Connected Components-based Colour Image Representations of Vibrations for a Two-stage Fault Diagnosis of Roller Bearings Using Convolutional Neural Networks

Roller bearing failure is one of the most common faults in rotating *** techniques for bearing fault diagnosis based on faults feature extraction have been *** feature extraction from fault signals requires expert prior information and human ***,deep learning algorithms have been applied extensively in the condition monitoring of rotating machines to learn features automatically from the input *** its robust performance in image recognition,the convolutional neural network(CNN)architecture has been widely used to learn automatically discriminative features from vibration images and classify health *** paper proposes and evaluates a two-stage method RGBVI-CNN for roller bearings fault *** first stage in the proposed method is to generate the RGB vibration images(RGBVIs)from the input vibration *** begin this process,first,the 1-D vibration signals were converted to 2-D grayscale vibration *** the conversion was completed,the regions of interest(ROI)were found in the converted 2-D grayscale vibration ***,to produce vibration images with more discriminative characteristics,an algorithm was applied to the 2-D grayscale vibration images to produce connected components-based RGB vibration images(RGBVIs)with sets of colours and texture *** the second stage,with these RGBVIs a CNN-based architecture was employed to learn automatically features from the RGBVIs and to classify bearing health *** cases of fault classification of rolling element bearings are used to validate the proposed *** results of this investigation demonstrate that RGBVI-CNN can generate advantageous health condition features from bearing vibration signals and classify the health conditions under different working loads with high ***,several classification models trained using RGBVI-CNN offered high performance in the testing results of the overall classification accura

The success of deep transfer learning in fault diagnosis is attributed to the collection of high-quality labeled data from the source ***,in engineering scenarios,achieving such high-quality label annotation is difficult and *** incorrect label annotation produces two negative effects:1)the complex decision boundary of diagnosis models lowers the generalization performance on the target domain,and2)the distribution of target domain samples becomes misaligned with the false-labeled *** overcome these negative effects,this article proposes a solution called the label recovery and trajectory designable network(LRTDN).LRTDN consists of three ***,a residual network with dual classifiers is to learn features from cross-domain ***,an annotation check module is constructed to generate a label anomaly indicator that could modify the abnormal labels of false-labeled samples in the source *** the training of relabeled samples,the complexity of diagnosis model is reduced via semi-supervised ***,the adaptation trajectories are designed for sample distributions across *** ensures that the target domain samples are only adapted with the pure-labeled *** LRTDN is verified by two case studies,in which the diagnosis knowledge of bearings is transferred across different working conditions as well as different yet related *** results show that LRTDN offers a high diagnosis accuracy even in the presence of incorrect annotation.

Recently,intelligent fault diagnosis based on deep learning has been extensively investigated,exhibiting state-of-the-art ***,the deep learning model is often not truly trusted by users due to the lack of interpretability of“black box”,which limits its deployment in safety-critical applications.A trusted fault diagnosis system requires that the faults can be accurately diagnosed in most cases,and the human in the deci-sion-making loop can be found to deal with the abnormal situa-tion when the models *** this paper,we explore a simplified method for quantifying both aleatoric and epistemic uncertainty in deterministic networks,called *** SAEU,Multivariate Gaussian distribution is employed in the deep architecture to compensate for the shortcomings of complexity and applicability of Bayesian neural *** on the SAEU,we propose a unified uncertainty-aware deep learning framework(UU-DLF)to realize the grand vision of trustworthy fault ***,our UU-DLF effectively embodies the idea of“humans in the loop”,which not only allows for manual intervention in abnor-mal situations of diagnostic models,but also makes correspond-ing improvements on existing models based on traceability ***,two experiments conducted on the gearbox and aero-engine bevel gears are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of UU-DLF and explore the effective reasons behind.

Research on Indoor Positioning Technology of WSN based on T-RL Partition Path Model

To address the issues of unstable received signal strength indicator(RSSI)and low indoor positioning accuracy caused by walls and obstacles,the propagation conditions of the wireless communication system are categorized into two distinct environments:line-of-sight(LOS)and non-line-of-sight(NLOS).In the LOS environment,the traditional logarithmic path loss model is *** the NLOS environment,the impact of walls on signal transmission is considered,leading to the development of a multi-wall path loss model based on the T-RL method,with improvements made to the key parameter,the Fresnel coefficient *** breakpoint value d=2.3 m in the partitioned model is determined,and the positional coordinates of the unknown nodes are calculated using the trilateration *** results indicate that the T-RL based multi-wall model improves localization accuracy by 47%in NLOS environments compared to the traditional logarithmic path loss *** average localization error using the T-RL partitioned path loss model is 0.7021 m,representing a 55.9%improvement over the logarithmic path loss model and a 16.8%enhancement over the T-RL attenuation multi-wall model,thereby providing better environmental adaptability.

Aerial scene recognition(ASR)has attracted great attention due to its increasingly essential *** of the ASR methods adopt the multi‐scale architecture because both global and local features play great roles in ***,the existing multi‐scale methods neglect the effective interactions among different scales and various spatial locations when fusing global and local features,leading to a limited ability to deal with challenges of large‐scale variation and complex background in aerial scene *** addition,existing methods may suffer from poor generalisations due to millions of to‐belearnt parameters and inconsistent predictions between global and local *** tackle these problems,this study proposes a scale‐wise interaction fusion and knowledge distillation(SIF‐kD)network for learning robust and discriminative features with scaleinvariance and background‐independent *** main highlights of this study include two *** the one hand,a global‐local features collaborative learning scheme is devised for extracting scale‐invariance features so as to tackle the large‐scale variation problem in aerial scene ***,a plug‐and‐play multi‐scale context attention fusion module is proposed for collaboratively fusing the context information between global and local *** the other hand,a scale‐wise knowledge distillation scheme is proposed to produce more consistent predictions by distilling the predictive distribution between different scales during *** experimental results show the proposed SIF‐kD network achieves the best overall accuracy with 99.68%,98.74%and 95.47%on the UCM,AID and NWPU‐RESISC45 datasets,respectively,compared with state of the arts.

It has been an established fact that comminution processes, crushing and grinding, are most energy intensive processes which account for more than half of the total energy consumed in mineral *** alternative pre-treatment methods have been tried by experts around the globe. Although these methods yielded positive results in terms of reduction in energy consumption in crushing and particularly, in grinding operations at laboratory scale, their industrial application still remains an unresolved issue and challenge. Present review paper describes each one of these methods along with outcome of earlier studies and issues that need to be addressed through further rigorous experimental *** also suggests the direction in which future studies can be carried out to meet the primary objective of making comminution processes more energy efficient than today they are.

Allelopathic effects of Mikania cordata on forest and agricultural crops in Bangladesh

Mikania cordata, an invasive weed is becom- ing a problem in the secondary degraded forests and plantations of Bangladesh, not only competing with but also releasing allelochemicals to cultivated crops. Allelo- pathic effects of the leaves of M. cordata were investigated through an experiment in the green house of the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, University of Chit- tagong, Bangladesh. Five economically important agricul- tural crops （Oryza sativa L., Triticum aestivum L., Vigna sinensis L., Abelmoschus esculentus L. and Amaranthus tricolor L.） and three forest crops （Acacia auriculiformis A. Cunn. ex Benth. ＆ Hook, Albizia procera （Roxb.） Benth., and Paraserianthes falcataria （L.） Nielson） were used as bioassay species. Experiments were conducted on trays at an average room temperature 27 ~C. The effects of dif- ferent concentrations of leaf extracts were compared to controls. Water soluble allelochemicals of M. cordata inhibited the germination and initial growth of the tested agricultural and forest crops. Germination percent of forest crops declined with increasing concentration of extracts. The inhibitory effect on root elongation of forest crops was pronounced, whereas a stimulatory effect was found on P. falcataria up to a concentration of 25 %. Abelmoschus esculentus showed poor germination （%） and low shoot development （0.5 cm） and no development of taproot or lateral roots at treatment of 100 % concentration. Theinhibitory effect was proportional to the concentrations of the extracts with higher concentrations producing stronger inhibitory effects. Lower concentrations showed some stimulatory effect. The inhibitory effect was pronounced in root and lateral root development rather than germination or shoot development of the crops. Mikania cordata should be eradicated for healthy growth and development of the forest and adjacent agricultural crops.

Binding interaction of phosphorus heterocycles with bovine serum albumin:A biochemical study

Interaction between bovine serum albumin(BSA) and phosphorus heterocycles(PHs) was studied using multispectroscopic techniques. The results indicated the high binding affinity of PHs to BSA as it quenches the intrinsic fluorescence of BSA. The experimental data suggested the fluorescence quenching mechanism between PHs and BSA as a dynamic quenching. From the UV–vis studies, the apparent association constant(k_(app)) was found to be 9.25×10~2, 1.27×10~4and 9.01×10~2L/mol for the interaction of BSA with PH-1, PH-2 and PH-3,respectively. According to the F?rster's non-radiation energy transfer(FRET) theory, the binding distances between BSA and PHs were calculated. The binding distances(r) of PH-1, PH-2 and PH-3 were found to be2.86, 3.03, and 5.12 nm, respectively, indicating energy transfer occurs between BSA and PHs. The binding constants of the PHs obtained from the fluorescence quenching data were found to be decreased with increase of temperature. The negative values of the thermodynamic parameters ΔH, ΔS and ΔG at different temperatures revealed that the binding process is spontaneous; hydrogen bonds and van der Waals interaction were the main force to stabilize the complex. The microenvironment of the protein-binding site was studied by synchronous fluorescence and circular dichroism(CD) techniques and data indicated that the conformation of BSA changed in the presence of PHs. Finally, we studied the BSA-PHs docking using Auto Dock and results suggest that PHs is located in the cleft between the domains of BSA.

Aggregate dust model to study the polarization properties of comet C/1996 B2 Hyakutake

The observed linear polarization data of comet Hyakutake are studied at wavelengths λ=0.365 μm,λ=0.485 μm and 0.684μm through simulations using Ballistic Particle-Cluster Aggregate and Ballistic Cluster-Cluster Aggregate aggregates of 128 spherical *** first found that the size parameter of the monomer,x ～ 1.56-1.70,turned out to be the most suitable which provides the best fits to the observed dust scattering properties at three wavelengths：λ=0.365 μm,0.485μm and 0.684μ***,the effective radius of the aggregate （r） lies in the range 0.45 μm ≤ r ≤ 0.49 μm at λ=0.365 μm;0.60 μm ≤ r ≤ 0.66 μm at λ=0.485 μm and 0.88 μm ≤ r ≤ 0.94 μm at λ=0.684 μ*** using superposition T-MATRIX code and the power-law size distribution,n（r）～ r-3,the best-fitting values of complex refractive indices are calculated for the observed polarization data at the above three *** best-fitting complex refractive indices （n,k） are found to be （1.745,0.095） at λ=0.365 μm,（1.743,0.100） at λ=0.485 μm and （1.695,0.100） at λ=0.684 μ*** refractive indices derived from the present analysis correspond to a mixture of both silicates and organics,which are in good agreement with the in situ measurement of comets by different spacecraft.
