In recent years, due to an increasing number of extreme meteorological events, the urgent need to use artificial intelligence in their management has emerged. The ability to handle and prevent such events requires disaster management. Artificial intelligence is extensively used in forecasting and preparing for disasters, as well as for mitigating and minimizing damage and in the response phase to effectively help in better and more rapid responses to disasters. This paper examines to identify the uses of artificial intelligence technologies in reducing the impact of various disasters and seeks to investigate the possibility of linking artificial intelligence technologies based on information and communication technology and reducing the effects of disasters. We conclude the paper with the challenges facing artificial intelligence technologies.

Climate change can escalate rainfall intensity and cause further increase in sediment transport in arid lands which in turn can adversely affect water quality. Hence, there is a strong need to predict the fate of sediments in order to provide measures for sound erosion control and water quality management. The presence of micro- topography on hillslopes influences processes of runoff generation and erosion, which should be taken into account to achieve more accurate modelling results. This study presents a physically based mathematical model for erosion and sediment transport coupled to one-dimensional overland flow equations that simulate rainfall-runoff generation on the rill and interrill areas of a bare hillslope. Modelling effort at such a fine resolution considering the flow con- nection between Jnterrill areas and rills is rarely verified. The developed model was applied on a set of data gath- ered from an experimental setup where a 650 cm×136 cm erosion flume was pre-formed with a longitudinal rill and interrJll having a plane geometry and was equipped with a rainfall simulator that reproduces natural rainfall characteristics. The flume can be given both longitudinal and lateral slope directions. For calibration and validation, the model was applied on the experimental results obtained from the setup of the flume having 5% lateral and 10% longitudinal slope directions under rainfall intensities of 105 and 45 mm/h, respectively. Calibration showed that the model was able to produce good results based on the R2 （0.84） and NSE （0.80） values. The model performance was further tested through validation which also produced good statistics （R2=0.83, NSE=0.72）. Results in terms of the sedigraphs, cumulative mass curves and performance statistics suggest that the model can be a useful and an important step towards verifying and improving mathematical models of erosion and sediment transport.

Nowadays, the world is frequently referred to as the “information world”. Companies rely on knowledge to differentiate themselves and get a competitive advantage. As a result, businesses pay close attention to knowledge management and devote a significant amount of time and resources to ensuring that knowledge is appropriately owned and exploited. Individual knowledge transfer is also a factor. The paper examines knowledge transfer and sharing, with the goal of determining the most effective internal communication tool for information transfer. The research findings should aid company management in organizing internal communication in a way that allows them to carry out their knowledge management plan.

Ocular findings in children with thalassemia major in Eastern Mediterranean

AIM: To investigate ophthalmologic findings in children with thalassemia major(TM) and compare the findings with healthy controls. ·METHODS: In a cross-sectional study,43 children with thalassemia major from pediatric hematology outpatient clinics from two university hospitals and age/sex matched 47 healthy children were included in the study. After a complete ophthalmic examination,tear function tests including the Schirmer test,fluorescein tear breakup time(BUT),ultrasound pachymetry,and axial length measurement were performed. Obtained data was recorded for statistical analysis and the values of right eyes were compared between groups. ·RESULTS: The mean best corrected visual acuity was 1.34 ±0.75 in TM and 1.08 ±0.28 in controls. It was found lower than 0.1 logMAR unit in 10(23.2%) children with TM and 2(4.2%) in controls,and the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05). The mean axial length was 22.53±0.50 in TM and 22.57±0.43mm in the control group. The mean Schirmer test score was 19.94±6.91 in TM and 24.22±3.95mm in the control group(P 0.05). ·CONCLUSION: In TM,while corneal thickness,axial length,and BUT are close to controls,the Schirmer scores are less than normal. The study revealed that TM may be affected by the tear function and visual acuity.

Effect of human milk and colostrum on Entamoeba histolytica

AIM:Many defense factors of the mother's colostrum or milk protect infants from intestinal, respiratory and systemic infections. In the present study, we investigated the effect of colostrum and mature human milk on E. histolytica parasites in ***:Samples of human milk were collected from 5 healthy lactating *** medium with human milk at concentrations of 2%, 5% and 10% was ***:The lethal effect of E. histolytica on the medium supplemented with different concentrations of both colostrum and mature human milk was significant during the first 30min. We also detected that the results of colostrum and mature human milk were similar. No statistically significant differences were found between same concentrations of colostrum and mature human milk at the same ***:Colostrum and mature human milk have significant lethal effect on E. histolytica and protect against its infection in breast fed children.

The phytogeny of the primary-symbionts of eight species belonging to the three subgenera of Glossina was studied based on their 16S rDNA sequences. The results show that these organisms constitute a distinct lineage within the gamma-subdivision of Proteobacteria and have evolved concordantly with their insect host species, suggesting an evolutionarily ancient association for this symbiosis. Based on their almost identical 16S rDNA sequences, the S-en-dosymbionts from five tsetse species belonging to the three subgenuses should be considered as closely related microorganisms . They are the members of the family Enterobacteriaceae within 7-3 subdivision of the Proteobacteria, closely related to enteric bacteria. This high similarity among the S-endosymbionts from different hosts provides strong evidence that the symbiosis acquisition is developed independently by S-endosymbionts of individual tsetse species.

AIM: To explore the prevalence of amebiasis in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in ***: In this study, amoeba prevalence in 160 cases of IBD, 130 of ulcerative colitis and 30 of Crohn′s disease were investigated in fresh faeces by means of wet mount+Lugol′s iodine staining, modified formol ethyl acetate and trichrome staining methods and to compare the diagnostic accuracy of wet mount+Lugol′s iodine staining,modified formol ethyl acetate and trichrome staining methods in the diagnosis of Entamoeba histolytica (E. histolytica)/Entamoeba dispar (E. dispar).RESULTS: E. histolytica/E. dispar cysts and trophozoites were found in 14 (8.75 %) of a total of 160 cases, 13 (10.0 %)of the 130 patients with ulcerative colitis and 1 (3.3 %) of the 30 patients with Crohn′s disease. As for the 105 patients in the control group who had not any gastrointestinal complaints, 2 (1.90 %) patients were found to have ***/E. dispar cysts in their faeces. Parasite prevalence in the patient group was determined to be significantly higher than that in the control group (Fischer′s Exact Test, P＜0.05).When the three methods of determining parasites were compared with one another, the most effective one was found to be trichrome staining method (Kruskal-Wallis Test, P＜0.01).CONCLUSION: Consequently, amoeba infections in IBD cases have a greater prevalence compared to the normal population. The trichrome staining method is more effective for the detection of E. histolytica/E. dispar than the wet mount+Lugol′s iodine staining, modified formol ethyl acetate methods.
