There is an increasing interest in developing nanoparticles with diverse biologic *** this end,we prepared 10 to 15 nm silver nanoparticles(AgNP)from native isolates of Trichoderma *** this study,endophytic fungi hosted four medicinal plants in saint Katherine Protectorate,south sinai,Egypt have been isolated by surface sterilization technique on four isolation *** species,based on their frequency of occurrence,out of twenty recovered taxa were tested for their capability to synthesize extracellular *** atroviride hosted Chiliadenus montanus was found to be the best candidate for the production of mycogenic AgNPs among all examined *** mycosynthesized AgNPs were compared with chemically synthesized and characterized using Ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD)and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM)*** HRTEM result showed the distribution of spherical AgNPs ranging from 10 to 15 *** atroviride isolate was subjected to sequencing for confirmation of phenotypic *** internal transcribed spacer(ITs)1-5.8 s-ITs2 rDNA sequences obtained were compared with those deposited in the GenBank Database and registered with accession number MH283876 in the NCBI ***,anticandidal and antifungal effects of chemically and mycosynthesized AgNPs were examined at various concentrations in vitro against six pathogenic bacteria and 4 pathogenic fungi by agar well diffusion *** antibiotics;Gentamicin,Amoxicillin,Clotrimazole,and Nystatin at 5μg/disk were taken as positive controls,while 5%DMsO was used as the negative *** data revealed that the application of mycogenic AgNPs at a concentration of 100 ppm resulted in maximum inhibition of pathogenic bacteria and *** data suggest that AgNPs from native isolates of Trichoderma atroviride(MH283876)offer a source of rapid synthesis of eco-friendly,e

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the commonest primary malignancy of the liver. It usually occurs in the setting of chronic liver disease and has a poor prognosis if untreated. Orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) is a suitable therapeutic option for early,unresectable HCC particularly in the setting of chronic liver disease. Following on from disappointing initial results,the seminal study by Mazzaferro et al in 1996 established OLT as a viable treatment for HCC. In this study,the "Milan criteria" were applied achieving a 4-year survival rate similar to OLT for benign disease. since then various groups have attempted to expand these criteria whilst maintaining long term survival rates. The technique of living donor liver transplantation has evolved over the past decade,particularly in Asia,and published outcome data is comparable to that of OLT. This article will review the evidence,indications,and the future direction of liver transplantation for liver cancer.

Comparison of visual analogue scale (VAs) and the Nasal Obstruction symptom Evaluation (NOsE) score in evaluation of post septoplasty patients

Objective:To compare and correlate the efficacy of the NOsE score&the VAs score in determining the symptomatic benefit in patients undergoing *** and methods:Eighty patients with deviated nasal septum undergoing septoplasty were included in the *** score&VAs score(out of 100)was documented before and after *** were correlated and compared ***:In the NOsE score,the most bothersome symptom was trouble breathing through the nose(85.83);followed by Nasal obstruction or blockage(82.50).Wilcoxon test showed significant improvement with NOsE score and VAs score in all patients at 1 month and 3 ***’s coefficient showed a positive correlation between the two,though the score improvement and patient satisfaction rate was significantly high with NOsE ***:NOsE score and the VAs score both provide effective framework for evaluating treatment responses after ***,the NOsE score showed higher improvement and better patient satisfaction rate when used to measure of nasal obstruction as compared to the VAs score.

Can Natural Farming Help to Combat Climate Variability? A Comparison of Natural and Chemical Farming in Andhra Pradesh, India

A study was conducted to compare the potential of natural farming versus conventional chemical farming to withstand adverse climate effects. The study investigated two cyclones, namely cyclone Pethai and cyclone Titli of 2018, which caused significant damage to Andhra Pradesh’s coastal corridor. In addition, the impact of heavy rainfall in 2021 on two different farming systems was studied. The worst-affected Paddy crop regions where these cyclones caused severe damage were surveyed. Multiple linear regression was utilized to investigate predictors including crop damage, wind damage, submergence, and yield loss in these two agricultural systems during these two cyclonic and heavy rainfall events. The study indicated that natural farming practices were more resilient to climate variability than conventional chemical farming techniques. The study showed a statistically significant difference (p se two farming systems in terms of damage caused due to climate variabilities.

采用K_2TiF_6无机盐和siC陶瓷颗粒与铝熔体原位反应制备不同含量TiC颗粒(0,2.5%,5%,质量分数)增强AA6061铝合金。为分解siC释放碳原子,合金在高温下进行铸造,并保温一段时间。X射线衍射分析表明铝基复合材料中只生成TiC颗粒而未见其他金属间化合物。采用场发射扫描电子显微镜(FEsEM)和背散射电子衍射(EBsD)分析AA6061/TiC复合材料的显微组织。结果表明原位生成的TiC颗粒分布均匀,界面清晰,结合良好,并具有立方、球形和六方等形状。EBsD图像表明TiC颗粒对复合材料具有明显的晶粒细化效果。TiC颗粒可提高铝基复合材料的显微硬度和抗拉强度。

AIM:To study the role of hepcidin in hereditary hyperferritinemia cataract syndrome(HHCs). METHODs:six patients from two families with HHCs, confirmed by genetic analysis showing A to G mutation at position+40 in the L-ferritin gene,were recruited to undergo serum hepcidin and prohepcidin measurements using radioimmunoassay and enzyme linked immunoassay,respectively,and measurements were compared with levels in serum from 25 healthy volunteers(14 females),mean age 36±11.9 ***:The serum hepcidin and prohepcidin levels in patients with HHCs were 19.1±18.6 and 187± 120.9 ng/mL,*** ferritin was 1716.3± 376μg/*** biopsy in one patient did not show any evidence of iron *** hepcidin and prohepcidin values in healthy controls(HCs)were 15.30±15.71 and 236.88±83.68 ng/mL,respectively,while serum ferritin was 110±128.08μg/*** was no statistical difference in serum hepcidin level between the two cohorts(19.1±18.6 ng/mL vs 15.30±15.71 ng/mL,P= 0.612)using two-tailed t-test. CONCLUsION:serum hepcidin levels in HHCs patients is similar to that in *** study suggests that circulating ferritin is not a factor influencing hepcidin synthesis and does not have a role in the iron-sensing mechanism in hepatocytes.

Genomic analysis has emphasized the enormous genetic contribution to autism spectrum disorders, with over 80% of patients having changes demonstrable by high resolution chromosome (microarray) analysis or whole exome sequencing. An overview of these genetic changes demonstrates the expected role of synaptic transmission in autism and, together with clinical observations, emphasizes the importance of visual input on developing sensory systems and social responses. Neonatal recognition of autism predisposition through genetic analysis could allow sensory stimulation therapies during periods of neuroplasticity, an approach analogous to strabismus correction before the cortical dissociation of the deviant eye.

β-Nickel hydroxide cathode material for nano-suspension redox flow batteries

As part of an effort to build a prototype flow battery system using a nano-suspension containing β-Ni（OH）2 nanoparticles as the cathode material, nano-sized β-Ni（OH）2 particles with well-controlled particle size and morphology were synthesized via the one-step precipitation of a NiCl2 precursor. The composition and morphology of the nanoparticles were characterized by scanning electronic microscopy （sEM） and X-ray diffraction （XRD）. The XRD patterns confirmed that β-Ni（OH）2 was successfully synthesized, while sEM results showed that the particle sizes range from 70 to 150 nm. To ensure that Ni（OH）2 could be employed in the nano-suspension flow battery, the electrochemical performance of the synthesized 13-Ni（OH）2 was initially tested in pouch cells through charge/discharge cycling. The phase transformations occurring during charge/discharge were investigated using in-situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy to obtain the shift in the oxidation state of Ni （X-ray adsorption near edge structure, XANEs） and the distances between Ni and surrounding atoms in charged and discharged states （extended X-ray absorption fine structure, EXAFs）. XANEs results indicated that the electrode in the discharged state was a mixture of phases because the edge position did not shift back completely. XAFs results further proved that the discharge capacity was provided by β-NiOOH and the ratio between β-Ni（OH）2 and γ-NiOOH in the electrode in the discharged state was 71：29. Preliminary nano-suspension tests in a lab-scale cell were conducted to understand the behavior of the nano-suspension during charge/discharge cycling and to optimize the operating conditions.
