphoma of the spine is very rare and occurs mostly in adults with strong male ***,we present the case of a 24-year-old girl harboring a primary diffuse B-cell lymphoma of L2 vertebral body,who was admitted in an emergency with cauda equina syndrome and completely recovered after total spondylectomy and adjuvant *** findings have never been previously reported.

Spinal intradural mature teratomas are rarely encountered in *** this report,one of the oldest patients ever reported to harbor an intradural mature teratoma of the conus medullaris is presented,and the relevant literature concerning the teratoma’s origin,clinical presentation,radiological features,and treatment modalities is reviewed.A previously healthy 70-year-old woman presented with a 2-month history of left *** neurological examination was normal and the magnetic resonance imaging of the thoracolumbar spine showed an intradural,partially cystic mass extending from T12 to L3 *** patient underwent a T11-L4 *** opening the dura,a yellowish vascular tumor attached to the conus medullaris came into *** dissection allowed for subtotal tumor *** a thin part of the tumor wall,tightly attached to the conus medullaris,was *** tumor was diagnosed as mature teratoma by histological study,and no adjunctive therapy was *** pain experienced by the patient disappeared *** condition remained unchanged with no radiological recurrence through the most recent follow-up examination,3 years after *** present study outlines that mature teratoma can arise from the conus medullaris,even in older adult *** preservation is of utmost importance,and long-term follow-up is mandatory to spot recurrences early.

The effect of cadmium, aluminum, and sulphate ions on struvite precipitation kinetics and morphology of solids obtained was investigated in this study. Thus, these ions were introduced as additives in solution where struvite precipitation was achieved. The main results obtained showed that the Cd2+ ions cause the probable co-formation, with struvite, of an amorphous phase observed from Cd2+ concentration of 10 mg/L;the addition of aluminum ions in the solution does not affect the nature of the crystalline phase, identified as struvite. However, these ions cause the formation of agglomerates of larger and larger as the concentration rises. Moreover, their increasing improved significantly the yield of phosphates removal;although the sulfate ions have no effect on the nature of the precipitated phase identified as struvite, independently of molar ratio studied, they affect the thermal decomposition of struvite. This latter is done in a single step by increasing the concentration of these ions for the SO42−/PO43−molar ratio of 8.

This paper presents the results of an experimental study on the thermal effects on glass fibre reinforced polymer （GFRP） bars embedded in concrete. The pullout test specimens were subjected to temperatures of 40℃, 60℃ and 80℃ during a continuous four months-period of time. The results were compared to the reference specimens （room temperature）. It was found that up to 60℃, the loss in bond strength due to the temperature is not significant, whereas for the 80℃-temperature a reduction of 14% in the bond strength is observed. Also, the bond-slip relationship was modelled using the CMR-model and new coefficients are proposed for the bond-slip behaviour of GFRP bars.

An advanced ANSYS FLUENT-based model was developed for hydrogen recovery from a multi-tubular fixed-bed metal hydride(MH)reactor of large-scale *** model was firstly validated by comparing its results to specific experimental *** and heat transfer processes inside the fixed bed were investigated for various pressures and thermochemical characteristics of the MH(thermal conductivity,porosity and reaction parameters).The findings were reported as average,local and spatial changes in the metal’s bed temperature and hydrogen *** the initial stage of the endothermic desorption(t<100 s),the bed temperature dropped dramat-ically in all *** this time,there was a massive emission of *** bed temperature was then raised due to the reactor’s external convective heating,while the hydrogen release continued until the MH was completely *** dehydrogenation rate of the MH was enhanced when the discharge pressure was ***,some other characteristics of the MH,i.e.,porosity,thermal conductivity,desorption rate constant and activation energy,significantly impacted the resulting mass and heat fluxes inside the bed material.

One of the likely methods for enhancing heat transfer in a latent thermal energy storage system is the conception of a thermal *** this study,the orientation of oval tubes(horizontal,vertical,and oblique)in phase change material(PCM,C_(19)-C_(20))-based shell-tube heat exchanger was analyzed with respect to the metal foam(MF)type(graphite,copper,and nickel)in comparison to the case of pure *** this purpose,a two-dimensional mathematical model was developed to investigate the thermal efficiency of the PCM-metal foam based composite energy storage *** was concluded that the orientation of the oval tubes(oblique,horizontal,and vertical)has a negligible impact on the performance of the thermal unit during the melting/solidification *** on the liquid/solid fraction,total enthalpy and the average temperature in the annular space,the performance of a heat exchanger during fusion/solidification periods is in the order:copper-MF>graphite-MF>nickel-MF>pure *** the adopted MF or the geometry of tubes,the melting process is expedited compared to the solidification mechanism.

The CD4+/CD56+ hematodermic neoplasm is a rare aggressive systemic neoplasm for which effective therapies have not yet been established, it is clinically characterized by cutaneous involvement with spread to bone marrow, blood and poor prognosis with current chemotherapy regimens. Our objective is to report diagnosis and treatment difficulties of CD4+/CD56+ hematodermic neoplasm. We describe here a Tunisian man who presented with subcutaneous ulcerated lesion localized in the right leg and multiples generalized nodules. Skin biopsy showed an atypical lymphoid cell infiltration with an angiocentric pattern and extensive necrosis by immuno-histochemical analysis, these cells were positive for CD4, CD56, granzyme B and negative for CD8, CD123, CD20 and CD30. T-cell rearrangement and Epstein-Barr-virus (EBV) in situ hybridation studies were negative. The patient underwent 5 cycles chemotherapy SMILE regimen monthly sandwiched with radiotherapy on the residual lesions of the right leg with great tolerance but he relapsed within 8months with skin, blood, bone marrow, lung, and cerebrospinal involvement. Based on these findings, the patient was diagnosed with CD4+/CD56+ hematodermic neoplasm (blastic NK-like T-cell lymphoma) treated with one course of hyper-CVAD regimen, he died within 20 days with a septic chok. Despite the use of L-Asparaginase and radiotherapy the prognosis is very poor;we suggest the exploration for highly active drugs, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is crucial to improve survival.

A 40-year-old man presented recurrent cough and bloody sputum for 4 months. Chest X-ray showed a large mass in the right upper lobe. Histopathologic examination of tissue from percutaneous biopsy of the lesion revealed actinomycotic granules and branching filamentous bacteria, and therefore pulmonary actinomycosis was diagnosed. These findings suggest that pulmonary actinomycosis should be included in the differential diagnosis of a mass on a chest X-ray film.
