Freshwater habitats and organisms are among the most threatened on Earth, and freshwater ecosystems have been subject to large biodiversity losses. We developed a Climate Change Sensitivity （CCS） indicator based on trait information for a selection of stream- and lake-dwelling Ephemeroptera, Plecoptera and Trichoptera taxa. We calculated the CCS scores based on ten species traits identified as sensitive to global climate change. We then assessed climate change sensitivity between the six main ecoregions of Sweden as well as the three Swedish regions based on lilies. This was done using biological data from 1,382 stream and lake sites where we compared large-scale （ecoregional） patterns in climate change sensitivity with potential future exposure of these ecosystems to increased temperatures using ensemble-modelled future changes in air temperature. Current （1961-1990） measured temperature and ensemble-modelled future （2100） temperature showed an increase from the northernmost towards the southern ecoregions, whereas the predicted temperature change increased from south to north. The CCS indicator scores were highest in the two northernmost boreal ecoregions where we also can expect the largest global climate change-induced increase in temperature, indicating an unfortunate congruence of exposure and sensitivity to climate change. These results are of vital importance when planning and implementing management and conservation strategies in freshwater ecosystems, e.g., to mitigate increased temperatures using riparian buffer strips. We conclude that traits information on taxa specialization, e.g., in terms of feeding specialism or taxa having a preference for high altitudes as well as sensitivity to changes in temperature are important when assessing the risk from future global climate change to freshwater ecosystems [Current Zoology 60 （2）： 221-232, 2014].

Introduction: Pregnancy as much as childbirth constitutes a risky situation, potentially fraught with sometimes dramatic complications: maternal death. Objective: We conducted this study with the aim of establishing the profile of those giving birth in our context with the aim to anticipate operationally in the future on morbidity but more on maternal deaths. Methodology: We conducted, using a structured questionnaire, a prospective descriptive study in representative maternity wards in the city of Douala;the study variables were socio-economic, anthropometric, obstetrical and clinical. Statistical analyses were carried out with CS Pro 7.3 and SPSS version 25.0 software. The Student, Chi-square and Fischer tests were used to compare the means of the variables and the percentages. Results: We recruited 305 births for our study. The average age of our births was 28.7 years ± 6.1 with an average height of 161.6 cm ± 5.06;an average body mass index at the start of pregnancy of 28.0 kilograms/square meter and 31.3 kilograms/square meter at delivery;the average weight gain was 8.4 g ± 5.37;an average gestation of 2.84±1.90;an average parity of 2.2 ± 2.1 with an average birth interval of 27.7 months ± 23.7. The average gestational age was 39.2 weeks ± 1.21 with pregnancy pathology dominated by malaria;85.9% began their prenatal follow-up before the 14th week of amenorrhea. Conclusion: The profile of childbirth in urban Cameroon does not seem potentially dystocic compared to that of the same regional and racial area.

Introduction: Females with sickle cell disease (SCD), despite having a delayed pubertal development, are subject to many worries relating to their abilities to conceive, their capacity to maintain a maternofetal-risk-free pregnancy till term and give birth to healthy children without sickle cell disease. Knowing that unplanned pregnancies are more likely to increase maternofetal morbidity and mortality, we sought out to explore the pregnancy preferences in female patients with sickle cell disease to promote healthy conception and childbirth in this vulnerable population. Methodology: We conducted a cross-sectional study involving female patients of child-bearing age with sickle cell disease followed at Laquintinie Hospital Douala or who were members of a local sickle cell association. Pregnancy preferences were determined using the Desire to Avoid Pregnancy (DAP) scale. Factors associated with pregnancy preferences were determined using multivariable linear regression model. Threshold for significance was set at p Results: Seventy-seven patients were included with a mean age of 24.71 ± 5.53 years. Forty patients (51.95%) had one sexual partner and thirteen women (32.5%) used contraceptive methods. Most patients (46.0%) responded “Strongly Agree” or “Agree” to the statement “it would be a good thing for me if I became pregnant in the next 3 months”. The mean DAP score was 1.63 ± 0.91 [1.28 ± 0.82 in those who had a sexual partner and 1.99 ± 0.86 in those who had no sexual partner]. Factors that were positively associated with DAP score were students (b = 0.32, 95% CI [0.21, 0.95], p = 0.003), monthly income ≥ 100,000 FCFA (b = 0.24, 95% CI [0.07, 0.81], p = 0.022), and not having a sexual partner (b = 0.26, 95% CI [0.11, 0.85], p = 0.012). Conclusion: Most female patients with SCD have a low desire to avoid pregnancy. This is especially true for patients who are not students, have a partner and have a low monthly income.

Background Children and adolescents are at particular risk for adverse drug reactions(ADRs).We investigated physicians’perceptions on ADRs in pediatric routine *** In this exploratory study from April to November 2020,we invited physicians treating pediatric patients across Germany to complete an online questionnaire consisting mainly of closed *** Completion rate was 98%(127/129).Of all participants,23%(29/127)stated they were not able to estimate how many of their pediatric patients experienced ADRs during drug *** remaining physicians estimated that 7.5%(median;Q25/Q753%/20%)of their pediatric patients were afected by *** counseling on ADRs,61%(77/127)stated they do not ask regularly the extent to which parents want to be *** total,26%(33/127)stated they avoid counseling on ADRs concerning commonly used approved therapies,whereas only 4%(5/127)did so concerning of-label use(P<0.001).Altogether,16%(20/127)stated they rather prescribe new medicines as they hope for better efectiveness;72%(91/127)said they are cautious about doing so owing to yet unknown *** all respondents,46%(58/127)stated they do not report ADRs to the *** the black triangle symbol,a European pharmacovigilance measure,11%(14/127)stated they knew it and 6%(7/127)stated they reported any suspected ADR for drugs with that *** Physicians’perspectives on ADRs were ambivalent:ADRs infuenced their parent counseling and drug prescribing;yet,they struggled to estimate the impact of ADRs on their patients and were not aware of specifc pharmacovigilance measures.

Background Atrial fibrillation （AF） is the most frequent arrhythmia, and its prevalence is increasing with aging. We aimed to com-pare the long-term outcome data of patients 〈 65 years vs.≥ 65 years who underwent catheter ablation （CA） for drug-refractory AF. MethodsConsecutive patients with primary pulmonary vein isolation performed between March 2001 and December 2011, and those who completeda five-year of follow-up were divided into two groups： patients aged 〈 65 years into group 1, and patients aged ≥ 65 into group 2. Long-termoutcome data concerning mortality, thromboembolic events （TE） and success rates were compared between these groups. Results A totalnumber of 390 patients were included, group 1 contained 310 patients, and 80 patients in group 2. In group 2, patients had more often impairedrenal function （P 〈 0.001） and thyroid disease （P = 0.047）. A total of fifteen patients died during the 6.63 ± 2.1 years of follow-up, with a sig-nificantly higher incidence in the older group （8/80 vs. 7/310 patients, P = 0.004）. The majority of fatal outcome was due to cancerous dis-eases in both groups. No difference was observed concerning the long-term TE rate （12/310 vs. 4/80 patients, P = 0.75）. Rhythm controlfailed in 25.9% of the patients, with no difference between the groups： 26.4% in group 1 vs. 23.7% in group 2 （P = 0,67）, ConclusionsDespite growing prevalence of AF in aging population, the elderly patients are underrepresented in CA procedures. Similar clinical successand TE complication rate are observed between the age-groups. Our data suggest more liberal criteria might be applied while selecting pa-tients for AF ablation.
