Objective:To investigate the anti-androgenic properties of symplocos racemosa Roxb.(***)in the treatment of hyperandrogenemia associated polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOs)in a letrozole induced PCOs rat ***:The testosterone levels were used to evaluate the anti-androgenic effect of *** in letrozole induced PCOs rats for 21 *** low(250 mg/kg),mid(500 mg/kg)and high dose(1000 mg/kg)of *** was given to the PCOs induced rats for 15 d post letrozole induction to determine the effective dose of *** in the treatment of hyperandrogenemia associated *** hormones such as estrogen and progesterone were also assayed along with testosterone to determine the fluctuations in sex steroid levels in PCOs rats induced by ***:*** treatment significantly decreased testosterone levels which were found to be elevated in PCOs rats induced by *** significantly restored other blood biochemical parameters such as estrogen,progesterone and cholesterol *** also restored the histology of ovarian *** ovarian weights and uterine weights were also significantly recovered after the *** ***:The mid dose(500 mg/kg)and high dose(1000 mg/kg)of *** were found to be effective in the treatment of hyperandrogenemia in *** effect of *** was found to be comparable with clomiphene *** citrate which was being used as the major medicine in the treatment of PCOs could now be replaced with *** in the management of PCOs.

The Li-Mn ferrites with composite divalent and tetravalent non-magnetic ions doping were prepared by ceramic method and studied for the first time to investigate their structural and electrical properties. It has been confirmed from the studies that these materials result in properties suitable for microwave applications. The structural properties have con- firmed the formation of cubic spinel ferrite and the substitutions of non magnetic ions have resulted in increase of unit cell dimensions and hence the grain size with increase in dopant content. An IR study asserts the same. Electrical Prop- erties show increase in dc resistivity and decrease in dielectric loss tangent with increase in dopant concentration.

In order to deliver a complete reliable software product, testing is performed. As testing phase carries on, cost of testing process increases and it directly affects the overall project cost. Many a times it happens that the actual cost becomes more than the estimated cost. Cost is considered as the most important parameter with respect to software testing, in software industry. In recent year’s researchers have done a variety of work in the area of Cost optimization by using various concepts like Genetic Algorithm, simulated annealing and Automation in generation of test data etc. This paper proposes an efficient cost effective approach for optimizing the cost of testing using Tabu search (Ts), which will provide maximum code coverage along with the concepts of Dijkstra’s Algorithm which will be implemented in Aspiration criteria of Tabu search in order to optimize the cost and generate a minimum cost path with maximum coverage.

A series of substituted 2,7-dimethylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carboxamides derivatives 5a-5m were synthesized through multi-step reactions. To achieve the synthesis of the desired compounds monobromo and dibromo substituted 2-amino-γ-picoline was reacted with ethyl 2-chloroacetoacetate. The crude ethyl ester subjected to hydrolysis in presence of lithium hydroxide to get 2a and 2b, with imidazo[1,2-a]pyri- dine-3-carboxylic acid to get 3a-3b, on treatment with substituted amines 4a-4g to get desired product 5a-5m in presence of EDCI and HOBt. The substituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-3-carboxamides are characterized by FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and mass spectra. These newly synthesized compounds were tested in vitro for their antimycobacterial activity. The preliminary results of antituberculosis study showed that most of the synthesized compounds 5a-5m demonstrated moderate to good antituberculosis activity. Among the tested compounds 5b, 5d and 5e were found to be the most active with minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 12.5 μg/mL against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (H37 RV strain) ATCC No-27294.

Phenazine Methosulphate Modulating the Expression of Genes Involved in Yeast to Hyphal Form signal Transduction in <i>Candida albicans</i>

Candida albicans has ability to switch from yeast to hyphal form which is an important virulence factor. The objective of the research is to study the effect of Phenazine Methosulphate (PMs) on virulence factors and to study expression profile in yeast to hyphal form transition in C. albicans. Phenazine Methosulphate (PMs) acted as an inhibitor of yeast to hyphal form transition, adhesion and biofilm formation in C. albicans. RTPCR study demonstrated that PMs Modulate the expression of genes involved in Ras1-cAMP-Efg1 and Cek1-MAPK signal transduction pathways. Cell cycle of C. albicans was arrested at s phase on treatment of PMs. Hyphal suppressor genes like Tup1, Mig1 and Nrg1 were upregulated by PMs. Based on our data on expression of genes during yeast to hyphal form transition in presence and absence of PMs, we hypothesize that inhibition of hyphal formation may be due to the overexpression of negative regulators of hyphal growth. Targeting of hyphal specific genes involved in these pathways may be a promising strategy for anti-candida drug development.

Parkinson’s disease was first formally identified by British physician James Parkinson in 1817 as “The shaking Palsy”. L-DOPA (3,4-dihydroxy-phenyl-L-alanine) has been considered as a gold-standard treatment for Parkinson’s disease. The world market for L-DOPA is about 250 t/year and the total market volume is about $101 billion per year. The present review summarizes the different biological sources for the production of L-DOPA. The process for L-DOPA production from different biological sources has advantages over the chemical methods such as, enantiometrically pure L-DOPA, less incubation time and cost effective method. L-DOPA is found naturally in certain plant foods, particularly broad beans which found to replenish brain levels of L-DOPA even more quickly, and for longer periods, than conventional medication.
