An environmentally friendly method using real or artificial bovine milk permeate to both depilate and preserve s.e.pskins has been reported which completely and cleanly removed the wool from the hair follicle and had no detrimental effects on the skin.A proteomic analysis,as.e.sing the relative abundance of proteins in matched permeate-depilated and chemically depilated(sulfide)s.e.pskins,showed variations in the levels of s.e.ific collagen types in the skin's basement membrane and other proteins associated with the *** findings were corroborated by biochemical analyses of matched permeate depilated and raw skin samples,and provide clues to the mechanism of non-invasiveand complete *** also support the observation that permeate-depilated skins were smoother than their sulfide-depilated counterparts and resulted in leather with a superior surface.

Avian responses to an extreme weather event:The case of the‘Filomena’snowstorm in Madrid(central spain)

Cold s.e.ls and severe weather may have detrimental effects in wild birds,but owing to the stochastic nature of these events,it is not always possible to measure their *** January 2021,a strong snowstorm known as‘Filomena’affected spain,mainly the region of Madrid(Central spain),which was fully covered with snow and suffered freezing temperatures for a *** bird surveys conducted in the winter-spring of 2020 and 2021(before and after Filomena)at same locations,we addres.e. the possible impact of the cold s.e.l in three widespread gamebirds:Wood Pigeon(Columba palumbus),eurasian Magpie(Pica pica)and Red-legged Partridge(Alectoris rufa).No significant abundance differences were found between years for none of the s.e.ies and hunting pressure was only significantly reduced for Partridges,hence this s.e.ies may have been negatively affected by *** suggest that in response to Filomena,Pigeons conducted partial migration in search of better conditions,while Magpies aggregated in certain areas of Madrid and Partridges.e.dured the harsh conditions within their home *** results highlight the importance to alleviate negative impacts of extreme weather events in wild birds through management actions.e.pecially for sedentary s.e.ies.

Governance in the exploration of global and regional determinants of ICT development

The present study as.e.ses how governance affects information and communication technology(IcT)at the global level contingent on macroeconomic policy factors such as trade,foreign direct investment(FDI),manufacturing value added,and agricultural value *** study focuses on 183 countries from 2003 to 2021,and the empirical evidence is based on the generalized method of moments(GMM).The following main findings are *** the full sample,governance unconditionally promotes ICT development,while trade openness(industrial added value)moderates governance to promote(dampen)ICT *** sub-saharan Africa,only trade openness.e.fectively moderates governance to induce an overall positive effect on ICT,while in the Middle east and North Africa(MeNA)region,all policy variables moderate governance for an overall positive incidence on ICT sector *** findings for the MeNA region are confirmed in the europe and Central Asia(eCA)region,with the exception of the moderating role of industrial added value,which engenders an overall negative *** the east and south Asia and the Pacific(esAP)countries,one overall positive incidence is apparent in the role of trade openness,while net negative effects are establis.e. from the moderating roles of industrial added value and agricultural added *** the American sub-sample,a positive(negative)net effect is apparent from the role of industrial added value(trade)in moderating the incidence of gover-nance on ICT sector ***,policy implications are discus.e..

since the COVID-19 pandemic was first reported in 2019,it has rapidly spread around the *** countries implemented several measures to try to control the virus *** healthcare sys.e. and consequently the general quality of life population in the cities have all been significantly impacted by the Coronavirus *** different waves of contagious were responsible for the increase in the number of cases that,unfortunately,many times lead to *** this paper,we aim to characterize the dynamics of the six waves of cases and deaths caused by COVID-19 in Rio de Janeiro city using techniques such as the Poincaréplot,approximate entropy,second-order difference plot,and central tendency *** results reveal that by examining the structure and patterns of the time series,using a set of non-linear techniques we can gain a better understanding of the role of multiple waves of COVID-19,also,we can identify underlying dynamics of disease spreading and extract meaningful information about the dynamical behavior of epidemiological time *** findings can help to closely approximate the dynamics of virus spread and obtain a correlation between the different stages of the disease,allowing us to identify and categorize the stages due to different virus variants that are reflected in the time series.

Biomimetic amelioration of zirconium nanoparticles on a rigid substrate over viscous slime--a physiological approach

In this article,an investigation is conducted to study the precise role of zirconium nanoparticles that exist in a slime-like fluid subject to s.e.ific *** gliding is a technique of mobility used by bacteria that lack motility components,bacteria travel on their own strength in gliding locomotion by secreting a layer of slime on the substrate.A model of an undulating s.e.t over a layer of slime of a Rabinowitsch fluid is investigated as a potential model of bacteria’s gliding *** the aid of long wavelength approximation,the equations governing the circulation of slime underneath the cells are establis.e. and analytically *** effects of pseudoplasticity,dilatation and non-Newtonian parameter on the behavior of zirconium concentration,s.e.d of microorganism(bacteria),streamline patterns,and pressure rise for non-Newtonian and Newtonian fluids are *** power required for propulsion is also *** interpretation for the pertinent variables has been graphically discus.e. against the parameters under *** is found that with the increase in the concentration of zirconium nanoparticles,the bacterial flow is accelerated and attains its maximum near the rigid substrate wall while an opposite behavior is noticed in the rest region.

enhancing high-temperature oxidation resistance(at 1000 °C) of nickel superalloy obtained by laser powder bed fusion via reactive electric spark treatment

The high-temperature oxidation resistance of the nickel superalloy grown by the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) has been significantly increased as a result of in-situ formation of a thermal barrier layer (α-Al2O3+ CaMoO4) during oxidative annealing of surface layers modified by electric spark treatment (esT). The reactive esT of the LPBF-built items based on nickel eP741NP alloy was carried out with low-melting Al-12%si， Al-6%Ca-0.6%si and Al-7%Ca-1%Mn electrodes. It was found that at esT done by Al-7%Ca-1%Mn electrode an intermetallic (β-NiAl + γ’-Ni3Al) 15 microns thick layer reinforced by spherical oxide (CaMe)O nanoparticles was formed. Formation of that structure increases the wear resistance of LPBF nickel superalloy by 4.5 times. Further oxidative annealing at 1000 °C lead to a formation of continuous two-layered coating with an inner layer of α-Al2O3and an outer layer of CaMoO4， which together act as an effective barrier preventing the diffusion of oxygen into the volume of the superalloy.

In this study,a calcium-phosphate coating was formed on a Mg-Mn-Ce alloy by the plasma electrolytic oxidation(PeO).The antibiotic vancomycin,widely used in the treatment of infections caused by staphylococcus aureus(***),was impregnated into the *** with vancomycin showed high bactericidal activity against *** mechanical and electrochemical properties of the formed coatings were studied,as well as in vitro cytotoxicity tests and in vivo tests on mature male rats were *** to seM,eDs,XRD and XPs data,coatings had a developed morphology and contained hydroxyapatite,which indicates high *** analysis of roughness of coatings without and with vancomycin did not reveal any differences,confirming the high roughness of the *** electrochemical tests,an increase in corrosion resistance by more than two times after the application of PeO coatings was *** to the results of an in vivo study,after 28 days of the implantation of samples with calcium phosphate PeO coating and vancomycin,no signs of inflammation were observed,while an inflammatory reaction developed in the area of implantation of bare alloy,followed by *** release tests from the coatings show a sharp decrease in the concentration of the released antibiotic on day 7 and then a gradual decrease until day *** the experiment,no significant deviations in the condition and behavior of the animals were observed;clinical tests did not reveal a sys.e.ic toxic reaction.
