Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a disease that caused a global pandemic and is caused by infection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 *** has affected over 768 million people worldwide,resulting in approx-imately 6900000 ***-risk.groups,identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,include individuals with conditions lik. type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),obesity,chronic lung disease,serious heart conditions,and chronic k.dney *** indicates that those with T2DM face a hei-ghtened susceptibility to COVID-19 and increased mortality compared to non-diabetic *** the renin-angiotensin system(RAS),a vital regulator of blood pressure and pulmonary stability,reveals the significance of the angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE)and ACE2 *** converts angiotensin-I to the vasoconstrictor angiotensin-II,while ACE2 counters this by converting angiotensin-II to angiotensin 1-7,a *** ACE2 exp-ression,common in diabetes,intensifies RAS activity,contributing to conditions lik. inflammation and *** ACE inhibitors and angiotensin receptor block.rs can be therapeutically beneficial by increasing ACE2 levels,concerns arise regarding the potential elevation of ACE2 receptors on cell membranes,potentially facilitating COVID-19 *** review explored the role of the RAS/ACE2 mechanism in amplifying severe acute respiratory syndrome cor-onavirus 2 infection and associated complications in *** treatment strategies,including recombinant human ACE2 therapy,broad-spectrum antiviral drugs,and epigenetic signature detection,are discussed as promising avenues in the battle against this pandemic.

Safety of tranexamic acid in surgically treated isolated spine trauma

BACk.ROUND Tranexamic acid(TXA),a synthetic antifibrinolytic drug,effectively reduces blood loss by inhibiting plasmin-induced fibrin *** is the first study in the United k.ngdom to investigate the effectiveness of TXA in the surgical management of isolated spine *** To assess the safety of TXA in isolated spine *** primary and secondary outcomes are to assess the rate of thromboembolic events and to evaluate blood loss and the incidence of blood transfusion,*** This prospective observational study included patients aged≥17 years with isolated spine trauma requiring surgical intervention over a 6-month period at two major trauma centers in the United *** We identified 67 patients:26(39%)and 41(61%)received and did not receive TXA,*** groups were matched in terms of age,gender,American Society of Anesthesiologists grade,and mechanism of injury.A higher proportion of patients who received TXA had a subaxial cervical spine injury classification or thoracolumbar injury classification score>4(74%vs 56%).All patients in the TXA group underwent an open approach with a mean of 5 spinal levels involved and an average operative time of 203 min,compared with 24 patients(58%)in the non TXA group who underwent an open approach with an average of 3 spinal levels involved and a mean operative time of 159 *** patients who received TXA,blood loss was<150 and 150–300 mL in 8(31%)and 15(58%)patients,*** were no cases of thromboembolic events in any patient who received *** Our study demonstrated that TXA is safe for isolated spine *** is challenging to determine whether TXA effectively reduces blood loss because most surgeons prefer TXA for open or multilevel ***,larger studies are necessary to explore the rate,dosage,and mode of administration of TXA.

Construction and Validity of Chinese Translation of the Universal Mental Health Literacy Scale for Adolescents

Back.round: In this study, the Universal Mental Health Literacy Scale for Adolescents (UMHL-A) was revised and tested for its reliability and validity in Chinese middle school students, thus establishing a useful tool for assessing the mental health of individuals in this occupation. Methods: Our sample comprised 1208 junior high school students (58.85% male), aged between 11 and 15 years old. The Chinese version of the scale includes a mental health attitude subscale and mental health k.owledge subscale, including attitudes towards seek.ng help, attitudes related to stigma, general mental health k.owledge, and k.owledge about specific mental illnesses, encapsulated in a total of 17 items. A series of psychometric analyses such as exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and internal consistency reliability estimation were carried out in this study. Results: The results of the CFA indicated that the two-factor model had an acceptable model fit (Attitude (UMHL-A Lik.rt): χ2/df = 4.107; RMSEA = 0.072; SRMR = 0.045; TLI = 0.932; CFI = 0.954; k.owledge (UMHL-A T/F): χ2/df = 3.647; RMSEA = 0.066; SRMR = 0.044; TLI = 0.923; CFI = 0.945). The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of subscales of the Chinese version UMHL-A were 0.80 and 0.78, respectively. Conclusion: In general, the Chinese version of the Universal Mental Health Literacy Scale for adolescents has good reliability and validity and can be used as a tool to measure the mental health literacy of Chinese adolescents. © 2024 The Authors.

Performance of Continuous Wavelet Transform over Fourier Transform in Features Resolutions

This study presents a comparative analysis of two image enhancement techniques, Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), in the context of improving the clarity of high-quality 3D seismic data obtained from the Tano Basin in West Africa, Ghana. The research focuses on a comparative analysis of image clarity in seismic attribute analysis to facilitate the identification of reservoir features within the subsurface structures. The findings of the study indicate that CWT has a significant advantage over FFT in terms of image quality and identifying subsurface structures. The results demonstrate the superior performance of CWT in providing a better representation, mak.ng it more effective for seismic attribute analysis. The study highlights the importance of choosing the appropriate image enhancement technique based on the specific application needs and the broader context of the study. While CWT provides high-quality images and superior performance in identifying subsurface structures, the selection between these methods should be made judiciously, tak.ng into account the objectives of the study and the characteristics of the signals being analyzed. The research provides valuable insights into the decision-mak.ng process for selecting image enhancement techniques in seismic data analysis, helping researchers and practitioners mak. informed choices that cater to the unique requirements of their studies. Ultimately, this study contributes to the advancement of the field of subsurface imaging and geological feature identification.

Infrared Fault Detection Method for Dense Electrolytic Bath Polar Plate Based on YOLOv5s

Electrolysis tank. are used to smelt metals based on electrochemical principles, and the short-circuiting of the pole plates in the tank. in the production process will lead to high temperatures, thus affecting normal production. Aiming at the problems of time-consuming and poor accuracy of existing infrared methods for high-temperature detection of dense pole plates in electrolysis tank., an infrared dense pole plate anomalous target detection network.YOLOv5-RMF based on You Only Look.Once version 5 (YOLOv5) is proposed. Firstly, we modified the Real-Time Enhanced Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Network.(Real-ESRGAN) by changing the U-shaped network.(U-Net) to Attention U-Net, to preprocess the images; secondly, we propose a new Focus module that introduces the Marr operator, which can provide more boundary information for the network. again, because Complete Intersection over Union (CIOU) cannot accommodate target borders that are increasing and decreasing, replace CIOU with Extended Intersection over Union (EIOU), while the loss function is changed to Focal and Efficient IOU (Focal-EIOU) due to the different difficulty of sample detection. On the homemade dataset, the precision of our method is 94%, the recall is 70.8%, and the map@.5 is 83.6%, which is an improvement of 1.3% in precision, 9.7% in recall, and 7% in map@.5 over the original network. The algorithm can meet the needs of electrolysis tank.pole plate abnormal temperature detection, which can lay a technical foundation for improving production efficiency and reducing production waste.
