HLA-DQB1~* alleles and genetic susceptibility to type 1 diabetes mellitus

AIM: To determine human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-DQB1 allele association with susceptibility to type 1 diabetes (T1D) and to clinical and laboratory findings. METHODS: This study was conducted on 85 unrelated Egyptian children with T1D recruited consecutively from the Pediatric Diabetes Endocrinology outpatients Clinic; Mansoura University Children’s Hospital, Egypt. Patient mean follow up period was 2.5 years. Patients were subdivided according to level of HbA1c (optimal/suboptimal control < 8.5% and poor control ≥ 8.5%). The control group consisted of 113 unrelated age- and sex-matched healthy subjects without T1D or other autoimmune diseases. Genomic DNA extraction was done for all subjects using a DNA isolation kit. HLA-Class II-DQB1 allele typing was carried out with a polymerase chain reaction-sequence-specific oligonucleotide probe using a INNO-LiPA HLA-DQB1 update kit. RESULTS: Significant differences were detected between Egyptian patients with T1D and control groups in the frequencies of DQB1*02 [44.4% vs 18.6%, corrected P value (Pc) < 0.001] and DQB1*03 (41.2% vs 24.4%, Pc < 0.001). Significant differences were also observed between control groups and T1D patients in the frequencies of DQB1*05 (14.6% vs 7.2%, P = 0.029) and DQB1*06 (34.1% vs 7.2%, P < 0.001). However, after correction for multiple comparisons, the significance was retained for HLA-DQB1*06 (Pc < 0.001) but lost for HLA-DQB1*05. HLA-DQB1*0201, *0202, *030201 were positively associated with T1D (Pc = 0.014, Pc < 0.001, and Pc < 0.001 respectively), while HLA-DQB1*060101 was negatively associated (Pc < 0.001) with the condition. Although the HLA-DQB1 alleles 030101 and 050101 were significantly higher in controls (P = 0.016, P = 0.025 respectively), both of them lost statistical significance after correction of P value. The frequency of the HLA-DQB1 genotypes 02/02, 02/03, and 03/03 was higher in T1D patients, and the frequency of the genotypes 03/06, 05/06, and 06/06 was higher in controls,

Preparation and Properties of PBXs Based on FOX-7 in Controlled Fragmentation Warhead Application

Polymer bonded explosive(PBX)formulations were successfully prepared in the laboratory scale containing 1,1-diamino-2,2-dinitroethene(FOX-7)and hexogen(RDX)as brisant high explosives and different binder types of polyurethane(PU)based on glycidyl azide polymer(GAP) and hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB) as an energetic and inert polymeric binder *** technique was used for the preparation of different PBX formulations based on FOX-7/RDX and PU(GAP/HTPB)with 14% *** sensitivity to different initial impulses and performance characteristics of the explosive and lethal zone of the tested controlled fragmentation warhead by the fragmentation warhead assessment test(arena test)were studied,in which the arena test was carried out with a controlled fragmentation warhead made from Ck45 steel,with dimensions(100 mm length,30 mm outer diameter and 3 mm thickness).Results show that PBXGF4 has lower sensitivity to impact and heat than those of PBXGR4 by 188.4% and 3.2% *** friction sensitivity is the same as that of *** has better performance,in which detonation velocity increases by 2.1% and brisance increases by 0.5% when compared with those of *** was concluded that PBXGF4 which based on FOX-7 bonded with PU/GAP matrix has good characteristics as PBX,specially in the sensitivity to impact and can be applied for replacing PBXs based on RDX in the advanced PBXs for low sensitive fragmentation warheads.

Effects of Plasticizers,Antioxidants and Burning Rate Modifiers on Aging Performance of the HTPB/HMDI Composite Solid Propellant

The effects of plasticizers,antioxidants and burning rate modifiers on the aging performance of the composite solid propellant based on hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)/hexamethylene diisocyanate(HMDI)were explored by apply-ing an accelerated aging program for 90 day at 70 ℃. The HTPB propellant matrix with the diisooctyl sebacate(DOS)as plasti-cizers and diisooctyl azelate(DOZ), antioxidants as N,N ′-Diphenyl-p-phenylenediamine(AO) and 2,2′-methylenebis(4-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol)(cyanox 2246)and burning rate modifiers as barium ferrite(BF),copper chromites(CC)and fer-ric oxide(FO)were varied. Results show that sample(S1)which based on DOS decreases the stress value and increases the strain value which considered to be an excellent start for aging program. Sample(S3)containing AO presents the higher resis-tance to oxidation showing the better performance that reflects on increasing the shelf life of the composite solid propellant mo-tor. Sample(S5)which based on BF enhances the ballistic performance among over the other tested two samples. The accelerat-ed aging program allowed us to estimate the motor in-service lifetime.

Robust correlation to predict dew point pressure of gas condensate reservoirs

When the bottom-hole flowing pressure in a gas condensate reservoir drops below the dew point pressure,liquid starts to build up around the well bore resulting in gas productivity *** this reason it is important to be able to accurately either measure or estimate the dew point *** condensate formed in the reservoir will not flow until its saturation reaches the critical saturation and in many cases it might not be entirely *** order to maximize gas production and condensate recovery,the reservoir pressure must be maintained close to the dew point *** attempts have been made to predict the dew point pressure in case the gas sample becomes unavailable or measured value is ***,most of these attempts have minor success rates and are based on limited *** this paper we present a robust,cheap,and easy model for predicting the dew point pressure for gas condensate *** new model is an intelligent based model called“Gene Expression Programming”that is carried out to generate a precise and accurate correlation to estimate the dew point pressure in condensate gas *** new model has been trained and tested using a large data bank collected for the *** of the suggested correlation has been compared to published *** validity of this model has also been compared to experimental data and other published correlations.

Elicitation of PVY Resistance by Coniothyrium aleuritis

Endophytes associated with plants are recognized as bio-reservoirs of natural products and denote a significant symbiotic interaction in *** penetrate the plant’s interior tissues without showing any indications of disease or obvious *** this study,the potential of a novel and new isolated plant growth-stimulating fungus,Coniothyrium aleuritis,was evaluated against PVY(the pathogen potato virus Y)on potato *** parameters,including disease severity,PVY titer,enzymatic profiling,defense-related biochemical marker(carotenoid),phenolic compounds,proline content,as well as growth and yield parameters,have been investigated to clarify the role of *** isolate in mitigating PVY-induced damage due to virus *** and tobacco plants treated with *** grew faster,showed fewer symptoms of disease,and had lower levels of PVY accumulation than plants grown without the *** enzymes polyphenol oxidase,catalase,and superoxide dismutase were increased in treated potatoes.A notable upsurge in the transcription levels of defensive genes(PR1b,and PAL1 in potato and PR1 and Coi1 in tobacco),phenolic compounds,carotenoid,and proline contents was observed in treated plants after *** the experimental and analytical data show that *** is effective in supporting potato yield and preventing PVY *** findings suggest that *** is a promising and eco-friendly treatment for controlling PVY infections.

基于实验测量和文献调研建立了包含700多个样本的凝析气藏数据集,对常用的计算露点压力的经验关系式和状态方程进行了评估,并新建了一个经验关系式,对各种关系式及Peng-Robinson状态方程进行了对比评估和参数敏感性分析。研究表明,目前常用的凝析气判别标准不够准确;Peng-Robinson状态方程不具有唯一解,受C7+组分的表征关系式和分割方案等多种因素的影响;应用于建立的数据集时,Nemeth-Kennedy关系式准确度最高,其次为elsharkawy关系式和Godwin关系式,Shokir关系式由于无法用于不含C7+组分的样本,准确度最低;新建关系式的平均绝对误差、均方根误差和决定系数分别为7.6%,588和0.87,在统计学意义上优于前人4种关系式。通过与实验数据和Peng-Robinson状态方程模拟结果进行对比验证了新建关系式的准确性和有效性。

The vast majority of prior studies on droplet impact have focused on collisions of liquid droplets with spatially homogeneous(i.e.,uniform-wettability)*** in recent years,there has been growing interest on droplet impact on nonuniform wettability surfaces,which are more relevant in *** paper presents first an experimental study of axisymmetric droplet impact on wettability-patterned *** experiments feature millimeter-sized water droplets impacting centrally with Weθ_(2)(i.e.,the outer domain is more wettable than the inner one).The experimental observations are consistent with the scaling and predictions of the analytical model,thus outlining a strategy for predicting droplet impact behavior for more complex wettability patterns.

GnRH-Agonist Trigger versus Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (HCG) Trigger in Cases of Controlled Ovarian Stimulation;Randomized Controlled Trial

Objectives: The aim of the study was to compare the efficacy and safety of GnRH-agonist to the human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) trigger in cases of simple ovarian stimulation. Study design: Randomized controlled trial was conducted on 291 women complaining of unexplained infertility visiting Elshatby Maternity University Hospital from February to December 2019. Trial registration unique ID is PACTR202001787868341 (https://***/). Age included from 20 - 43 years. All patients were stimulated by the sequential stimulation protocol using letrozole then FSH injection, when the criteria of ovulation trigger were reached; cases were randomized into two groups using closed envelopes method.
