Significance of stromal-1 and stromal-2 signatures and biologic prognostic model in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma

Objective:Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma(DLBCL)is a heterogeneous group of tumors with different biological and clinical characteristics that have diverse clinical outcomes and response to ***-1 signature of tumor microenvironment of DLBCL represents extracellular matrix deposition and histiocytic infiltrate,whereas stromal-2 represents angiogenesis that could affect tumor ***:The aim of the present study is to assess the significance of stromal-1 signature using SPARC-1 and stromal-2 signature using CD31 expression and then finally to construct biologic prognostic model(BPM)in 60 cases of DLBCL via ***:Microvessel density(P<0.05)and SPARC percentage of expression(P<0.001)were higher in DLBCL,including germinal and nongerminal cases,compared with reactive follicular *** microvessel density was significantly associated with splenic involvement(P=0.008),high mitotic count(P=0.045),and presence of capsular invasion(P=0.035).Percentage of SPARC expression was significantly associated with splenic involvement(P=0.03).Constructing BPM showed that 42 cases(70%)were of low biologic score(0–1)and 18 cases(30%)were of high biologic score(2–3).Low BPM cases showed less probability for splenic involvement(P=0.04)and a higher rate of complete response to therapy compared with high score cases(P=0.08).Conclusions:The DLBCL microenvironment could modulate tumor progression behavior since angiogenesis and SPARC positive stromal cells promote dissemination by association with spleen involvement and capsular *** prognostic models,including modified BPM,which considered cell origin of DLBCL and stromal signature pathways,could determine DLBCL progression and response to therapy.

Convenient One Pot Synthesis and Antibacterial Evaluation of Some New Mannich Bases Carrying 1,2,4-Triazolyl Moiety

A series of Mannich bases were synthesized by a three-component Mannich reaction. The newly synthesized compounds were well characterized by elemental analyses, IR, NMR and mass spectroscopic studies. The potential antibacterial effects of the synthesized compounds were investigated using standard bacterial strains： Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Interestingly, all the synthesized compounds were observed to be promising leads, possessing moderate to significant inhibitory activity as compared to standard.

Mathematical modeling of female breast cancer in Japan

Cancer incidence rates are significantly diferent all over the *** cancer is affected by many factors,the most important being genetics and *** aim of this paper is to study the mutation mechanisms of breast cancer for Japanese women by fitting the incidence data of three high-quality population areas in Japan from 1985 to *** achieve this goal,we have set up multi-stage models within the mathematical model of Moolgavkar,Venzon,and *** models take both mutation rates and clonal expansion rates as parameters in each compartment into *** on our simulation outcomes,two to twelve driver mutations are sufficient in the pathway to female breast cancer in *** the other hand,a previous study demonstrated that breast cancer in American women requires two to fourteen gene mutations to get a cancerous ***,the 3-stage mat hematical model is the optimal model as it fits clinical data very nicely for all affected cases of females in Japan and the *** genetic instability has a promincnt effect on the tumorigenesis of Japanese females caused by the first four driver *** calculated results for Japanese women are compared with previous works for American women.

CFD investigation of the agitation in the desupersaturation during the wet-process phosphoric acid(WPPA)process

Desupersaturation is a complex cooling operation that involves hydrodynamic,thermal and mechanical *** process requires continuous agitation to avoid fouling problems and sludge *** current work aims to investigate the well mixedness in the desupersaturation tank for optimal *** this purpose,a multi-fluid CFD study was conducted based on the Euler–Euler modeling approach,considering a multiphase flow involving a liquid phase(phosphoric acid)and a poly-dispersed solid phase,i.e.a sludge with three different sizes where each size is considered as a separate ***,the hydrodynamic behavior of the flow within the agitated desupersaturator is analyzed through the investigation of the velocity fields as well as the power and pumping numbers,to determine both the agitator capacity to pump the flow and its power consumption during the ***,in order to assess the mixture homogeneity,we evaluated the solid suspension in the desupersaturation reactor following conventional methods and two new proposed methodologies:the first approach is to evaluate the suspension quality in the mixing system by compartment and the second consists on the assessment of the uniform convergence of the solid ***,we calculated the time required to achieve a full suspension at different solid *** other hand,we conducted a detailed analysis of the solid distribution dependency on the impeller rotational speed at different solid volume fraction,which allows a good understanding of the parameters controlling the homogenization in the desupersaturator.

Association of vascular endothelial growth factor-634G/C and receptor for advanced glycation end products G82S gene polymorphisms with diabetic retinopathy

AIMTo investigate the association of receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) G82S and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) -634 G/C gene polymorphisms with diabetic retinopathy (DR).METHODSOur cross-sectional study included 61 diabetic patients, 12 of them had proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR), 15 had non proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR), 34 had no diabetic retinopathy (NDR) and 61 healthy controls. Participants were tested for RAGE G82S and VEGF -634 G/C polymorphisms by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length *** found a significant association between VEGF -634 G/C polymorphism and PDR as PDR patients had increased incidence of VEGF -634 CC genotype compared to NDR patients [odds ratio for CC vs (GC+GG)=6.5, 95% CI=1.5-27.8, P=0.021]. Also VEGF -634 CC genotype and C allele were significantly higher in the PDR than in NPDR patients, which is a novel finding in our study (P=0.024, 0.009 respectively). The mean triglycerides level was significantly higher in diabetic patients with CC genotype (P=0.01) as compared to patients with other genotypes. All cases and control subjects were of the same heterozygous RAGE 82G/S *** carrying VEGF -634 C polymorphism have a higher risk of PDR development, so VEGF -634 G/C polymorphism could be used as a predictive marker for PDR in diabetic patients. We could not find a significant association between RAGE G82S polymorphism and DR.

Relation between sleep quality and glycemic control among type 2 diabetic patients

Objective:To investigate the relation between sleep quality and glycemic control among type 2 diabetic ***:Across sectional descriptive design was used;the study sample including 125 diabetic patients was recruited at diabetic clinics in Zagazig University *** interview questionnaire sheet consists of 4 par ts:(1)demographic data,(2)medical history,(3)an Arabic version of the Pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),and(4)glycated hemoglobin A1c(Hb A1c)analysis ***:The mean of sleep duration was the highest score of PSQI components,96.8%of diabetic patients had poor sleep quality,and 90.4%of diabetic patients had poor glycemic control.A highly statistically significant relationship was found between Hb A1c and sleep ***,income,duration of disease and smoking were independent positive predictors of Hb A1c level,while the female gender was a statistically significant negative ***,female gender and income were statistically significant independent positive predictors of PSQI ***:Poor sleep quality and poor glycemic control were very common among type 2 diabetic *** was a highly significant relation between sleep quality and glycemic control.

Heat Transfer Characteristics for Solar Energy Aspect on the Flow of Tangent Hyperbolic Hybrid Nanofluid over a Sensor Wedge and Stagnation Point Surface

The conversion of solar radiation to thermal energy has recently attracted a lot of interest as the requirement for renewable heat and power *** to their enhanced ability to promote heat transmission,nanofluids can significantly contribute to enhancing the efficiency of solar-thermal *** article focus solar energy aspect on the effects of the thermal radiation in the flow of a hyperbolic tangent nanofluid containing magnesium oxide(MgO)and silver(Ag)are the nanoparticle with the base fluid as kerosene through a wedge and *** system of hybrid nanofluid transport equations are transformed into ordinary differential systems using the appropriate self-similarity *** systems are then determined by using the Runge-Kutta 4th order with shooting technique in the MATLAB *** and tables illustrate the effects of significant factors on the fluid transport *** velocity is growths but it is declarations in temperature by increasing values in the power law index *** numbers with higher values improve the temperature and velocity in the wedge and stagnation,*** thermal radiation and Eckert number both parameters intensification the rate of heat transfer for wedge and stagnation,*** heat transfer rate in fluid flow over a stagnation point is found to be 14.0346%higher compared to flow over a ***,incorporating hybrid nanoparticles into the base fluid enhances the heat transfer rate by 8.92%for the wedge case and 13.26%for the stagnation point case.
