This paper improves the resampling step of particle filtering（PF） based on a broad interactive genetic algorithm to resolve particle degeneration and particle *** target tracking in image processing,this paper uses the information coming from the particles of the previous fame image and new observation data to self-adaptively determine the selecting range of particles in current fame *** improved selecting operator with jam gene is used to ensure the diversity of particles in mathematics,and the absolute arithmetical crossing operator whose feasible solution space being close about crossing operation,and non-uniform mutation operator is used to capture all kinds of mutation in this *** result of simulating experiment shows that the algorithm of this paper has better iterative estimating capability than extended Kalman filtering（EKF）,PF,regularized partide filtering（RPF）,and genetic algorithm（GA）-PF.

This study develops a comprehensive framework to assess the resilience of transportation networks consisting of deteriorating bridges subjected to earthquake *** this purpose,the structural capacity of highway bridges is estimated during their service life using a set of detailed finite-element models that simulate the progress of *** developed models take into consideration the main environmental stressors and determine the extent of capacity loss as a function of *** on the degraded state of structural components,seismic fragility analyses are performed to obtain a probabilistic evaluation of the extent of damageability of the existing bridges under seismic *** each transportation link normally consists of a number of bridges,the state of damage in the individual bridges is mapped to the corresponding links and a scenario-based approach is employed to estimate the resilience of the entire transportation *** demonstrate how the consequences of structural degradation can be integrated into the developed framework,the large-scale transportation network of Los Angeles and Orange counties is investigated under a series of aging and earthquake *** outcome of this study indicates how the estimates associated with the functionality measures of a transportation network can be improved if the age factor is properly integrated into the framework used for resilience assessment.

Herein, we report the design and synthesis of three new D-A type metal-free carbazole based dyes（S1-3）as effective co-sensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cell（DSSC） sensitized with Ru（Ⅱ） complex（NCSU-10）.In this new design, the electron rich carbazole unit was attached to three different electron withdrawing/anchoring species, viz. 4-amino benzoic acid, sulfanilic acid and barbituric acid. The dyes were characterized by spectral, photophysical and electrochemical analysis. Their optical and electrochemical parameters along with molecular geometries, optimized from DFT have been employed to apprehend the effect of the structures of these co-sensitizers on the photovoltaic performances. Further, S1-3 dyes were co-sensitized along with a well-known NCSU-10 dye in order to broaden the spectral response of the co-sensitized devices and hence improve the efficiency. The photovoltaic performance studies indicated that, the device fabricated using S1 dye as co-sensitizer with 0.2 mM of NCSU-10 exhibited improved PCE of 9.55% with JSC of 22.85 mA cm-2, VOC of 0.672 V and FF of 62.2%, whereas the DSSC fabricated with dye NCSU-10（0.2 mM） alone displayed PCE of 8.25% with JSC of 20.41 mA cm-2, VOC of 0.667 V and FF of 60.6%. Furthermore, electronic excitations simulated using time-dependent DFT, were in good agreement with the experimentally obtained results of the co-sensitizers, indicating that the exchange-correlation function and basis set utilized for predicting the spectra of the co-sensitizers are quite appropriate for the calculations. In conclusion, the results showed the potential of simple organic co-sensitizers in the development of efficient DSSCs.

The commencement of China–Pakistan Economic Corridor has led to the appreciation of Pakistan’s economic outlook from 5.4%to 5.8%by the World *** upgraded outlook is a welcome sign but it is still trivial,essentially attributable to the electric power crisis,which approximately trims 2%of Pakistan’s economic growth *** 60%of the CPEC(China–Pakistan Economic Corridor)funds are directed at Pakistan’s energy sector,hence,demanding careful attention of both researchers and policy analysts *** study is based upon a meta-analytic review of literature concerning CPEC and Pakistan’s energy *** results of the study demonstrate that CPEC is an easing agent for Pakistan’s energy crisis(82.30%).The results also highlight points of concern,including inadequate planning(47%),dilapidated electricity distribution system causing losses(64.7%),and an unsustainable energy mix(64.7%).The study further validates the findings via Spearman’s *** rρvalue for the possible“resolution of Pakistan’s energy crisis”is 0.5426 achieving a significance level of 98%and a corresponding p-value of *** significant negative rρvalue attained is−0.4894 which establishes the fact that lack of planning can hinder the energy crisis resolution.

Petrology and Geochemistry of Some Ophiolitic Metaperidotites from the Eastern Desert of Egypt:Insights into Geodynamic Evolution and Metasomatic Processes

Ophiolitic peridotites exposed in the Eastern Desert(ED)of Egypt record multiple stages of evolution,including different degrees of partial melting and melt extraction,serpentinization,carbonatization and *** present study deals with metaperidotites at two selected localities in the central and southern ED,namely Wadi El-Nabáand Wadi Ghadir,*** represent residual mantle sections of a Neoproterozoic dismembered ophiolite that tectonically emplaced over a volcano-sedimentary succession that represents island–arc *** studied metaperidotites are serpentinized,with the development of talc-carbonate and quartz-carbonate rocks,especially along shear and fault *** relics of primary minerals(olivine,orthopyroxene and Cr-spinel)are preserved in a few samples of partiallyserpentinized *** of the Cr-spinel crystals have fresh cores followed by outer zones of ferritchromite and Crmagnetite,which indicates that melt extraction from the mantle protolith took place under oxidizing *** protoliths of the studied metaperidotites were dominated by harzburgites,which is supported by the abundance of mesh and bastite textures in addition to some evidence from mineral and whole-rock chemical *** high Cr#(0.62–0.69;Av.0.66)and low TiO_(2)(<0.3 wt%)contents of the fresh Cr-spinels,the higher Fo(89–92;Av.91)and NiO(0.24–0.54 wt%,Av.0.40)contents of the primary olivine relics,together with the high Mg#(0.91–0.93;Av.91)and low CaO,Al2 O3 and TiO_(2)of the orthopyroxene relics,are all comparable with depleted to highly depleted forearc harzburgite from a suprasubduction zone *** investigated peridotites have suffered subsequent phases of metasomatism,from oceanfloor hydrothermal alteration(serpentinization)to magmatic hydrothermal *** enrichment of the studied samples in light rare earth elements(LREEs)relative to the heavy ones(HREEs)is attributed to most probably be due to the contamination

Aluminum （Al）-based aluminum oxide （Al2O3） and silicon carbide （SIC） particles hybrid metal matrix com- posites were processed by powder metallurgy technique, followed by sintering at 500 ℃ and then hot extrusion. The tribological properties of these composites with different weight fractions of Al2O3 and SiC were investigated; extrusion process significantly reduces the extent of porosity after cold compaction and sintering processes. Hybridization of the two reinforcements improved hardness and wear resistance of the composites. With an increase in SiC content, hardness was increased and consequently the wear resistance was enhanced also. Scanning electron microscopy observations show a better interfacial bond between matrix and reinforcements and a better distribution of the reinforcements.

Objective:The objectives of this study were to determine the proportion of smokers regis-tered at the quit smoking clinic at a public hospital in northeastern Malaysia who successfully quit smoking and the predictive factors for successfully quitting ***:This was a cross-sectional study involving smokers aged more than 18 years old and registered with the clinic from January 1,2012,to October 31,*** were obtained with a designed questionnaire that consisted of sociodemographic information,medical history,smoking characteristics,and type of treatment received by *** who quit smoking 6 months after being registered at the quit smoking clinic were considered as successful *** lo-gistic regression was applied to determine the predictive factors for successfully quitting ***:From a total of 202 respondents,42.6%[95%confidence interval(CI)35.8-49.4%]of them successfully quit *** logistic regression showed that the number of ciga-rettes smoked per day(adjusted odds ratio 2.51,95%CI 1.17-5.41)and a previous quit attempt(adjusted odds ratio 1.88,95%CI 1.03-3.44)were significant predictors for successfully quitting ***:This study shows that the proportion of smokers who successfully quit smoking among smokers registered at the quit smoking clinic was relatively high.A number of cigarettes smoked per day of 20 or fewer and a previous quit attempt significantly predict successful quitting of smoking.

The power and voltage levels of renewable energy resources is growing with the evolution of the power electronics and switching module *** that,the need for the development of a compact and highly efficient solid-state transformer is becoming a critical task in-order to integrate the current AC grid with the new renewable energy *** objective of this paper is to present the design,implementation,and testing of a compact multi-port solid-state transformer for microgrid integration *** proposed system has a four-port transformer and four converters connected to the *** transformer has four windings integrated on a single common ***,it can integrate different renewable energy resources and energy storage *** port has a rated power of 25 kW,and the switching frequency is pushed to 50 k *** ports are chosen to represent a realistic industrial microgrid model consisting of grid,energy storage system,photovoltaic system,and *** grid port is designed to operate at 4.16 k VAC corresponding to 7.2 kV DC bus voltage,while the other three ports operate at 500 ***,the grid,energy storage and photovoltaic ports are active ports with dual active bridge topologies,while the load port is a passive port with full bridge rectifier *** proposed design is first validated with simulation results,and then the proposed transformer is implemented and *** results show that the designed system is suitable for 4.16 k VAC medium voltage grid integration.
