This present paper investigates the friction and wear properties of friction material developed by ‘Hot Powder Preform Forging’ technique. The conventional technique to manufacture Metallo-ceramic brak. pads was successfully and economically tried to replace the above process. Compacting and sintering technology suffers from certain major limitations such as inadequate joining of friction element with back.ng plate, poor density levels achieved in friction element owing to limited application of pressure during compacting, poor thermal conductivity due to high levels of porosity in the product, poor strength due to segregation of the impurities along prior particle boundaries (PPB’s) and, wide variations in final characteristics due to large number of variables involved. In contrast to these limitations, the present technique can offer brak. pads of much simpler chemistry but with improved performance on account of simultaneous application of pressure and temperature and with better control of variables. Fade and recovery studies were carried out on a k.auss machine tester following the Economic Commission for Europe Regulation for replacement brak. linings (ECE R-90). μfade, μrecovery, μperformance, % age fade , % age recovery & temperature rise lie within the range for friction materials used for low duty applications. The mechanical properties of these materials were characterized using ASTM standards.

The present study aims to investigate the effect of temporary cerebrospinal fluid pressure(CSFP) reduction on optic nerve head(ONH) and macular vessel density(VD) using optical coherence tomography ***-four eyes of 44 adults with diagnostic lumbar puncture and CSFP reduction were ***-two eyes of 32 healthy volunteers were *** and macular VD images were evaluated differences between baseline and after CSFP *** results showed that the mean CSFP decreased from(11.6±2.1) mm Hg to(8.2±3.4) mm Hg(P0.05).In the study group,decreased VD in the macular parainferior region was associated with CSFP reduction(R^(2)=0.192,P=0.003),the reduction of macular VD in parafoveal(R^(2)=0.098,P=0.018),parainferior(R^(2)=0.104,P=0.021),parasuperior(R^(2)=0.059,P=0.058),paranasal(R^(2)=0.057,P=0.042),paratemporal(R^(2)=0.079,P=0.026) was associated with mean ocular perfusion pressure decrease following CSFP *** vessel density did not differ after CSFP reduction(all P>0.05).In conclusion,macular vessel density decreased in association with CSFP *** vessel density in the macular region is more sensitive than that in peripapillary region after CSFP reduction.

The strength of polycrystalline metals increases with decreasing grain size,following the classical HallPetch ***,this relationship fails when softening occurs at very small grain sizes(typically less than 10 to 20 nm),which limits the development of ultrahigh-strength *** this work.using columnar-grained nanocrystalline Cu-Ag‘samples’,molecular dynamics simulations were performed to investigate the softening mechanism and explore the strengthening strategies(e.g.,formation of solid solution or grain boundary(GB)segregation)in extremely fine nanograined ***,the softening of pure metals is induced by atomic sliding in the GB layer,rather than dislocation activities in the grain interior,although both occur during *** solid solution lowers the stack.ng fault energy and increases the GB energy,which leads to the softening of NC *** segregation stabilizes GB structures,which causes a notable improvement in strength,and this improvement can be further enhanced by optimizing the solute concentration and GB *** work.deepens the understanding of the softening mechanism due to atomic sliding in the GB layer and the strengthening mechanism arising from tailoring the GB stability of immiscible alloys and provides insights into the design of ultrahighstrength materials.

One-dimensional nanostructured materials, such as nanowires, nanobelts, nanotubes and nanocables have been attracting a great research interest in the last decade due to their superior electrical, optical, mechanical and thermal properties, and many methods have been explored to synthesis of the materials, e.g., arc discharge, laser ablation, chemical vapor deposition, thermal evaporation, sol-gel method, template method and so on. In this work. we present a novel and simple method to one-dimensional nanostructured materials by pyrolysis of organic precursor.

We investigate the topological properties of an antiferromagnetic(AFM)chain with an on-site periodic potential,considering the intrinsic spin–orbit coupling and an external Zeeman field along with the *** results indicate that Majorana zero modes(MZMs)can be observed by adjusting the strength of the periodic *** have calculated the energy spectrum,the wave-function and transport properties,and all these results support the existence of MZMs in the AFM ***,multiple topological phase transitions occur as the strength of the periodic potential changes,and several regions support MZMs.

It was shown earlier by Rahaman et al. that a noncommutative-geometry back.round can account for galactic rotation curves without the need for dark.matter. The smearing effect that characterizes noncommutative geometry is described by means of a Gaussian distribution intended to replace the Dirac delta function. The purpose of this paper is two-fold: 1) to account for the galactic rotation curves in a more transparent and intuitively more appealing way by replacing the Gaussian function by the simpler Lorentzian distribution proposed by Nozari and Mehdipour and 2) to show that the smearing effect is both a necessary and sufficient condition for meeting the stability criterion.

Observations of microstructural coarsening at cryogenic temperatures,as well as numerous simulations of grain boundary motion that show faster migration at low temperature than at high temperature,have been troubling because they do not follow the expected Arrhenius *** work.demonstrates that classical equations,that are not simplified,account for all these oddities and demonstrate that non-Arrhenius behavior can emerge from thermally activated *** to this classical model,this occurs when the intrinsic barrier energies of the processes become small,allowing activation at cryogenic *** thermal energy then allows the low energy process to proceed in reverse,so increasing temperature only serves to frustrate the forward *** classical form is shown to reconcile and describe a variety of diverse grain boundary migration observations.

Earthworms and its excreta (vermicast) promises to usher in the ‘Second Green Revolution’ by completely replacing the destructive agro chemicals which did more harm than good to both the farmers and their farmland. Earthworms restore & improve soil fertility and significantly boost crop productivity. Earthworms excreta (vermicast) is a nutritive ‘organic fertilizer’ rich in humus, Nk., micronutrients, beneficial soil microbes—‘nitrogenfixing & phosphate solubilizing bacteria’ & ‘actinomycets’ and growth hormones ‘auxins’, ‘gibberlins’ & ‘cytok.nins’. Both earthworms and its vermicast & body liquid (vermiwash) are scientifically proving as both ‘growth promoters & protectors’ for crop plants. In our experiments with corn & wheat crops, tomato and eggplants it displayed excellent growth performances in terms of height of plants, color & texture of leaves, appearance of flowers & fruits, seed ears etc. as compared to chemical fertilizers and the conventional compost. There is also less incidences of ‘pest & disease attack. and ‘reduced demand of water’ for irrigation in plants grown on vermicompost. Presence of live earthworms in soil also mak.s significant difference in flower and fruit formation in vegetable crops. Composts work.as a ‘slowrelease fertilizer’ whereas chemical fertilizers release their nutrients rather quick.y in soil and soon get depleted. Significant amount of ‘chemical nitrogen’ is lost from soil due to oxidation in sunlight. However, with application of vermicompost the ‘organic nitro gen’ tends to be released much faster from the excreted ‘humus’ by worms and those mineralised by them and the net overall efficiency of nitrogen (N) is considerably greater than that of chemical fertilizers. Availability of phosphorus (P) is sometimes much greater. Our study sh ows that earthworms and vermicompost can promote growth from 50 to 100% over conventional compost & 30 to 40% over chemical fertilizers besides protecting the soil and the agro ecosystem while

Nanostructured HoFeO_(3)powders were obtained by solution combustion method at various glycinenitrate ratios(G/N=0.2,0.4,...,1.4).According to X-ray powder diffractometry data,the presence of two modifications of HoFeO_(3)in the synthesized samples was established:orthorhombic(Pbnm)and hexagonal(P63/mmc).The crystallite size of the obtained compositions varies from 62±6 to 29±3 nm,depending on the G/N *** magnetic structure studies,it is found that HoFeO_(3)obtained with a stoichiometric amount of glycine in the reaction solution is in the magnetically ordered state and is represented by a sextet with quadrupole splitting(QS)=0 mm/s,isomeric shift(IS)=0.36 mm/s and effective field strength(Heff)=497 *** to the results of vibrational magnetometry,it is found that the orthoferrites obtained have a ferromagnetic structure,the main parameters of which(Ms,Mr and Hc)systematically change with a change in the redox ratio of the reaction mixture and,as a consequence,their phase composition,and reach maximum values at a G/N ratio=*** the samples obtained with a significant excess and lack.of glycine(G/N=0.2 and 1.4),despite their amorphous nature,hysteresis loops characteristic of the ferromagnetic state of the substance is *** is hopeful to obtain a pure hexagonal modification of HoFeO_(3)via heat treatment on amorphous products of glycine-nitrate combustion.

An experiment was conducted to explore the effects of digestible amino acid(dAA)concentrations and supplemental protease on live performance and energy partitioning in *** 308 male broilers(n?288)were distributed into 24 floor pens and offered 1 of 4 dietary treatments with 6 replicates from 1 to 35 d of *** treatments consisted of a 2×2 factorial arrangement with dAA concentrations(standard and reduced[34 g/k. below standard])and supplemental protease(without or with)as the main *** 1,15,28,and 35 d of age,feed and broilerswereweighed to determine live ***20 to 23 d of age,a total of 32 birds(2 birds/chamber,4 replicates)were placed in closed-calorimeter chambers to determine respiratory exchange(heat production,HP),apparent metabolisable energy(AME),retained energy(RE),and net energy(NE).From 29 to 35 d of age,supplemental protease in the reduced-dAA diet decreased broiler feed conversion ratio(FCR)by 5.6 points,whereas protease supplementation in the standard-dAA diet increased FCR by 5.8 *** indirect calorimetry assay revealed that supplemental protease decreased(Pk.(t7.1%),and N retention(t8.2%)than those offered the standard-dAA with supplemental *** offered the reduced-dAA without supplemental protease exhibited a 3.6%higher AME-to-crude protein(CP)ratio than those offered other *** supplementation in the standard-and reduced-dAA diets resulted in 2.7%and 5.6%lower AME intak.-to-N retention ratios,respectively,compared with the unsupplemented ***-dAA increased(Pk.(t4.8%),RE(t9.8%),NE intak.(t5.8%),NE intak.-to-CP ratio(t3.0%),and RE fat-to-RE ratio(t8.6%).Protease supplementation increased(Pk. ratio(t2.2%),
