The synergistic inhibition effect of poly(ethylene glycol)-400(PEG-400)and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTmAB)on the corrosion of Zn and Zn-Ni alloys in 8 mol/L KOH solution saturated with Zn O was observed by potentiodynamic anodic/cathodic polarization(PDP),and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)*** electrochemical studies confirmed that there was a synergism between PEG-400 and CTmAB on corrosion inhibition of Zn and its *** inhibition efficiency of the mixed inhibitors,250 mg/L CTmAB+250 mg/L PEG-400,was found to be much higher than that of the single inhibitor,500 mg/L PEG-400 or 500 mg/L *** electron microscopic(SEm)investigations before and after the corrosion inhibition process emphasize the synergistic effect of the mixed ***,it was found that the addition of the investigated inhibitors to the alkaline solution enhanced the discharge and capacity of the alkaline battery *** obtained electrochemical data exhibited a good correlation with the computational one.

With the help of Aspen Plus,a two-dimensional unsteady CFD model is developed to simulate the coal gasification process in a fixed bed gasifier.A developed and validated two dimensional CFD model for coal gasification has been used to predict and assess the viability of the syngas generation from coal gasification employing the updraft fixed bed *** process rate model and the sub-model of gas generation are *** particle size variation and char burning during gasification are also taken into *** order to verify the model and increase the understanding of gasification characteristics,a set of experiments and numerical comparisons have been carried *** simulated results in the bed are used to predict the composition of syngas and the conversion of *** model proposed in this paper is a promising tool for simulating the coal gasification process in a fixed bed gasifier.

There is a dearth of information on the mutual interaction between metal intoxication and adipocere ***,40 adult female albino rats were distributed into two equal groups,one used as control while the other orally administered single dose of cadmium chloride(CdCl_(2))225mg/kg·bw(LD_(min)).Control group was killed by cervical *** of dead rats of both groups were subjected for determination of iodine value and estimation of cadmium(Cd)residues while the other half of both groups were submerged in opened glass container previously filled with 4L dechlorinated tap water kept in closed room with an open air access(one cadaver/container).Gross morphological changes of submerged cadavers were recorded weekly along the *** the end of the experiment,after 3months,samples were collected again for iodine value determination and estimation of Cd *** obtained results revealed the depressant effect of Cd toxicity on development of *** residues were found in different tissues of cadavers at time of death with the highest amount in the intestines followed by the liver and kidneys,then lungs,adipose tissue,muscles,and finally the *** 3months of water submersion,tissues exhibited significant decrease in the amount of Cd residues but to a limit that was still *** study concluded the possibility of detection of Cd residues even after adipocere ***,it shed light on the possibility of the interference of environmental pollution with the natural rate of decomposition especially adipocere formation.

Delorme's operation plus sphincteroplasty for complete rectal prolapse associated with traumatic fecal incontinence

Rectal prolapse associated with traumatic fecal incontinence is a rare clinical combination. This study was designed to assess Delorme＇s operation with sphincteroplasty as a surgical management of this combination in terms of recurrence and improvement of fecal incontinence. In this prospective study, we enrolled patients suffering from short, full-thickness rectal prolapse associated with traumatic fecal incontinence who had been admitted to Alexandria main University Hospital during the period of may 2010-January 2013. Preoperative data including cause of trauma, duration of symptoms, results of anal manometry, and degree of fecal incontinence using Wexner score were collected from all patients. Delorme＇s procedure with overlap sphincteroplasty was done in all patients. Recurrence of prolapse and improvement of fecal incontinence were assessed after 1, 3, 6 and 12 months. The study included 13 patients aged （32±8.7） years, 9 females and 4 males. Cause of sphincteric injury included previous anal surgery in 7 patients and normal labor in 6 patients. Duration between sphinctefic injury and operation was （8.08±2.47） months. Preoperative Wexner＇s mean score was 16.07±3.4. Early postoperative complications included superficial wound infection （69.2%）, minor wound dehiscence （61.5%）, and postoperative bleeding （7.6%）. Recurrence was detected in 1 patient at 6 month follow-up. Wexner＇s score showed significant improvement for all patients after 6 months （4.00±2.04）. In conclusion, combination of Delorme＇s procedure and sphincteroplasty for treatment of patients with short complete rectal prolapse associated with traumatic fecal incontinence is a safe, effective surgical management with satisfactory results regarding anatomical and functional outcomes.

Artificial intelligence(AI)has recently been used in nanomedical applications,in which implanted intelligent nanosystems inside the human body were used to diagnose and treat a variety of ailments with the help of the Internet of biological Nano Things(IoBNT).Biological circuit engineering or nanomaterial-based architectures can be used to approach the *** nanomedical applications,the blood vascular medium serves as a communication channel,demonstrating a molecular communication system based on flow and *** paper presents a performance study of the channel capacity for flow-based-diffusive molecular communication nanosystems that takes into account the ligand-receptor binding *** earlier studies,we take into account the effects of biological physical characteristics such as blood pressure,blood viscosity,and vascular diameter on channel ***,in terms of drug transmission error probability,the inter-symbol interference(ISI)phenomenon is applied to the proposed *** numerical results show that the proposed AI nanosystems-based IoBNT technology can be successfully implemented in future nanomedicine.

Background The aim of this study was to assess the effect of a 4-week dutasteride treatment on reducing the intraoperative and postoperative bleeding,as well as the amount and duration of irrigation required to clear the urine after transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP)≥50 g in men receiving the antiplatelet drug(APD).materials and methods This double-blind randomized clinical trial included patients with a prostate size≥50 g who were indicated for TURP and were already receiving *** study was conducted in the Urology Department of Cairo University over a 12-month *** preoperative laboratory investigations were performed in all ***,baseline prostate size,serum prostate-specific antigen level,and International Prostate Symptom Score were *** patients were randomly divided into 2 equal groups(groups A and B).Group A,the dutasteride group,received dutasteride(0.5 mg)once daily for 4 *** B,the placebo group,received a placebo capsule once daily for 4 *** groups underwent bipolar *** patients were excluded from the study;9 patients from group A and 6 patients from group B,either due to drug intolerability or loss *** The mean blood loss was insignificant between the 2 groups immediately after and 24 hours after surgery(Δhemoglobin:1.41±0.63 g/dL vs.1.48±0.54 g/dL,2.12±0.70 g/dL vs.2.31±0.78 g/dL,respectively,p=0.631,p=0.333;Δhematocrit:2.97%±1.51%vs.3.16%±1.36%,4.96%±1.87%vs.5.73%±4.39%,respectively,p=0.610,p=0.380).However,there were significant differences in duration of indwelling urethral catheter(5.10±0.55 days vs.5.80±1.79 days,p=0.048),duration of bladder irrigation(13.60±2.85 hours vs.16.33±6.62 hours,p=0.044),and the amount of saline used for bladder irrigation(11.03±2.30 L vs.13.87±6.13 L,p=0.046)between group A and group *** Treatment with dutasteride for 4 weeks before TURP in men receiving APD did not significantly reduce intraoperative or postoperativ

In this study,we focus on the numerical modelling of the interaction between waves and submerged structures in the presence of a uniform flow *** the same and opposite senses of wave propagation are *** main objective is an understanding of the effect of the current and various geometrical parameters on the reflection *** wave used in the study is based on potential theory,and the submerged structures consist of two rectangular breakwaters positioned at a fixed distance from each other and attached to the bottom of a wave *** numerical modeling approach employed in this work relies on the Boundary element method(BEm).The results are compared with experimental data to validate the *** findings of the study demonstrate that the double rectangular breakwater configuration exhibits superior wave attenuation abilities if compared to a single rectangular breakwater,particularly at low ***,the study reveals that wave mitigation is more pronounced when the current and wave propagation are coplanar,whereas it is less effective in the case of opposing current.

Using Lean manufacturing(Lm)tools in production processes is crucial for companies’economic,environmental,and social sustainability *** study shows a structural equation model(SEm)that shows the relationship between Lm Tools like Kaizen(KAI),Gemba(GEm),Value Stream mapping(VSm)and Key Performance Indicator(KPI)with Economic Sustainability(ECS).Seven hypotheses were evaluated with data from 179 responses to a questionnaire about the mexican maquiladora industry,showing that these variables are *** a 95%confidence level,the model was evaluated using the partial least squares *** findings indicate that the relationships between KAI and GEm and KAI and VSm have the strongest relationship,followed by VSm and ECS;however,VSm has the strongest effect on *** on these findings,it is recommended that managers adopt a continuous improvement(KAI)approach based on working directly on the shop floor(GEm and VSm)to support their decisions regarding economic growth(ECS).

In order to maintain the optimal operating temperature of the battery surface and meet the demand for thermal storage technology,battery thermal management system based on phase change materials has attracted increasing *** this work,a kind of core-shell structured microcapsule was synthesized by an in-situ polymerization,where paraffin was used as the core,while methanol was applied to mod-ify the melamine-formaldehyde shell to reduce toxicity and improve thermal ***,three different types of heat conductive fillers with the same content of 10 wt.%,i.e.,nano-Al_(2)O_(3),nano-ZnO and carbon nanotubes were added,generating *** microcapsules were uniform,and were not affected by the thermal fillers,which were evenly dispersed *** composite sample with carbon nanotubes(10 wt.%)showed the highest thermal conductivity of 0.50 W/(m K)and latent heat of 139.64 J/***,according to the leakage testing and battery charge/discharge experiments,compared with Al_(2)O_(3)and ZnO,the addition of carbon nanotubes remarkably enhances the heat storage ability as latent heat from 126.98 J/g for the prepared sample with Al_(2)O_(3)and 125.86 J/g for the one with ZnO,then to 139.64 J/g,as well as dissipation performance as a cooling effect by decreasing the sur-face temperature of battery from 2%to 12%of microcapsule,composite sample with carbon nanotubes presents a broad application prospect in battery thermal management system and energy storage field.
