The aim of this paper is to analyze unbalanced radial distribution systems(UBRDS)with the distribution static compensator(D-STATCOM).The main objectives of this paper are D-STATCOM allocation in UBRDS with an objective of providing reactive power support to enhance voltage profile and reduce line losses of the distribution network,determination of optimal D-STATCOM rating subjected to minimization of total cost,and impact of D-STATCOM placement on improving power factor and savings in cost of energy loss.The analysis is conducted on a large industrial load model with light,medium and high loading scenarios.Further,the impact of load growth is also considered for better planning of the power distribution system.The results are obtained on standard 25-bus UBRDS to check the feasibility of the proposed methodology.

OBJECTIVE： Different parts of Murraya paniculata have been used traditionally for treating several ailments including mental disorders. The present study was designed to evaluate the antianxiety and antidepressant potential of M. paniculata leaves using elevated plus maze model and forced swim test, respectively. METHODS： Extracts of M. panicu/ata made with petroleum ether （60-80 ℃）, chloroform, ethanol and water were evaluated for antianxiety and antidepressant activity. The anxiolytic chloroform extract was subjected to column chromatography, yielding five fractions （F1-F5）. Fraction F5 （100 mg/kg）, which showed notable anxiolytic activity, was further chromatographed to get four subfractions （F5.1-F5.4）. Simultaneously, the ethano extract was partitioned with ethyl acetate to obtain ethyl acetate soluble fraction （EASF） and ethyl acetate insoluble fraction. Phytochemical screening of bioactive extracts/fractions and detection of mahanimbine in M paniculata leaf extract by thin-layer chromatography was also carried out. RESULTS： Fraction F5.3 （25 mg/kg） and EASF （20 mg/kg） showed significant anxiolytic and antidepressant activity, respectively. Thin-layer chromatography and phytochemical screening demonstrated the absence of mahanimbine in M. paniculata leaves. Coumarins were observed to be responsible for the anxiolytic activity. CONCLUSION： The results validate the traditional use of M. paniculata leaves in the treatment of menta disorders.

Microgrids with hybrid renewable energy sources are increasing and it is a promising solution to electrify remote areas where distribution network expansion is not feasible or not economical.Standalone microgrids with environment-friendly hybrid energy sources is a cost-effective solution that ensures system reliability and energy security.This paper determines the optimal capacity,energy dispatching and techno-economic benefits of standalone microgrid in remote area in Tamilnadu,India.Microgrids with hybrid energy sources comprising photovoltaic(PV),wind turbine(WT),battery energy storage system(BESS)and diesel generator(DG)are considered in this paper.Various case studies are implemented with hybrid energy sources and for each case study a comparative analysis of techno-economic benefits is demonstrated.Eight different configurations of hybrid energy sources are modeled with renewable fractions of 50%,60%,65%,and 100%,respectively.The optimization analysis is carried out using Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable(HOMER)software.Impact of demand response is also demonstrated on energy dispatching and technoeconomic benefits.Simulation results are obtained for the optimal capacity of PV,WT,DG,converter,and BESS,charging/discharging pattern,state of charge(SOC),net present cost(NPC),cost of energy(COE),initial cost,operation cost,fuel cost,greenhouse gas emission penalty and payback period considering seasonal load variation.It is observed that PV+BESS is the most economical configuration.COE in standalone microgrid is higher than the conventional grid price.The results show that CO2 emissions in hybrid PV+WT+DG+BESS are reduced by about 68%compared with the traditional isolated distribution system with DG.

Microgrid with hybrid renewable energy sources is a promising solution where the distribution network expansion is unfeasible or not economical.Integration of renewable energy sources provides energy security,substantial cost savings and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions,enabling nation to meet emission targets.Microgrid energy management is a challenging task for microgrid operator(MGO)for optimal energy utilization in microgrid with penetration of renewable energy sources,energy storage devices and demand response.In this paper,optimal energy dispatch strategy is established for grid connected and standalone microgrids integrated with photovoltaic(PV),wind turbine(WT),fuel cell(FC),micro turbine(MT),diesel generator(DG)and battery energy storage system(ESS).Techno-economic benefits are demonstrated for the hybrid power system.So far,microgrid energy management problem has been addressed with the aim of minimizing operating cost only.However,the issues of power losses and environment i.e.,emission-related objectives need to be addressed for effective energy management of microgrid system.In this paper,microgrid energy management(MGEM)is formulated as mixedinteger linear programming and a new multi-objective solution is proposed for MGEM along with demand response program.Demand response is included in the optimization problem to demonstrate it’s impact on optimal energy dispatch and techno-commercial benefits.Fuzzy interface has been developed for optimal scheduling of ESS.Simulation results are obtained for the optimal capacity of PV,WT,DG,MT,FC,converter,BES,charging/discharging scheduling,state of charge of battery,power exchange with grid,annual net present cost,cost of energy,initial cost,operational cost,fuel cost and penalty of greenhouse gases emissions.The results show that CO_(2) emissions in standalone hybrid microgrid system is reduced by 51.60%compared to traditional system with grid only.Simulation results obtained with the proposed method is compared with various evolutionary algorithms to ver

Blur is produced in a digital image due to low passfiltering,moving objects or defocus of the camera lens during capture.Image viewers are annoyed by blur artefact and the image's perceived quality suffers as a result.The high-quality input is relevant to communication service providers and imaging product makers because it may help them improve their processes.Human-based blur assessment is time-consuming,expensive and must adhere to subjective evaluation standards.This paper presents a revolutionary no-reference blur assessment algorithm based on reblurring blurred images using a special mask developed with a Markov basis and Laplacefilter.Thefinal blur score of blurred images has been calculated from the local variation in horizontal and vertical pixel intensity of blurred and re-blurred images.The objective scores are generated by applying proposed algorithm on the two image databases i.e.,Laboratory for image and video engineering(LIVE)database and Tampere image database(TID 2013).Finally,on the basis of objective and subjective scores performance analysis is done in terms of Pearson linear correlation coefficient(PLCC),Spearman rank-order correlation coefficient(SROCC),Mean absolute error(MAE),Root mean square error(RMSE)and Outliers ratio(OR).The existing no-reference blur assessment algorithms have been used various methods for the evaluation of blur from no-reference image such as Just noticeable blur(JNB),Cumulative Probability Distribution of Blur Detection(CPBD)and Edge Model based Blur Metric(EMBM).The results illustrate that the proposed method was successful in predicting high blur scores with high accuracy as compared to existing no-reference blur assessment algorithms such as JNB,CPBD and EMBM algorithms.

Greenhouse technology is a practical option for the production and drying of agricultural products in controlled environment. For the successful design of a greenhouse, the selection of a suitable shape and orientation is of great importance. Of various shapes of greenhouses, the even-span roof and the Quonset shape greenhouses are the most commonly used for crop cultivation and drying. The orientation of greenhouses is kept east-west for maximum utilization of solar radiations. Hybrid and modified greenhouse dryers have been proposed for drying of products. The agricultural products dried in greenhouses are found to be better in quality as compared to open sun drying because they are protected from dust, rain, insects, birds and animals. Moreover, various greenhouses shapes along with their applications have been reviewed.

This paper presents the analysis of load frequency control （LFC） of a deregulated two-area hydro-thermal power system using fuzzy logic controller, with doubly fed induction generators （DFIGs） integrated into both the control areas. The deregulation of power sector has led to the formation of new companies for generation, transmission and distribution of power. The conventional two-area power system is modified to study the effects of the bilateral contracts of companies on the system dynamics. Deregulation creates highly competitive and distributed control environment, and the LFC becomes even more challenging when wind generators are also integrated into the system. The overall inertia of the system reduces, as the wind unit does not provide inertia and isolates from the grid during disturbances. The DFIGs integrated provide inertial support to the system through modified inertial control scheme, and arrests the initial fall in frequency after disturbance. The inertial control responds to frequency deviations, which takes out the kinetic energy of the wind turbine for improving the frequency response of the system. To enhance the participation of the doubly fed induction generator （DFIG） in the frequency control, optimal values of the speed control parameters of the DFIG-based wind turbine have been obtained using integral square error （ISE） technique. The dynamics of the system have been obtained for a small load perturbation, and for contract violation using fuzzy controller.

Frequency regulation in a generation mix having large wind power penetration is a critical issue, as wind units isolate from the grid during disturbances with advanced power electronics controllers and reduce equivalent system inertia. Thus, it is important that wind turbines also contribute to system frequency control. This paper examines the dynamic contribution of doubly fed induction generator （DFIG）-based wind turbine in system frequency regulation. The modified inertial support scheme is proposed which helps the DFIG to provide the short term transient active power support to the grid during transients and arrests the fall in frequency. The frequency deviation is considered by the controller to provide the inertial control. An additional reference power output is used which helps the DFIG to release kinetic energy stored in rotating masses of the turbine. The optimal speed control parameters have been used for the DFIG to increases its participation in frequency control. The simulations carried out in a two-area interconnected power system demonstrate the contribution of the DFIG in load frequency control.
