Target-based anticancer indole derivatives and insight into structure-activity relationship:A mechanistic review update(2018—2021)

Cancer,which is the uncontrolled growth of cells,is the second leading cause of death after heart disease.Targeting drugs,especially to specific genes and proteins involved in growth and survival of cancer cells,is the prime need of research world-wide.Indole moiety,which is a combination of aromatic-heterocyclic compounds,is a constructive scaffold for the development of novel leads.Owing to its bioavailability,high unique chemical properties and significant pharmacological behaviours,indole is considered as the most inquisitive scaffold for anticancer drug research.This is illustrated by the fact that the U.S.Food and Drug Administration(FDA)has recently approved several indole-based anticancer agents such as panobinostat,alectinib,sunitinib,osimertinib,anlotinib and nintedanib for clinical use.Furthermore,hundreds of studies on the synthesis and activity of the indole ring have been published in the last three years.Taking into account the facts stated above,we have presented the most recent advances in medicinal chemistry of indole derivatives,encompassing hot articles published between 2018and 2021 in anticancer drug research.The recent advances made towards the synthesis of promising indole-based anticancer compounds that may act via various targets such as topoisomerase,tubulin,apoptosis,aromatase,kinases,etc.,have been discussed.This review also summarizes some of the recent efficient green chemical synthesis for indole rings using various catalysts for the period during 2018—2021.The review also covers the synthesis,structure-activity relationship,and mechanism by which these leads have demonstrated improved and promising anticancer activity.Indole molecules under clinical and preclinical stages are classified into groups based on their cancer targets and presented in tabular form,along with their mechanism of action.The goal of this review article is to point the way for medicinal chemists to design and develop effective indole-based anticancer agents.

In traditional digital twin communication system testing,we can apply test cases as completely as possible in order to ensure the correctness of the system implementation,and even then,there is no guarantee that the digital twin communication system implementation is completely correct.Formal verification is currently recognized as a method to ensure the correctness of software system for communication in digital twins because it uses rigorous mathematical methods to verify the correctness of systems for communication in digital twins and can effectively help system designers determine whether the system is designed and implemented correctly.In this paper,we use the interactive theorem proving tool Isabelle/HOL to construct the formal model of the X86 architecture,and to model the related assembly instructions.The verification result shows that the system states obtained after the operations of relevant assembly instructions is consistent with the expected states,indicating that the system meets the design expectations.

The widespread adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed various sectors globally, making themmore intelligent and connected. However, this advancement comes with challenges related to the effectiveness ofIoT devices. These devices, present in offices, homes, industries, and more, need constant monitoring to ensuretheir proper functionality. The success of smart systems relies on their seamless operation and ability to handlefaults. Sensors, crucial components of these systems, gather data and contribute to their functionality. Therefore,sensor faults can compromise the system’s reliability and undermine the trustworthiness of smart environments.To address these concerns, various techniques and algorithms can be employed to enhance the performance ofIoT devices through effective fault detection. This paper conducted a thorough review of the existing literature andconducted a detailed analysis.This analysis effectively links sensor errors with a prominent fault detection techniquecapable of addressing them. This study is innovative because it paves theway for future researchers to explore errorsthat have not yet been tackled by existing fault detection methods. Significant, the paper, also highlights essentialfactors for selecting and adopting fault detection techniques, as well as the characteristics of datasets and theircorresponding recommended techniques. Additionally, the paper presents amethodical overview of fault detectiontechniques employed in smart devices, including themetrics used for evaluation. Furthermore, the paper examinesthe body of academic work related to sensor faults and fault detection techniques within the domain. This reflectsthe growing inclination and scholarly attention of researchers and academicians toward strategies for fault detectionwithin the realm of the Internet of Things.

Recent progress in carbonaceous materials based Z-scheme and Sscheme heterojunctions for photocatalytic clean energy generation

Carbonaceous materials including carbon nanotubes/nanofibers, graphene, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide,graphyne, graphdiyne, carbon quantum dots and fullerenes have gained considerable attention in the recent years for their unique properties such as high conductivity, excellent stability and biocompatibility. The integration of these carbonaceous materials into Zscheme and S-scheme heterojunctions has emerged as a transformative strategy to enhance the photocatalytic efficiency for energy conversion applications. This review delves into the fundamental principles of clean energy generation such as photocatalytic H2generation and CO2reduction, elucidating their respective mechanisms and advantages. Furthermore, various types of carbonaceous materials, their synthesis and construction of Z-scheme and S-scheme heterojunctions are discussed emphasizing their role in promoting charge separation, reducing recombination losses and extending the spectral response range. With the focus on solar fuel production,the recent advancements in carbonaceous based Z-scheme and S-scheme heterojunctions are discussed and summarized for photocatalytic H2generation and CO2reduction. Lastly, the current bottlenecks and challenges in the field of carbonaceous based photocatalysts are discussed with the valuable insights for future development in this particular field.

Plastic waste management for sustainable environment:techniques and approaches

Excessive exploitation,negligence,non-degradable nature,and physical and chemical properties of plastic waste have resulted in a massive pollution load into the environment.Consequently,plastic entres the food chain and can cause serious health issues in aquatic animals and humans.The present review summarizes currently reported techniques and approaches for the removal of plastic waste.Many techniques,such as adsorption,coagulation,photocatalysis,and microbial degradation,and approaches like reduction,reuse and recycling are potentially in trend and differ from each other in their efficiency and interaction mechanism.Moreover,substantial advantages and challenges associated with these techniques and approaches are highlighted to develop an understanding of the selection of possible ways for a sustainable future.Nevertheless,in addition to the reduction of plastic waste from the ecosystem,many alternative opportunities have also been explored to cash plastic waste.These fields include the synthesis of adsorbents for the removal of pollutants from aqueous and gaseous stream,their utility in clothing,waste to energy and fuel and in construction(road making).Substantial evidence can be observed in the reduction of plastic pollution from various ecosystems.In addition,it is important to develop an understanding of factors that need to be emphasized while considering alternative approaches and opportunities to cash plastic waste(like adsorbent,clothing,waste to energy and fuel).The thrust of this review is to provide readers with a comprehensive overview of the development status of techniques and approaches to overcome the global issue of plastic pollution and the outlook on the exploitation of this waste as resources.

Safety of removal of ProSeal laryngeal mask airway in children in the supine versus lateral position in a deep plane of anesthesia:A randomized controlled trial

Importance:When a ProSeal laryngeal mask airway(PLMA)is removed with the child in a deep plane of anesthesia,the upper airway muscle tone and protective upper airway reflexes may be obtunded.Objective:To determine whether the supine or lateral position is safer for the removal of a PLMA in deeply anesthetized children by comparing the incidence of upper airway complications.Methods:This randomized single-blind comparative trial was conducted at a tertiary care hospital between January 2020 and September 2020.Forty children of the American Society of Anesthesiologists class I/II of ages 1–12 years age undergoing surgery under general anesthesia with PLMA used as the definitive airway device were recruited.Patients were randomly allocated to lateral group or supine group for PLMA removal in a deep plane of anesthesia in the lateral or supine position.The primary outcome was the number of patients experiencing one or more upper airway complications and the secondary outcomes were incidence of individual respiratory adverse effects and of severe airway complications.Results:The incidence of airway complications was 30%in the supine group and 20%in the lateral group(P=0.6641).Incidence of laryngospasm,immediate stridor,and excessive secretions were similar.Early stridor and oxygen desaturation were higher in the supine group(P=0.0374,P=0.0183 respectively).Interpretation:The overall incidence of upper airway complications was similar with the removal of a PLMA in the supine or lateral position in deeply anesthetized children.The incidence of oxygen desaturation and stridor were higher with PLMA removal in the supine as compared to the lateral position.

Abundant analytical soliton solutions and different wave profiles to the Kudryashov-Sinelshchikov equation in mathematical physics

The generalized exponential rational function(GERF)method is used in this work to obtain analytic wave solutions to the Kudryashov-Sinelshchikov(K S)equation.The K S equation depicts the occurrence of pressure waves in mixtures of liquid-gas bubbles while accounting for thermal expansion and viscosity.By applying the GERF method to the KS equation,we obtain analytic solutions in terms of trigonometric,hyperbolic,and exponential functions,among others.These solutions include solitary wave solutions,dark-bright soliton solutions,singular soliton solutions,singular bell-shaped solutions,traveling wave solutions,rational form solutions,and periodic wave solutions.We discuss the two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphics of some obtained solutions under the accurate range space by selecting appropriate values for the involved arbitrary parameters to make this research more praiseworthy.The obtained analytic wave solutions specify the GERF method’s dependability,capability,trustworthiness,and efficiency.

An Enhanced Equilibrium Optimizer for Solving Optimization Tasks

The equilibrium optimizer(EO)represents a new,physics-inspired metaheuristic optimization approach that draws inspiration from the principles governing the control of volume-based mixing to achieve dynamic mass equilibrium.Despite its innovative foundation,the EO exhibits certain limitations,including imbalances between exploration and exploitation,the tendency to local optima,and the susceptibility to loss of population diversity.To alleviate these drawbacks,this paper introduces an improved EO that adopts three strategies:adaptive inertia weight,Cauchy mutation,and adaptive sine cosine mechanism,called SCEO.Firstly,a new update formula is conceived by incorporating an adaptive inertia weight to reach an appropriate balance between exploration and exploitation.Next,an adaptive sine cosine mechanism is embedded to boost the global exploratory capacity.Finally,the Cauchy mutation is utilized to prevent the loss of population diversity during searching.To validate the efficacy of the proposed SCEO,a comprehensive evaluation is conducted on 15 classical benchmark functions and the CEC2017 test suite.The outcomes are subsequently benchmarked against both the conventional EO,its variants,and other cutting-edge metaheuristic techniques.The comparisons reveal that the SCEO method provides significantly superior results against the standard EO and other competitors.In addition,the developed SCEO is implemented to deal with a mobile robot path planning(MRPP)task,and compared to some classical metaheuristic approaches.The analysis results demonstrate that the SCEO approach provides the best performance and is a prospective tool for MRPP.
