Phenolic Profile and Volatiles of in vitro Propagated Lavandula angustifolia ***

An effective in vitro propagation protocol was designed for Lavandula angustifolia Miller,a medicinal aromatic plant that is a prominent source of volatile organic compounds(VOCs).Murashige and skoog media were supplemented with various concentrations of Plant Growth Regulators(PGRs),and the growth parameters of the nodal segments were *** explants formed callus when they were supplemented with 2 mg/L of 6-Benzylaminopurine(BAP).The superior hormonal concentration of Murashige and skoog(Ms)media for the proliferation of shoots from callus cultures(39.33%)was 5 mg/L of 2-Isopentenyl adenine(2iP),and the favorable media for the growth of *** callus cultures was 1 and 2 mg/L of BAP,with a 98%for-mation rate in each *** callus cultures and in vitro propagated *** seedlings obtained from var-ious PGR concentrations of Ms media were exposed to qualitative and quantitative analysis in terms of phenolic proﬁles,ﬂavonoids,High-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)analysis of phenolic acids,and headspace-sPME analysis for *** analysis revealed that micropropagated seedlings grown in media containing 1 mg/L of 6-Furfurylaminopurine(KIN)accumulated the highest yield(11.95±0.01 mg GAE/g)of phenolic *** contrast,the lowest concentration(2.17±0.04 mg GAE/g)was detected in 0.5 mg/L of BAP+0.5 mg/L of Naphthaleneacetic acid(NAA)*** plantlets grown in 0.5 mg/L of BAP+0.5 mg/L of NAA media showed the highestﬂavonoid yield(31.67±0.06μg/g QE/g).In contrast,callus samples exhibited the lowest yield(11.59±0.02μg/g QE/g)ofﬂavonoids in Ms media supplemented with a concentration of 0.5 mg/L of *** analysis revealed the variability of phenolic acid contents within the callus cultures as well as plantlets,with gallic acid,4-OH benzoic acid,chlorogenic acid,vanillic acid,caffeic acid,cinnamic acid,and rosmarinic acid being the prominent *** presence of twenty-two chemicals was revealed by headspace-sPME ***

Ground state energy of He isoelectronic sequence treated variationally via Hylleraas-like wavefunction

In this study, the energy for the ground state of helium and a few helium-like ions （Z=1-6） is computed variationally by using a Hylleraas-like wavefunction. A four-parameters wavefunction, satisfying boundary conditions for coalescence points, is combined with a Hylleraas-like basis set which explicitly incorporates r12 interelectronic distance. The main contribution of this work is the introduction of modified correlation terms leading to the definition of integral transforms which provide the calculation of expectation value of energy to be done analytically over single-particle coordinates instead of Hylleraas coordinates.

spin texturing in a parabolically confined quantum wire with Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit interactions

In this study, we investigate theoretically the effect of spin-orbit coupling on the energy level spectrum and spin texturing of a quantum wire with a parabolic confining potential subjected to the perpendicular magnetic field. Highly accurate numerical calculations have been carried out using a finite element method. Our results reveal that the interplay between the spin-orbit interaction and the effective magnetic field significantly modifies the band structure, producing additional subband extrema and energy gaps. Competing effects between external field and spin-orbit interactions introduce comp｜ex features in spin texturing owing to the couplings in energy subbands. We obtain that spatia~ modulation of the spin density along the wire width can be considerably modified by the spin-orbit coupling strength, magnetic field and charge carrier concentration.

Evaluation of Attitudes of Family Physicians toward Occupational Health and Occupational Diseases in Türkiye

Background/Aim: This study evaluated family physicians’ attitudes toward occupational health and disease in Türkiye. Materials and Methods: The study is cross-sectional and descriptive in a quantitative research design. The “Attitude scale for Physicians toward Occupational Health and Occupational Diseases” developed by Kolcu et al. was used in the study (Cronbach’s α 0.94). Our study aimed to sample the entire country using the stratified sample selection based on geographical region. 349 family physicians were included in the study according to sample size (n: 349). Results: The mean age of the participants in the study was 37.77 ± 8.96 (min: 27, max: 65 years). Of the participants, 65.2% were male. Of the physicians, 33.8% were family medicine specialists, and 38.8% had occupational physician certificates. It was determined that the level of attitude of family physicians toward occupational diseases was insufficient. It was also found that awareness increased as age increased, and awareness and attitude levels did not change according to gender. No significant difference was found in the scale total scores and subdimensions of family physicians’ occupational health and occupational disease attitudes according to the regions they worked in Türkiye. Conclusion: It has been concluded that there is no difference in awareness among family physicians in regions where it is much more important to diagnose an occupational disease, especially in industrial regions. The number of family physicians with occupational physician certificates was very insufficient, and a significant number of those who had occupational physician certificates did not practice occupational medicine.

Effects of an Intense Laser Field and Hydrostatic Pressure on the Intersubband Transitions and Binding Energy of shallow Donor Impurities in a Quantum Well

We have calculated the intersubband transitions and the ground-state binding energies of a hydrogenic donor impurity in a quantum well in the presence of a high-frequency laser field and hydrostatic *** calculations are performed within the effective mass approximation,using a variational *** conclude that the laser field amplitude and the hydrostatic pressure provide an important effect on the electronic and optical properties of the quantum *** to the results obtained from the present work,it is deduced that(i)the binding energies of donor impurity decrease as the laser field increase,(ii)the binding energies of donor impurity increase as the hydrostatic pressure increase,(iii)the intersubband absorption coefficients shift toward lower energies as the hydrostatic pressure increases,(iv)the magnitude of absorption coefficients decrease and also shift toward higher energies as the laser field *** is hopeful that the obtained results will provide important improvements in device applications.

Ground state energy of excitons in quantum dot treated variationally via Hylleraas-like wavefunction

In this work, the effects of quantum confinement on the ground state energy of a correlated electron-hole pair in a spherical and in a disc-like quantum dot have been investigated as a function of quantum dot size. Under parabolic confinement potential and within effective mass approximation Ritz＇s variational method is applied to Hylleraas-like trial wavefunction. An efficient method for reducing the main effort of the calculation of terms like τekh exp （-λτeh） is introduced. The main contribution of the present work is the introduction of integral transforms which provide the calculation of expectation value of energy and the related matrix elements to be done analytically over single-particle coordinates instead of Hvlleraas coordinates.

Fourier transform technique in variational treatment of two-electron parabolic quantum dot

In this work, we propose an efficient method of reducing the computational effort of variational calculation with a Hylleraas-like trial wavefunction. The method consists of introducing integral transforms for the terms as r12^κ exp （-λτ12） which provide the calculation of the expectation value of energy and the relevant matrix elements to be done analytically over single-electron coordinates instead of Hylleraas coordinates. We have used this method to calculate the ground state energy of a two-electron system in a spherical dot and a disk-like quantum dot separately. Under parabolic confinement potential and within effective mass approximation size and shape effects of quantum dots on the ground state energy of two electrons have been investigated. The calculation shows that our results even with a small number of basis states are in good agreement with previous theoretical results.

Comparison of corneal endothelial changes following phacoemulsification with transversal and torsional phacoemulsification machines

AIM:To compare and evaluate the phacoemulsification parameters and postoperative endothelial cell changes of two different phacoemulsification machines, each with different modes, but also to assess the relationship between postoperative endothelial cell loss and the phacoemulsification parameters, as well as the other factors in both ***:This prospective observational study was comprised of consecutive eligible cataract patients operated with phacoemulsification technique performed by the same surgeon using either a WHITEsTAR signature Ellips FX(transversal, group 1) or Infiniti OZil IP(torsional, group 2) ***:The study included 86 patients. Baseline characteristics in the groups were similar. The median nuclear sclerosis grade was 3(2-4) in the first group and2(2-4) in the second group(P =0.265). Both groups had similar phacoemulsification needle times(group 1: 60.63±36 s; group 2: 55.98±30 s; P =0.789). The percentage of endothelial cell loss 30 d after surgery ranged from 3% to15% with a median of 7% in group 1, and from 2% to13% with a median of 6% in group 2; however, there was no statistically significant difference between the groups(P =0.407). Hexagonality(P =0.794) and the coefficient of variation(CV; P =0.142) did not differ significantly between the groups before and 30 d after surgery. Asignificant positive correlation was found between the endothelial cell loss and nuclear sclerosis grade(group1: P ss and average phacoemulsification power(group 1: P =0.007; group 2: P =0.008).CONCLUsION:Both of these machines were efficient,with similar endothelial cell loss. This endothelial cell loss was related to the increased nuclear sclerosis grade and increased phacoemulsification power.
