A Survey on Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks: Perspectives on Protocol Design for Signaling, MAC and Routing

Underwater acoustic sensor networks (UASNs) are often used for environmental and industrial sensing in undersea/ocean space, therefore, these networks are also named underwater wireless sensor networks (UWSNs). Underwater sensor networks are different from other sensor networks due to the acoustic channel used in their physical layer, thus we should discuss about the specific features of these underwater networks such as acoustic channel modeling and protocol design for different layers of open system interconnection (OSI) model. Each node of these networks as a sensor needs to exchange data with other nodes;however, complexity of the acoustic channel makes some challenges in practice, especially when we are designing the network protocols. Therefore based on the mentioned cases, we are going to review general issues of the design of an UASN in this paper. In this regard, we firstly describe the network architecture for a typical 3D UASN, then we review the characteristics of the acoustic channel and the corresponding challenges of it and finally, we discuss about the different layers e.g. MAC protocols, routing protocols, and signal processing for the application layer of UASNs.

Is Breast Background Parenchymal Enhancement on MRI Related to BI-RADS Score and Follow-Up Rate?

Objective: We investigated the correlations between background parenchymal enhancement (BPE) and MRI interpretations with respect to short-interval follow-ups and biopsy rates. Methods: All accessible MRI examinations from 128 women during a limited time period in 2016 were evaluated. A blinded radiologist visually categorized BPE as minimal, mild, moderate, or marked. A BI-RADS category was also assigned. We used descriptive statistics to report the findings and chi-square and Fisher’s exact tests to compare categories. Results: Prevalence of minimal, mild, moderate, and marked BPE was 14.1%, 43.0%, 32.0%, and 10.9%, respectively. The short-interval follow-up rates were 22.2%, 27.3%, 26.8%, and 7.1% in women with minimal, mild, moderate, and marked BPE, respectively. BPE was not associated with the short-interval follow-up rate (p-value = 0.477). Biopsy rates were 22.2%, 27.3%, 22.0%, and 57.1% in women with minimal, mild, moderate, and marked BPE, respectively. Although there was no significant relationship between biopsy rates and BPE levels (p-value = 0.095) in the total population, these two factors were significantly associated in premenopausal women (p-value = 0.023) and in women of 30 - 39 years (p-value = 0.001). Conclusion: Higher BPE does not correlate with short-interval follow-up rates, but appears to be related to biopsy rate, thus causing false-positives and unnecessary biopsy recommendations, particularly in younger, premenopausal women.

In interpretation of remote sensing images, it is possible that some images which are supplied by different sensors become incomprehensible. For better visual perception of these images, it is essential to operate series of pre-processing and elementary corrections and then operate a series of main processing steps for more precise analysis on the images. There are several approaches for processing which are depended on the type of remote sensing images. The discussed approach in this article, i.e. image fusion, is the use of natural colors of an optical image for adding color to a grayscale satellite image which gives us the ability for better observation of the HR image of OLI sensor of Landsat-8. This process with emphasis on details of fusion technique has previously been performed;however, we are going to apply the concept of the interpolation process. In fact, we see many important software tools such as ENVI and ERDAS as the most famous remote sensing image processing tools have only classical interpolation techniques (such as bi-linear (BL) and bi-cubic/cubic convolution (CC)). Therefore, ENVI- and ERDAS-based researches in image fusion area and even other fusion researches often don’t use new and better interpolators and are mainly concentrated on the fusion algorithm’s details for achieving a better quality, so we only focus on the interpolation impact on fusion quality in Landsat-8 multispectral images. The important feature of this approach is to use a statistical, adaptive, and edge-guided interpolation method for improving the color quality in the images in practice. Numerical simulations show selecting the suitable interpolation techniques in MRF-based images creates better quality than the classical interpolators.

目的:评介LASIK手术的结果和并发症。方法:随机选择2003-03/2004-03被实施手术并填写特殊形式问卷的230只手术眼列入本研究。患者数据收集和评价采用SPSS软件进行卡方分析和Fisher统计学检验。患者术后随访时间为3mo。残余屈光度在±0.5D以内为完全矫正,大于±0.5D为相对矫正。结果:全部230眼中,女性122眼,男性108眼。24眼(10.4%)为近视,188眼(81.8%)为近视伴散光,5眼(2.2%)为远视,13眼为远视伴散光。204眼年龄为40岁以下,26眼大于40岁。根据术后视力恢复程度,225眼(97.8%)被完全矫正,5眼(2.2%)为相对矫正。术后3mo随访,完全矫正的在近视患者为96.0%,近视伴散光为88.0%,远视为60.0%,远视伴散光为62.0%。术后3mo时,224眼(97.4%)未见任何并发症,其余只有轻微的副作用。结论:LASIK手术对于矫正屈光不正是安全、有效的且并发症局限。手术结果具有可比性。

目的:比较原发性和复发性翼状胬肉羊膜移植术和自体结膜瓣移植术的效果,测定指标为术后复发率。方法:对从2004-04/2006-02连续翼状胬肉病例作前瞻性研究。患者被随机分为2组:羊膜移植组(26例)和自体结膜瓣移植组(24例)。所有病例均用羊膜移植术或自体结膜瓣移植术,并广泛切除纤维血管组织。随访24mo观察复发和并发症。手术操作由同一位手术医师施行。对人口统计变数、手术技术、复发和术后并发症的相关性进行分析。结果:患者男女比例为4∶1,右眼与左眼的比例为3∶2。其中70%翼状胬肉是原发性,30%为复发。最常见的临床症状是眼部充血和视力下降,最常见的并发症是复发和角膜瘢痕。随访1mo,羊膜移植组和自体结膜瓣移植组的复发率分别为3.8%,8.3%,随访24mo后比例上升为46.2%,25%。结论:自体结膜瓣移植术后2a随访的成功率更好。翼状胬肉羊膜移植术复发率高,不被广泛接受。

Objective: To investigate and predict the effects of climate change on the potential distribution of the main vector and reservoir hosts of the disease in yazd province in the ***: Distribution data for vector and reservoir hosts of zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis in yazd province were obtained from earlier studies conducted in the *** ecological niche modeling was used to predict environmental ***-CSM1-1(m) model and two climate change scenarios, RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 were used for horizons 2030 and 2050 climate *** projections were based on data of a regional climate change ***: With both scenarios in 2030 and 2050, the results of jackknife test indicated that the mean temperature of wettest quarter and temperature annual range had the greatest effect on the model for the vector and the reservoir hosts, ***: The climate conditions are the major determinants of zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis incidence rate in yazd *** climate conditions provide favorable habitats for ease transmission of zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis in this endemic *** suitability for the vector and reservoir will be expanding in the coming years compared with the current conditions, such that, in horizon 2030 & 2050, the probability of the presence of the vector and reservoir within 38 580 and 37 949 km^2, respectively, from yazd province is above 60%.Moreover, an increase is predicted in the presence of the vector in the western parts and the reservoir in the northern and central parts of the province in the *** the role of environmental and bioclimatic factors in zoonotic cutaneous leishmaniasis occurrence can provide a guide for policy-makers in the creation and implementation of more effective policies for prevention and control.
