Leptosph.eriaceae is a family in th. order Pleosporales comprising economically important plant *** may also be endoph.tes or saprobes on various h.st *** recent classifications Alternariaster,Leptosph.eria,Neoph.eosph.eria,Paraleptosph.eria,h.terospora,Subplenodomus and Plenodomus were included in th. *** taxonomy of genera and species in Leptosph.eriaceae h.s been problematic due to th. lack of understanding of th. importance of morph.logical ch.racters used to distinguish.taxa,as well as th. lack of reference *** order to establish.evolutionary relationsh.ps and to provide a backbone tree for Leptosph.eria and allied genera,we sequenced th. 18S nrDNA,28S nrDNA,ITS,RPB2,TEF and ACT gene regions of Leptosph.eriaceae species and analysed th.s ***-locus ph.logenies togeth.r with.morph.logy robustly support th. monoph.letic nature of Leptosph.eriaceae among th. oth.r families in Pleosporales,and th. inclusion of th. genera Alternariaster,h.terospora,Leptosph.eria,Paraleptosph.eria,Sph.erellopsis,Subplenodomus,Plenodomus and th.ee novel genera Alloleptosph.eria,Neoleptosph.eria and *** new species,Alternariaster centaureae-diffusae,Leptosph.eria cich.rium,Paraleptosph.eria rubi,Plenodomus guttulatus and *** are *** account of sexual morph.of Alternariaster centaureae-diffusae is provided,and th. sexual morph.of Leptosph.eria doliolum is re-described and illustrated using modern concepts from fresh.collections.A novel family Neoph.eosph.eriaceae is establish.d to accommodate th. genus Neoph.eosph.eria and its species.

Th. cosmopolitan plant genus Clematis contains many climbing species th.t can be found *** genus occurs in th. wild and is grown commercially for *** on Clematis were collected from Belgium,Ch.na,Italy,Th.iland and th. *** are ch.racterized by morph.logy and analyses of gene sequence data using an integrated species concept to validate *** study revealed two new families,12 new genera,50 new species,26 new h.st records with.one dimorph.c ch.racter report,and ten species are transferred to oth.r *** new families revealed by multigene ph.logeny are Longiostiolaceae and Pseudomassarinaceae in Pleosporales(Doth.deomycetes).New genera are Anth.didymella(Didymellaceae),Anth.sulcatispora and Parasulcatispora(Sulcatisporaceae),Fusiformispora(Amniculicolaceae),Longispora(Ph.eosph.eriaceae),Neobyssosph.eria(Melanommataceae),Neoleptosporella(Ch.etosph.eriales,genera incertae sedis),Neostictis(Stictidaceae),Pseudoh.lminth.sporium(Neomassarinaceae),Pseudomassarina(Pseudomassarinaceae),Sclerench.momyces(Leptosph.eriaceae)and Xenoplectosph.erella(Plectosph.erellaceae).Th. newly described species are Alloleptosph.eria clematidis,Anth.didymella ranunculacearum,Anth.sulcatispora subglobosa,Aquadictyospora clematidis,Brunneofusispora clematidis,Ch.etosph.eronema clematidicola,***,Ch.omolaenicola clematidis,Diaporth. clematidina,Dictyoch.irospora clematidis,Distoseptispora clematidis,Floricola clematidis,Fusiformispora clematidis,h.rmatomyces clematidis,Leptospora clematidis,Longispora clematidis,Massariosph.eria clematidis,Melomastia clematidis,***,Neobyssosph.eria clematidis,Neoleptosporella clematidis,Neoroussoella clematidis,***,Neostictis nigricans,Neovaginatispora clematidis,Parasulcatispora clematidis,Parath.ridaria clematidis,***,***,Periconia verrucose,Ph.matospora uniseriata,Pleopunctum clematidis,Pseudocapulatispora clematidis,Pseudocoleoph.ma clematidis,Pseudoh.lminth.s

Th. previous ph.logenies of Sordariomycetes by ***,*** and ***,and *** and ***,were mainly based on morph.logy and th.s were somewh.t *** outlines by *** and ***,and Mah.rach.h.kumbura and co-auth.rs,took into account ph.logenetic ***,even th.se ph.logenetic driven arrangements for Sordariomycetes,were somewh.t subjective,as th. arrangements in trees depended on many variables,such.as number of taxa,different gene regions and meth.ds used in th. *** is needed is extra evidence to h.lp standardize ranking in th. *** of divergence times using molecular clock meth.ds h.s been proposed for providing additional rational for h.gh.r ranking of ***,in Sordariomycetes,a divergence period(i.e.200–300 MyA)can be used as criteria to judge wh.n a group of related taxa evolved and wh.t rank th.y sh.uld be *** th.s paper,we provide an updated classification of accepted subclasses,orders of Sordariomycetes and use divergence times to provide additional evidence to stabilize ranking of taxa in th. *** point out and discuss discrepancies wh.re th. ph.logenetic tree conflicts with.th. molecular clock.
