Universal linear intensity transformations using spatially incoherent diffractive processors

Under spatially coherent light,a diffractive optical network composed of structured surfaces can be designed to perform any arbitrary complex-valued linear transformation between its input and output fields-of-view(FOVs)if the total number(N)of optimizable phase-only diffractive features is≥~2N_(i)N_(o),where Ni and No refer to the number of useful pixels at the input and the output FOVs,*** we report the design of a spatially incoherent diffractive optical processor that can approximate any arbitrary linear transformation in time-averaged intensity between its input and output *** spatially incoherent monochromatic light,the spatially varying intensity point spread function(H)of a diffractive network,corresponding to a given,arbitrarily-selected linear intensity transformation,can be written as H(m,n;m′,n′)=|h(m,n;m′,n′)|^(2),where h is the spatially coherent point spread function of the same diffractive network,and(m,n)and(m′,n′)define the coordinates of the output and input FOVs,*** numerical simulations and deep learning,supervised through examples of input-output profiles,we demonstrate that a spatially incoherent diffractive network can be trained to all-optically perform any arbitrary linear intensity transformation between its input and output if N≥~2N_(i)N_(o).We also report the design of spatially incoherent diffractive networks for linear processing of intensity information at multiple illumination wavelengths,operating ***,we numerically demonstrate a diffractive network design that performs all-optical classification of handwritten digits under spatially incoherent illumination,achieving a test accuracy of>95%.Spatially incoherent diffractive networks will be broadly useful for designing all-optical visual processors that can work under natural light.

In this paper, a technical and statistical analysis of security system and security management is provided for crowd energy and smart living. At the same time, a clear understanding is made for crowd energy concept and next generation smart living. Various case examples have been studied and a brief summary has been ***, a statistical analysis has been provided in terms of security management in smart living where it is found that young technocrats give the highest importance to security management in smart living. Last but not the least, current limitation, constraints, and future scope of security implementation have been discussed in terms of crowd energy clustered with next generation smart living.

Gastric cancer in Africa:Current management and outcomes

Gastric cancer is the fourth most common cancer and second most common cause of cancer death worldwide. Globally, gastric cancer poses a significant public health burden - both economically and socially. In 2008, the economic burden from premature cancer deaths and disability was $895 billion and gastric cancer was the second highest cancer responsible for healthy life lost. With the expected increase in cancer deaths and non-communicable diseases, these costs are expected to rise and impact patient care. World Health Organization, estimates a 15% increase in non-communicable disease worldwide, with more than 20% increase occurring in Africa between 2010 and 2020. Mali, West Africa, is ranked 15th highest incidence of gastric cancer worldwide at a rate of 20.3/100000, yet very scarce published data evaluating etiology, prevention or management exist. It is understood that risk factors of gastric cancer are multifactorial and include infectious agents (Helicobacter pylori, Epstein-Barr virus), genetic, dietary, and environmental factors (alcohol, smoking). Interestingly, African patients with gastric cancer are younger, in their 3rd-4th decade, and present at a late stage of the disease. There is sparse data regarding gastric cancer in Africa due to lack of data collection and under-reporting, which impacts incidence and mortality rates. Currently, GLOBOCAN, an International Agency for Research on Cancer resource, is the most comprehensive available resource allowing comparison between nations. In resource limited settings, with already restricted healthcare funding, data is needed to establish programs in Africa that increase gastric cancer awareness, curtail the economic burden, and improve patient management and survival outcomes.

Isolation and biochemical analysis of vesicles from taurohyodeoxycholic acid-infused isolated perfused rat livers

AIM:To isolate biliary lipid-carrying vesicles from isolated perfused rat livers after taurohyodeoxycholic acid(THDC)*** lipid vesicles have been implicated in hepatic disease and THDC was used since it increases biliary phospholipid ***:Rat livers were isolated and perfused via the hepatic portal vein with THDC dissolved in Krebs Ringer Bicarbonate solution,pH 7.4,containing 1 mmol/L CaCl2,5 mmol/L glucose,a physiological amino acid mixture,1%bovine serum albumin and 20%(v/v)washed human erythrocytes at a rate of 2000 nmol/min for *** livers were then removed,homogenized and subjected to centrifugation,and the microsomal fraction was obtained and further centrifuged at 350000 g for 90 min to obtain subcellular *** were analyzed for total phospholipid,cholesterol,protein and alkaline phosphodiesterase I(PDE).RESULTS:No significant changes were observed in the total phospholipid,cholesterol and protein contents of the gradient fractions obtained from the microsomal ***,the majority of the gradient fractions(ρ=1.05-1.07 g/mL andρ=1.95-1.23 g/mL)obtained from THDC-infused livers had significantly higher PDE activity compared to the control *** low density gradient fraction(ρ=1.05-1.07 g/mL)which was envisaged to contain the putative vesicle population isolated from THDC-perfused livers had relatively small amounts of phospholipids and protein when compared to the relevant control fractions;however,they displayed an increase in cholesterol and PDE *** phospholipids were also isolated by thin layer chromatography and subjected to fractionation by high performance liquid chromatography;however,no differences were observed in the pattern of the fatty acid composition of the phospholipids isolated from THDC and control perfused *** density gradient fractions(ρ=1.10-1.23 g/mL)displayed an increase in all the parameters measured from both control and THDCinfused ***:No significant c

Intelligently Tuned Wavelet Parameters for GPS/INS Error Estimation

This paper presents a new algorithm for de-noising global positioning system （GPS） and inertial navigation system （INS） data and estimates the INS error using wavelet multi-resolution analysis algorithm （WMRA）-based genetic algorithm （GA） with a well-designed structure appropriate for practical and real time implementations because of its very short training time and elevated accuracy. Different techniques have been implemented to de-noise and estimate the INS and GPS errors. Wavelet de-noising is one of the most exploited techniques that have been recently used to increase the precision and reliability of the integrated GPS/INS navigation system. To ameliorate the WMRA algorithm, GA was exploited to optimize the wavelet parameters so as to determine the best wavelet filter, thresholding selection rule （TSR）, and the optimum level of decomposition （LOD）. This results in increasing the robustness of the WMRA algorithm to estimate the INS error. The proposed intelligent technique has overcome the drawbacks of the tedious selection for WMRA algorithm parameters. Finally, the proposed method improved the stability and reliability of the estimated INS error using real field test data.

Ensuring the possibility of using thorium as a fuel in a pressurized water reactor(PWR)

The possibility of utilizing thorium as a fuel in a pressurized water reactor(PWR)has been proven from the neutronic perspective in our previously published work without assessing the thermal hydraulic(TH)and solid structure ***,the TH and solid structure performances must be studied to confirm these results and ensure the possibility of using a thorium-based fuel as an excellent accident-tolerant *** TH and solid structure performances of thorium-based fuels were investigated and compared with those of UO_(2).The radial and axial power peaking factors(PPFs)for UO_(2),(^(232)Th,^(235)U)O_(2),and(^(232)Th,^(233)U)O_(2)were examined with a PWR assembly to determine the total PPF of each *** Gd_(2)O_(3)and Er_(2)O_(3)were tested as burnable absorbers(BAs)to manage the excess reactivity at the beginning of the fuel cycle(BOC)and reduce the total ***_(2)O_(3)resulted in a more significant reduction to the total PPF and,therefore,a greater reduction to the temperature distribution compared to Gd_(2)O_(3).Given these results,we analyzed the effects of adding Er_(2)O_(3)to thorium-based fuels on their TH and solid structure performances.

3D navigation within a 3D-GIS environment is increasingly getting more popular and spreading to various *** thelast decade,especially after the 9/11 disaster,evacuating the complex and tall buildings of today in case of emergencyhas been an important research area for *** of the current navigation systems are still in the 2D environmentand that is insufficient to visualize 3D objects and to obtain satisfactory solutions for the 3D ***,there is currently still a lack of implementation of 3D network analysis and navigation for indoor spaces in respect *** objective of this paper is to investigate and implement 3D visualization and navigation techniques andsolutions for indoor spaces within *** realizing this,we have proposed a GIS implementation that is capable ofcarrying out 3D visualization of a building model stored in the CityGML format and perform analysis on a networkmodel stored in Oracle *** proposed GUI also provides routing simulation on the calculated shortest paths withvoice commands and visual instructions.

Analysis and modeling of hysteresis of piezoelectric micro-actuator used in high precision dual-stage servo system

A dual-stage servo system consists of a primary coarse actuator for facilitating large motion and a secondary micro-actuator for small but precise motion to improve tracking performance. Piezoelectric micro-actuator made from lead zirconate titanate(PZT)has been a popular choice for the secondary stage. However, the advantage gained by the resolution of the secondary PZT actuator is reduced by its inherent hysteresis nonlinearity. Model based hysteresis compensation techniques are preferred due to their simplicity and fast response. Identification and modeling are two substantial parts in such model-based techniques. This paper presents a rigorous analysis and modeling of the hysteresis of PZT micro-actuator. Modified Generalized Prandtl-Ishlinskii and Coleman-Hodgdon models are studied. Identification of the model through nonlinear least square and particle swarm optimization are examined and compared. Several analyses are done through tuning of the model parameters and identification *** analysis and simulation results underscore the effectiveness of this modeling approach. Finally as a design example,a dual-stage simulation analysis is done to show the effectiveness of systematic modeling on hysteresis compensation.

In this paper we study a queueing system with state-dependent services and state-dependent vacations, or simply G/M（n）/1/K. Since the service rate is state-dependent, this system includes G/M/c and G/M/c/K queues with various types of station vacations as special cases. We provide a recursive algorithm using the supplementary variable technique to numerically compute the stationary queue length distribution of the system. The only input requirement is the Laplace-Stieltjes transform of the interarrival distribution as well as the state-dependent service rate and state-dependent vacation rate. In a subsequent companion paper, we study its dual system M（n）/G/1/K queue with statedependent vacations.

The stability of the flow under the magnetic force is a special problem in fluid *** investigation of flow of fluids in ducts,diffusers and also other parts of various machines in the existence of the magnetic field is important for many technological *** this thesis,the influence of magnetic force on the flow stability in rectangular duct,diffuser,and an airfoil has been studied and the energy gradient theory is used to provide the theoretical analysis of the stability of the magnetohydrodynamics(MHD)*** the first part of this thesis,the flow in a rectangular duct with different Hartmann(Ha)number is *** SIMPLE algorithm and the finite volume method are used to solve a system of equations and then the energy gradient theory is used to study the(associated)stability of MHD *** to the energy gradient theory,in pressure driven flow,K represents the ratio of energy gradient in the transverse direction and the energy loss due to viscosity in streamline *** with large value of K will lose its stability earlier than that with small value of *** flow stability of MHD flow for different Hartmann(Ha)number,from Ha=1 to 40,at the fixed Reynolds number,Re=190 are *** simulation is validated firstly against the simulation in *** results show that,with the increasing Ha number,the centerline velocity of the rectangular duct with MHD flow decreases and the absolute value of the gradient of total mechanical energy along the streamwise direction *** maximum of K appears near the wall in both the coordinate axis of the *** the energy gradient theory,this position of the maximum of K would initiate flow instability(if any)more than the other *** higher the Hartmann number is,the smaller the K value becomes,which means that the fluid becomes more stable in the presence of higher magnetic *** the Hartmann number increases,the K value in the parallel layer decreases more s
