manual investigation of chest radiography(CXR)images by physicians is crucial for effective decision-making in COVID-19 ***,the high demand during the pandemic necessitates auxiliary help through image analysis and machine learning *** study presents a multi-threshold-based segmentation technique to probe high pixel intensity regions in CXR images of various pathologies,including normal *** information is extracted using gray co-occurrence matrix(GLCm)-based features,while vessel-like features are obtained using Frangi,Sato,and meijering *** learning models employing Decision Tree(DT)and RandomForest(RF)approaches are designed to categorize CXR images into common lung infections,lung opacity(LO),COVID-19,and viral pneumonia(VP).The results demonstrate that the fusion of texture and vesselbased features provides an effective mL model for aiding *** mL model validation using performance measures,including an accuracy of approximately 91.8%with an RF-based classifier,supports the usefulness of the feature set and classifier model in categorizing the four different ***,the study investigates the importance of the devised features in identifying the underlying pathology and incorporates histogrambased *** analysis reveals varying natural pixel distributions in CXR images belonging to the normal,COVID-19,LO,and VP groups,motivating the incorporation of additional features such as mean,standard deviation,skewness,and percentile based on the filtered ***,the study achieves a considerable improvement in categorizing COVID-19 from LO,with a true positive rate of 97%,further substantiating the effectiveness of the methodology implemented.

Using Lean manufacturing(Lm)tools in production processes is crucial for companies’economic,environmental,and social sustainability *** study shows a structural equation model(SEm)that shows the relationship between Lm Tools like Kaizen(KAI),Gemba(GEm),Value Stream mapping(VSm)and Key Performance Indicator(KPI)with Economic Sustainability(ECS).Seven hypotheses were evaluated with data from 179 responses to a questionnaire about the mexican maquiladora industry,showing that these variables are *** a 95%confidence level,the model was evaluated using the partial least squares *** findings indicate that the relationships between KAI and GEm and KAI and VSm have the strongest relationship,followed by VSm and ECS;however,VSm has the strongest effect on *** on these findings,it is recommended that managers adopt a continuous improvement(KAI)approach based on working directly on the shop floor(GEm and VSm)to support their decisions regarding economic growth(ECS).

Wave Reflection by Rectangular Breakwaters for Coastal Protection

In this study,we focus on the numerical modelling of the interaction between waves and submerged structures in the presence of a uniform flow *** the same and opposite senses of wave propagation are *** main objective is an understanding of the effect of the current and various geometrical parameters on the reflection *** wave used in the study is based on potential theory,and the submerged structures consist of two rectangular breakwaters positioned at a fixed distance from each other and attached to the bottom of a wave *** numerical modeling approach employed in this work relies on the Boundary element method(BEm).The results are compared with experimental data to validate the *** findings of the study demonstrate that the double rectangular breakwater configuration exhibits superior wave attenuation abilities if compared to a single rectangular breakwater,particularly at low ***,the study reveals that wave mitigation is more pronounced when the current and wave propagation are coplanar,whereas it is less effective in the case of opposing current.

Analysis of the Impact of the Blazhko Effect Both on the Van Hoof Effect and Radial Velocity Amplitude in the Star RR Lyr

The Van Hoof effect is a phase shift existing between the radial velocity curves of hydrogen and metallic lines within the atmosphere of pulsating *** this article,we present a study of this phenomenon through the spectra of the brightest pulsating star RR Lyr of RR Lyrae stars recorded for 22 *** based ourselves,on the one hand,on 1268 spectra(41 nights of observation)recorded between the years 1994 and 1997 at the Observatory of Haute Provence(OHP,France)previously observed by Chadid and Gillet,and on the other hand on 1569 spectra(46nights of observation)recorded at our Oukaimeden Observatory(morocco)between 2015 and *** this study,we have detected information on atmospheric dynamics that had not previously been ***,the Van Hoof effect which results in a clear correlation between the radial velocities of hydrogen and those of the metallic lines has been observed and analyzed at different Blazhko phases.A correlation between the radial velocities of different metallic lines located in the lower atmosphere has been observed as *** the first time,we were able to show that the amplitude of the radial velocity curves deduced from the lines of hydrogen and that of FeⅡ(λ4923.921?)increases toward the minimum of the Blazhko cycle and decreases toward the maximum of the same Blazhko ***,we found that the Van Hoof effect is also modulated by the Blazhko ***,toward the minimum of the Blazhko cycle the Van Hoof effect is more visible and at the maximum of the Blazhko cycle,this effect is *** also observed the temporal evolution of the amplitudes of the radial velocities of the lower and upper *** observed over a long time,we can interpret it as a function of the Blazhko phases.

In order to maintain the optimal operating temperature of the battery surface and meet the demand for thermal storage technology,battery thermal management system based on phase change materials has attracted increasing *** this work,a kind of core-shell structured microcapsule was synthesized by an in-situ polymerization,where paraffin was used as the core,while methanol was applied to mod-ify the melamine-formaldehyde shell to reduce toxicity and improve thermal ***,three different types of heat conductive fillers with the same content of 10 wt.%,i.e.,nano-Al_(2)O_(3),nano-ZnO and carbon nanotubes were added,generating *** microcapsules were uniform,and were not affected by the thermal fillers,which were evenly dispersed *** composite sample with carbon nanotubes(10 wt.%)showed the highest thermal conductivity of 0.50 W/(m K)and latent heat of 139.64 J/***,according to the leakage testing and battery charge/discharge experiments,compared with Al_(2)O_(3)and ZnO,the addition of carbon nanotubes remarkably enhances the heat storage ability as latent heat from 126.98 J/g for the prepared sample with Al_(2)O_(3)and 125.86 J/g for the one with ZnO,then to 139.64 J/g,as well as dissipation performance as a cooling effect by decreasing the sur-face temperature of battery from 2%to 12%of microcapsule,composite sample with carbon nanotubes presents a broad application prospect in battery thermal management system and energy storage field.

Biochemical Liver Functions and molecular Identification of Fasciola hepatica from Experimentally Infected Rat model

The current study was performed to evaluate the liver function status as well as molecular characterization of the recovered worms in rats experimentally infected with F. hepatica. Sixteen male Wister rats aged 30 days were randomly allocated into two groups (n = 8). The first group was infected orally with 15 viable encysted metacercaria of F. hepatica per animal. The other group was kept non-infected (control group). At zero time (before infection), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th weeks post-infection (WPI), blood and serum samples were collected via puncture of retro-orbital plexus of veins from each rat. Serum enzyme level (AST and ALT) and total protein were measured, and the serum protein profile was carried out using agarose gel electrophoresis. During the period of the experiment, serum ALT and AST activities and serum total globulins significantly increased while serum total proteins and albumin markedly decreased in the infected group. On the 14th WPI, the data of the electropherogram showed that globulin fractions (α1-, β- and γ-globulin) levels were significantly increased while α2-globulin was markedly decreased in the infected group. The molecular analysis confirmed the amplification of the ITS1, ITS2 and NDI genes of F. hepatica recovered from the infected liver of rats with amplicon sizes of 630, 510 and 560 bp, respectively. Sequencing of the amplified ITS gene resulted in the determination of 3 strains (PP108836, PP108837, and PP108838). Also, analysis of the ITS2 gene resulted in obtaining 3 isolates under the accession numbers (PP109065, PP109066, and PP109067). In conclusion, fasciolosis in the rat model is suitable for routine experimental infections and caused a pronounced liver dysfunction with discharging of the Fasciola eggs in the faeces and the development of adult stages in the bile ducts. A 56-day feeding period was performed to investigate the possible impacts of dietary nano curcumin(0,50,100,150,and 200 ppm)on the growth,nutrient utilization,non-specific immune parameters,antioxidants in Nile tilapia under chronic low temperature(21.02±0.11◦C).Fishes(n=225;Initial weight=4.39±0.08 g/fish)were randomly stocked at 15 fish/tank for five experimental groups in *** low-temperature circumstances,dietary curcumin in nano form showed no notable alteration in growth variable,nutrient efficiency,digestive enzymes efficiency,biometric indices,survival rates,and hematological ***,the serum of fishes with nano curcumin diets under low-temperature stress displayed higher total protein as well as lower glucose,cortisol,and total cholesterol compared with the control ***,fish fed nano curcumin diets displayed higher lysozyme and bactericidal activities compared to the control group and the best performance was found at dietary nano curcumin level of≥100 ***,groups fed the basal diet demonstrated the poorest antioxidant capacity,and the best superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GPx)existed in fish with nano curcumin diets while the best catalase(CAT)efficiency occurred at higher nano curcumin levels≥100 *** addition,higher counts of intestinal microbiota in terms of total bacterial count(TBC),total yeast and molds count(TYmC),and coliform were noticed in fish consumed the basal diet compared to groups fed on nano curcumin *** conclusion,incorporating nano curcumin at a level of≥100 mg/kg diet(particularly at 150 mg/kg)improved a non-specific immune response,antioxidant,and healthier gastrointestinal microbiota in Nile tilapia under chronic low-temperature stress.

Comparative Studies between Picard’s and Taylor’s methods of Numerical Solutions of First Ordinary Order Differential Equations Arising from Real-Life Problems

To solve the first-order differential equation derived from the problem of a free-falling object and the problem arising from Newton’s law of cooling, the study compares the numerical solutions obtained from Picard’s and Taylor’s series methods. We have carried out a descriptive analysis using the mATLAB software. Picard’s and Taylor’s techniques for deriving numerical solutions are both strong mathematical instruments that behave similarly. All first-order differential equations in standard form that have a constant function on the right-hand side share this similarity. As a result, we can conclude that Taylor’s approach is simpler to use, more effective, and more accurate. We will contrast Rung Kutta and Taylor’s methods in more detail in the following section.
