Nigeria,often referred to as“the giant of Africa,”boasts a sizable population,a thriving economy,and abundant energy ***,Nigeria has yet to fully harness its renewable energy potential,despite its enormous capacity in this *** goal of this review paper is to thoroughly examine the difficulties and untapped opportunities in utilizing biomass for bioenergy production in ***,Nigeria generates substantial volumes of biomass annually,primarily in the form of agricultural waste,which is often either discarded or burned inefficiently,resulting in significant ecological and environmental ***,an efficient approach to reducing pollution and transforming waste into wealth involves converting these biomass resources into *** work critically examines the status of biomass utilization for energy applications in Nigeria and highlights the bottlenecks that impede its widespread *** review emphasizes the economic and ecological advantages of biomass utilization over traditional waste treatment ***,it underscores the appeal of biomass as an industrial fuel source,particularly considering the current high cost of fossil fuels in contemporary *** literature on biomass,energy,agricultural waste,fossil fuel,and calorific value in the context of Nigeria was reviewed by utilizing a thorough search technique in key scientific *** analysis did not include any non-English *** findings of this research provide valuable insights into the challenges faced in maximizing Nigeria’s biomass potential and offer strategic recommendations to promote the use of biomass for bioenergy *** review paper will assist a wide range of local and international readers,as well as industries interested in green and bioenergy,in making informed decisions regarding the most suitable types of biomass for biofuel production.

Haematopoetic effect of methanol extract of Nigerian honey bee (Apis mellifera) propolis in mice

Objective:To investigate the haematopoetic effect of methanol extract of Nigerian honey bee propolis in ***:Fifteen white Albino mice were grouped into 3(A-C)of 5 animals *** A mice serve as control group,while groups B and C received 300 and 600 mL/kg of honey bee propolis respectively,for 21 *** haematological parameters were determined using the automated haematologic analyzer Sysmex kx21,(product of Sysmex Corporation,Japan)using standard *** data were analyzed using ANOVA and the level of significance was at Pmine it's safety on acute ***;Results showed significant(Pmean platelate volume,plateletecrit,platelete distribution weight,white blood cells,granulocyte count,lymphocytes and mid cell total *** extract however produce no significantly(P>0.05)alteration to the erythrocytic indices like red blood cells,haematocrite,haemoglobin,mean corpuscular haemoglobin,mean corpuscular volume and red cell distribution width,but increase mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration in dose related *** oral toxicity showed the extract to be relatively safe at a high dose on acute ***,21-days of treatment with the extract do neither increase nor decrease the body weight of the ***:Administration of methanol extract of Nigerian honey bee propolis in mice at the doses investigated has brought about leucopoietic and thrombopoietic changes without any significant effect on red blood cells and factors that relate to it,except for the mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration.
