BACKGROUND There is scant literature on hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome(BCS).AIM To assess the magnitude,clinical characteristics,feasibility,and outcomes of treatment in *** A total of 904 BCS patients from New Delhi,India and 1140 from Mumbai,India were *** prevalence and incidence of HCC were determined,and among patients with BCS-HCC,the viability and outcomes of interventional therapy were *** In the New Delhi cohort of 35 BCS-HCC patients,18 had HCC at index presentation(prevalence 1.99%),and 17 developed HCC over a follow-up of 4601 person-years,[incidence 0.36(0.22-0.57)per 100 person-years].BCS-HCC patients were older when compared to patients with BCS alone(P=0.001)and had a higher proportion of inferior vena cava block,cirrhosis,and long-segment vascular *** median alpha-fetoprotein level was higher in patients with BCS-HCC at first presentation than those who developed HCC at follow-up(13029 ng/mL vs 500 ng/mL,P=0.01).Of the 35 BCS-HCC,26(74.3%)underwent radiological interventions for BCS,and 22(62.8%)patients underwent treatment for HCC[transarterial chemoembolization in 18(81.8%),oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor in 3(13.6%),and transarterial radioembolization in 1(4.5%)].The median survival among patients who underwent interventions for HCC compared with those who did not was 3.5 years vs 3.1 mo(P=0.0001).In contrast to the New Delhi cohort,the Mumbai cohort of BCS-HCC patients were predominantly males,presented with a more advanced HCC[Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer C and D],and 2 patients underwent liver *** HCC is not uncommon in patients with *** interventions and liver transplantation are feasible in select primary BCS-HCC patients and may improve outcomes.

Blur is produced in a digital image due to low passfiltering,moving objects or defocus of the camera lens during *** viewers are annoyed by blur artefact and the image's perceived quality suffers as a *** high-quality input is relevant to communication service providers and imaging product makers because it may help them improve their ***-based blur assessment is time-consuming,expensive and must adhere to subjective evaluation *** paper presents a revolutionary no-reference blur assessment algorithm based on reblurring blurred images using a special mask developed with a Markov basis and *** blur score of blurred images has been calculated from the local variation in horizontal and vertical pixel intensity of blurred and re-blurred *** objective scores are generated by applying proposed algorithm on the two image databases i.e.,Laboratory for image and video engineering(LIVE)database and Tampere image database(TID 2013).Finally,on the basis of objective and subjective scores performance analysis is done in terms of Pearson linear correlation coefficient(PLCC),Spearman rank-order correlation coefficient(SROCC),Mean absolute error(MAE),Root mean square error(RMSE)and Outliers ratio(OR).The existing no-reference blur assessment algorithms have been used various methods for the evaluation of blur from no-reference image such as Just noticeable blur(JNB),Cumulative Probability Distribution of Blur Detection(CPBD)and Edge Model based Blur Metric(EMBM).The results illustrate that the proposed method was successful in predicting high blur scores with high accuracy as compared to existing no-reference blur assessment algorithms such as JNB,CPBD and EMBM algorithms.

It is well recognized that the voltage stability of a power system is affected by the load model and hence, to effectively analyze the reactive power compensation of an isolated hybrid wind-diesel based power system, the loads need to be considered along with the generators in a transient analysis. This paper gives a detailed mathematical modeling to compute the reactive power response with small voltage perturbation for composite load. The composite load is a combination of the static and dynamic load model. To develop this composite load model, the exponential load is used as a static load model and induction motors （IMs） are used as a dynamic load model. To analyze the dynamics of IM load, the fifth, third and first order model of IM are formulated and compared using differential equations solver in Matlab coding. Since the decentralized areas have many small consumers which may consist large numbers of IMs of small rating, it is not realistic to model either a single large rating unit or all small rating IMs together that are placed in the system. In place of using a single large rating IM, a group of motors are considered and then the aggregate model of IM is developed using the law of energy conservation. This aggregate model is used as a dynamic load model. For different simulation studies, especially in the area of voltage stability with reactive power compensation of an isolated hybrid power system, the transfer function AQ/AV of the composite load is required. The transfer function of the composite load is derived in this paper by successive derivation for the exponential model of static load and for the fifth and third order IM dynamic load model using state space model.

Greenhouse technology is a practical option for the production and drying of agricultural products in controlled environment. For the successful design of a greenhouse, the selection of a suitable shape and orientation is of great importance. Of various shapes of greenhouses, the even-span roof and the Quonset shape greenhouses are the most commonly used for crop cultivation and drying. The orientation of greenhouses is kept east-west for maximum utilization of solar radiations. Hybrid and modified greenhouse dryers have been proposed for drying of products. The agricultural products dried in greenhouses are found to be better in quality as compared to open sun drying because they are protected from dust, rain, insects, birds and animals. Moreover, various greenhouses shapes along with their applications have been reviewed.

The aim of this paper is to analyze unbalanced radial distribution systems(UBRDS)with the distribution static compensator(D-STATCOM).The main objectives of this paper are D-STATCOM allocation in UBRDS with an objective of providing reactive power support to enhance voltage profile and reduce line losses of the distribution network,determination of optimal D-STATCOM rating subjected to minimization of total cost,and impact of D-STATCOM placement on improving power factor and savings in cost of energy *** analysis is conducted on a large industrial load model with light,medium and high loading ***,the impact of load growth is also considered for better planning of the power distribution *** results are obtained on standard 25-bus UBRDS to check the feasibility of the proposed methodology.

An easy, safe, solvent free and effective method for the synthesis of pyrazole-substituted chalcones has been achieved by grinding pyrazole aldehydes and acetophenones in the presence of activated barium hydroxide （C-200） in high yield within short span of time. All reactions were carried out just by grinding the two reactants in the presence of activated barium hydroxide （C-200）. Results are also compared with sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide.
