Distance relays are prone to symmetrical power swing *** mitigate this issue,a dynamic threshold-supported algorithm is proposed.A single logic is not supposed to be secure for all ***,a supervisory algorithm,as proposed in this study,can aid in the improvement of the immunity of the relay during swing cases and be sensitive to symmetrical *** the developed stages,a three-phase power signal was used and processed in two different steps:(i)extraction of the effective intrinsic mode function(IMF)selected from the Kurtosis analysis using the wavelet synchro-squeezing transform,and(ii)estimation of the average Euclidean distance index using the absolute values of the decomposed IMF’*** adaptive threshold facilitated resistance to swing *** the onset of a symmetrical fault,the proposed algorithm efficiently discriminated among events using a dynamic *** IEEE 39-bus test system and Indian Eastern Power Grid networks were modelled using PSCAD software,and cases were generated to test the efficacy of the *** impact of the proposed method on a large-scale wind farm was also evaluated.A comparative analysis with other existing methods revealed the security and dependability of the proposed method.

The slurry settling characteristics are the most important to design a thickener in process industries. In this work, the iron ore slurry from the screw classifier overflow was used for the settling study. It was observed that the original slurry exhibited a low settling velocity and a turbid supernatant during the settling process. Commercial flocculating agents with anionic, cationic, and nonionic characters were used to improve the settling behavior of suspensions, which were added into the slurry at different ranges of slurry pH values, respectively. The settling results show that the use of flocculants increase the settling rate by several times. Compared with the cationic and non-ionic flocculants, the anionic flocculant is more effective in enhancing the slurry settling rate. The small dose of the anionic flocculant is found to be more effective, but the other flocculants are less effective even at higher dosages. The simulation of an industrial thickener was carried out based on the laboratory settling data, and the appropriate design and selection parameters of the industrial thickener were estimated.

Efforts were made to estimate and analyze the effect of dehydration on the bending response of segmented ionic polymer-metal composite(IPMC)*** experiment was conducted with an IPMC actuator to study the variation of bending characteristics with input *** on the experimental data,the Cobb-Douglas production method was used to obtain the dehydration factor in terms of input voltage and *** motion of the patches was restricted to planar in two dimensions.A single-patch IPMC actuator was then modeled following the Euler-Bernoulli approach incorporating loss due to dehydration.A forward kinematics model for the segmented actuators was formulated after constituting the homogeneous coordinate transformation matrix,assuming it is a serial link multi-degree of freedom *** energy-based dynamic model of the patches was derived using the Lagrange *** were performed for single and two segmented IPMC patches to demonstrate the bending response for various input *** results demonstrate the gradual reduction of bending response of an actuator owing to moisture loss.

Because of the current depletion of high grade reserves, beneficiation of low grade ore, tailings produced and tailings stored in tailing ponds is needed to fulfill the market demand. Selective flocculation is one alternative process that could be used for the beneficiation of ultra-fine material. This process has not been extensively used commercially because of its complex dependency on process parameters. In this paper, a selective flocculation process, using synthetic mixtures of hematite and kaolinite in different ratios, was attempted, and the ad-sorption mechanism was investigated by Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） spectroscopy. A three-layer artificial neural network （ANN） model （4？4？3） was used to predict the separation performance of the process in terms of grade, Fe recovery, and separation efficiency. The model values were in good agreement with experimental values.

Circulatory and hepatic failure at admission predicts mortality of severe scrub typhus patients: A prospective cohort study

Objective:To study the spectrum and outcome of severe scrub typhus in adult patients and to predict the hospital mortality by organ failure on ***:This was a prospective observational cohort study conducted between July 2017 and October 2020 at the medical emergency centre of PGIMER,Chandigarh,*** hundred and twenty-six patients aged≥13 years were diagnosed with scrub *** disease was defined as the presence of organ failure based on the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(SOFA)score on ***:About two-thirds of the patients were from geographic regions outside the endemic sub-Himalayan ***(99.21%)and dyspnea(79.36%)were the most frequent *** failure(81.75%)was the most common organ failure,followed by hepatic(52.38%),coagulative(47.62%),circulatory(33.33%),renal(21.43%),and cerebral dysfunction(13.49%).The median(Q1,Q3)SOFA score was 8(6,9),and 48.41%of the patients had a quick-SOFA score≥*** supports with invasive ventilation(40.48%),vasopressors(36.51%),and renal replacement therapy(7.14%)were frequently *** in-hospital mortality was 11.90% and was independently predicted by circulatory and hepatic failures on multivariate logistic regression(OR 11.12,95%CI 1.73-71.31 and OR 8.49,95%CI 1.18-61.41,respectively).Conclusions:Most patients had pulmonary dysfunction;circulatory or hepatic failure on admission strongly predicts death.

Performance evaluation for selectivity of the flocculant on hematite in selective flocculation

Increased demand for iron ore necessitates the utilization of low-grade iron ore fines, slimes, and existing tailings. Selective flocculation can be an alternative physico-chemical process for utilizing these low-grade fines, slimes, and tailings. In selective fiocculation, the most critical objective is the selection of proper reagents that will make fioc of desired minerals. In present study, selective flocculation was applied to ultra-fine synthetic mixtures of hematite and kaolinite, and the Fe value was upgraded up to 65.78% with the reduction of Al2O3 and SiO2 values to 2.65% and 3.6670, respectively. Here, degraded wheat starch was used as a *** this process, separation occurs on the basis of the selectivity of the flocculant. The selectivity of the fiocculant can be quantified in terms of separation efficiency. Here, an attempt was also made to develop a correlation between separation efficiency and major operating parameters such as flocculent dose, pH value, and solid concentration to predict the separation performance.

Does age, time since injury and meniscal injury affect short term functional outcomes in arthroscopic single bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction？

Purpose： We conducted this study to correlate the short term clinical outcomes after anterior cruciate ligament （ACL） reconstruction with patients＇ age, time since injury and associated meniscal injury. Methods： A total of 43 patients who underwent ACL reconstruction between October 2013 and February 2015 were taken for the study. Preoperative demographic data, clinical scores （Lysholm, IKDC） were recorded for each patient. Time since injury and associated meniscal injuries were recorded. Then a standardized surgical technique was used for each graft type. They were followed up for 6 months and the Lysholm and IKDC scores were evaluated. Results： Only 33 patients completed 6 months follow-up at the end of this study. Twenty-four patients （72.7%） were in the age group of 18-30 years. Nine patients belonged to age group 30-50 years （27.3%）. The p value for differences in Lysholm scores between the two age groups was not significant （0.339）. The p value for differences in IKDC scores between the two age groups was not significant either （0.138）. The mean Lysholm scores were 93.86 ± 3.024 for the group who presented 〈6 months post-injury, 92 ± 5.494 for the group who presented between 6 months and 1 year and 94.64±3.104 for the group who pre- sented after 1 year; whereas the mean IKDC scores were 92.43 ± 0.793, 90.64 ± 6.598 and 90.89 ± 2.113 respectively. The correlation of outcomes with meniscal injury had no statistical significance. Conclusion： Based on our study, we conclude that age, time since injury and associated meniscal injury does not affect short term functional outcome in ACL reconstruction.

Bioavailability and Immunity Response in Broiler Breeders on Organically Complexed Zinc Supplementation

Two hundred and sixty four broiler breeder hens of 32 weeks of age were distributed randomly in four dietary treatments. The dietary treatments were T0: Broiler breeder ration containing 40 ppm zinc (basal 29.8 ppm + 10.2 ppm inorganic zinc), T1: T0 + organic zinc (zinc methionine) @ 20 ppm, T2: T0 + organic zinc @ 40 ppm and T3: T0 + organic zinc @ 60 ppm. The experiment was continued from 32 to 48 weeks of age. At 48 weeks, the weight of lymphoid organs, zinc levels in organs and immunity response were determined. The faecal zinc level was determined at monthly interval. The weight lymphoid organs of different treatment groups (both organic and inorganic zinc fed groups) of the broiler breeders did not differ significantly (P > 0.05). The cellular immune response of breeder birds to PHA-P was significantly (P 0.05) higher in group T3 than the rest of treated groups. The antibody titre to SRBC differed among the treated groups. The zinc content of serum of broiler breeders of all the groups did not differ significantly (P > 0.05) in all the periods of study. Zinc content in liver and tibia of broiler breeders in different dietary treatments of zinc differed significantly (P 0.05) with higher levels were obtained on increasing zinc concentration in the diet. The zinc level in the spleen and kidney of the broiler breeders in different dietary treatments did not differ significantly (P > 0.05). The average zinc content in the faeces of broiler breeder during 35 to 43 week of age did not differ significantly (P > 0.05) among the treated groups. At 48 weeks of age, zinc content of the faeces of T3 was found to be significantly (P 0.05) higher than the rest of treated groups. Similarly, during the overall experimental period analysis, it was found that zinc levels in the faeces of T2 and T3 were significantly (P 0.05) higher than T1 and T0.

Correlation of Hormonal Receptors Estrogen Receptor, Progesterone Receptor and Her-2/Neu with Tumor Characteristics in Breast Carcinoma: Study of 100 Consecutive Cases

Introduction-Breast cancer is the most common cancer and leading cause of death in women. In India, its incidence is rapidly rising over last few decades. Present study is aimed to study the pattern of expression of hormonal receptors and Her-2/neu in invasive breast carcinoma and to correlate estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR) and Her-2/neu expressions with various clinicopathological parameters. Material and methods: The present study was carried out in Department of Pathology, S.C.B. Medical College, Cuttack in the year 2013 taking consecutive 100 cases. Routine H&E staining for histological diagnosis and IHC analysis for ER, PR and Her 2/neu was carried out in all 100 cases of breast malignancies. Results: 99% of cases are invasive breast carcinoma, not otherwise specify (IDC-NOS). The age ranges from 23 years to 72 years. Majority of tumors are of grade 2 (70%) followed by grade 3 (30%). ER PR and Her-2/neu expression are seen in 45%, 35% and 30% respectively. Triple negative cases comprise 35%. Higher number of grade 2 tumor shows ER, PR positivity as compared to grade 3 tumors. Her-2/neu expression does not show any significant correlation with age or lymph node status of the patient. Conclusion: ER and PR expression in breast cancers in the current study are found to be comparable to the findings of other authors, but the frequency of HER-2/neu expression is slightly higher. Significant correlation is observed between hormonal receptor status and the grade of the tumor. Inverse relationship is found between Her-2/neu expression and ER, PR receptor status. Her-2/neu expression is increased with size and high grade of tumor.
