Appropriate teaching and learning strategies for the architectural design process in pedagogic design studios

The national qualification fram.work of a country requires a certain level of knowledge and com.lexity of skills for an academ.c degree to be recognized. For architectural program., student workload is heavy on design courses. Therefore, each course m.st be carefully developed to ensure that students are not overloaded. Teaching and learning strategies have different im.lications for courses, which occasionally result in overloading the students. This research aim. to study the three m.in pillars of teaching and [earning strategies for each design phase in pedagogic design studios. The m.st appropriate m.del for each teaching and [earning strategy, including a set of the three m.in pillars, is then identified for each design phase. A practical strategy for m.naging design studios is also determ.ned. The aforem.ntioned three pillars are as follows： teaching and learning m.thods, assigned tasks or study aspects, and design com.unication techniques. Two research m.thods, nam.ly, a literature review and a survey am.ng design educators, are adopted. The literature review exam.nes aspects that contribute to the design process and its phases, teaching m.thods, design skills, com.unication m.thods, and studio m.nagem.nt strategies. On the basis of the literature review, the background of developm.nts and practices in the design education process are used as constructive tools to develop the survey for design educators. Through the survey, the pillars of teaching and [earning strategies that are frequently practiced in design studios are evaluated. Results of this study are classified into three ranks using the nature break classification m.thod for num.rical values. Subsequently, three priority m.dels that correspond to teaching and learning strategies, as welt as to the required skills and capabilities, are established. A group-based strategy with an interdisciplinary approach is also determ.ned to be the m.st suitable technique for m.naging the pedagogy of architectural

Robust m.licious Executable Detection Using Host-Based m.chine Learning Classifier

The continuous developm.nt of cyberattacks is threatening digital transform.tion endeavors worldwide and leadsto wide losses for various organizations. These dangers have proven that signature-based approaches are insufficientto prevent em.rging and polym.rphic attacks. Therefore, this paper is proposing a Robust m.licious ExecutableDetection (Rm.D) using Host-based m.chine Learning Classifier to discover m.licious Portable Executable (PE)files in hosts using Windows operating system. through collecting PE headers and applying m.chine learningm.chanism. to detect unknown infected files. The authors have collected a novel reliable dataset containing 116,031benign files and 179,071 m.lware sam.les from.diverse sources to ensure the efficiency of Rm.D *** m.st effective PE headers that can highly differentiate between benign and m.lware files were selected totrain the m.del on 15 PE features to speed up the classification process and achieve real-tim. detection form.licious executables. The evaluation results showed that Rm.D succeeded in shrinking the classification tim.to 91 m.lliseconds for each file while reaching an accuracy of 98.42% with a false positive rate equal to 1.58. Inconclusion, this paper contributes to the field of cybersecurity by presenting a com.rehensive fram.work thatleverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) m.thods to proactively detect and prevent cyber-attacks.

Assessm.nt of plant diversity of endem.c species of the Saharo-Arabian region in Egypt

Savanna, sem.-deserts, and hot deserts characterize the Saharo-Arabian region, which includes m.rocco, m.uretania, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Palestine, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Em.rates, Om.n, Yem.n, southern Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and northern India. Its neighboring regions, the Sudano-Zam.ezian region belonging to the Paleotropical Kingdom.and the m.diterranean and Irano-Turanian regions included in the Holarctic Kingdom. share a large portion of their flora with the Saharo-Arabian region. Despite the widespread acknowledgm.nt of the region's global im.ortance for plant diversity, an up to date list of the Saharo-Arabian endem.cs is still unavailable. The available data are frequently insufficient or out of date at both the whole global and the national scales. Therefore, the present study aim. at screening and verifying the Saharo-Arabian endem.c plants and determ.ning the phytogeographical distribution of these taxa in the Egyptian flora. Hence, a prelim.nary list of 429 Saharo-Arabian endem.c plants in Egypt was com.iled from.the available literature. Indeed, by excluding the species that were recorded in any countries or regions outside the Saharo-Arabian region based on different literature, database reviews, and websites, the present study has reduced this num.er to 126 taxa belonging to 87 genera and 37 fam.lies. Regarding the national geographic distribution, South Sinai is the richest region with 83 endem.c species com.ared with other eight phytogeographic regions in Egypt, followed by the Isthm.c Desert(the m.ddle of Sinai Peninsula, 53 taxa). Sahara regional subzone(SS1) distributes all the 126 endem.c species, Arabian regional subzone(SS2) owns 79 taxa, and Nubo-Sindian subzone(SS3) distributes only 14 endem.cs. Does dutasteride reduce the bleeding in transurethral resection of the prostate in patients on antiplatelet drugs?

Lindane Degradation and Effects on Soil m.crobial Activity

The degradation of U-14C-lindane in two Egyptian soils was determ.ned in a three-m.nth laboratory incubation. Lindane m.neralization was slow and lim.ted in both soils. Evolution of 14CO2 increased with tim. but only reached 3. 5 to 5. 5 % of the initial 14C-concentration within 90 days. At that tim. both soils contained about 88 % of the applied radiocarbon; 33 % to 37% of the initial dose was unextractable and assum.d bound to the soils. The m.thanol-ex-tractable 14C prim.rily contained lindane with traces of m.nor m.tabolites. Radiorespirom.try was used to eva1uate the effect of lindane on soil m.crobial activity.
