The crystalline terrane of the Tongbai-Dabie region,centralChina,comprising the Earth’s largest ultrahigh-pressure(UHP) exposure was formed during Triassic collision between the Sino-Korean andYangtze *** apatite fission-track(AFT) data presented here from the UHP terrane,extends over a significantly greater area than reported in previous studies,and includes the(eastern) Dabie,the Hong’an(northwestern Dabie) and Tongbai *** new data yield ages ranging from44±3 to 142±36Ma and mean track lengths between□10 and 14.4μ.*** history models based on the AFT data taken together with published 40Ar/39Ar,K -Ar,apatite and zircon(U-Th)/He and U-Pb data,exhibit a three-stage cooling pattern that is similar across the study region,commencing with an Early Cretaceous rapid cooling event, followed by a period of relative thermal stability during which rocks remained at temperatures within the AFT partial annealing zone(□60-110℃) and ending with a possible renewed phase of accelerated cooling during Pliocene to Recent *** first cooling phase followed large-scale transtensional deformation between□140 and 110 Ma and is related to Early Cretaceous eastward tectonic escape and Pacific back arc *** this phase and the subsequent slow cooling phase,a transition period from□120 to 80Ma(to□70 to 45Ma along the Tan-Lu fault) was characterised by a relatively low cooling rate(□3-5℃/Ma).This transition is likely related to a tectonic response associated with the mid-Cretaceous subduction of the IzanagiPacific plate aswell as lithospheric extension and thinning in eastern *** present regional AFTage pattern is therefore basically controlled by the Early Cretaceous rapid cooling event,but finally shaped through active Cenozoic *** the transition phase the subsequent slow cooling phase pattern implies a net reduction in horizontal compressional stress corresponding to increased extensionrates along the continental margin due to the de

Cretaceous and Cenozoic reactivation of the Triassic Qinling-Dabie orogen between the north China and Yangtze cratons resulted from the combined effects of Pacific subduction-back-arc extension in east China and collisions in west *** report new apatite fission track and apatite and zircon(U-Th)/He data from east Qinling along a >400-km-long N-S transect from Huashan through the Qinling orogen to *** ages show a general pattern of younging *** major cooling phases are defined by modeling the multiple thermochronologic data *** first phase occurred locally in the North and South Qinling during the late Triassic to early Jurassic,following heating associated with the Triassic Yangtze subduction and exhumation of the Wudang metamorphic core complex on the cratonal edge.A second phase represents regional exhumation between 100 and 60 Ma,coeval with rifting marked by the Late Cretaceous-Eocene(K2-E) red bed deposition in eastern China and possibly indicating a link with Pacific subduction-back-arc extension in eastern China;however,it may also have been superimposed by eastward tectonic escape resulting from the Lhasa-West Burma-Qiangtang-Indochina *** third cooling phase was initiated at 5 Ma exclusively in the north Qinling and in the footwall of the graben-bounding normal fault of the Weihe graben in the Lesser *** suggest the third phase was related to reactivation of the Qinling fault system as a result of eastward tectonic escape imposed by the India-Asia collision at 0 Ma.

Recent Growth of Wettability Gradient Surfaces: A Review

This review reports the recent progress and future prospects of wettability gradient surfaces (WGSs), particularly focusing on the governing principles, fabrication methods, classification, characterization, and applications. While transforming the inherent wettability into artificial wettability via bioinspiration, topographic micro/nanostructures are produced with changed surface energy, resulting in new droplet wetting regimes and droplet dynamic regimes. WGSs have been mainly classified in dry and wet surfaces, depending on the apparent surface states. Wettability gradient has long been documented as a surface phenomenon inducing the droplet mobility in the direction of decreasing wettability. However, it is herein critically emphasized that the wettability gradient does not always result in droplet mobility. Indeed, the sticky and slippery dynamic regimes exist in WGSs, prohibiting or allowing the droplet mobility, respectively. Lastly, the stringent bottlenecks encountered by WGSs are highlighted along with solution-oriented recommendations, and furthermore, phase change materials are strongly anticipated as a new class in WGSs. In all, WGSs intend to open up new technological insights for applications, encompassing water harvesting, droplet and bubble manipulation, controllable microfluidic systems, and condensation heat transfer, among others.

Low Impedance Fault Identification and Classification Based on Boltzmann Machine Learning for HVDC Transmission Systems

Identification and classification of DC faults are considered as fundamentals of DC grid protection.A sudden rise of DC fault current must be identified and classified to immediately operate the corresponding interrupting *** this paper,the Boltzmann machine learning(BML)approach is proposed for identification and classification of DC faults using travelling waves generated at fault point in voltage source converter based high-voltage direct current(VSC-HVDC)transmission *** unsupervised way of feature extraction is performed on the frequency spectrum of the travelling *** class logistic regression(BCLR)classifies the HVDC transmission system into faulty and healthy *** proposed technique reduces the time for fault identification and classification because of reduced tagged data with few ***,the faults near or at converter stations are readily identified and *** performance of the proposed technique is assessed via simulations developed in MATLAB/Simulink and tested for pre-fault and post-fault data both at VSC1 and VSC2,***,the proposed technique is supported by analyzing the root mean square error to show practicality and realization with reduced computations.

The design of evolutionary approaches has a vital role in the recent development of scientific *** tackle highly nonlinear complex problems,nonlinear ordinary differential equations,partial differential equations,stochastic differential equations,and many more may called computational *** rotavirus causes may include severe diarrhea,vomiting,and fever leading to rapid *** the report of the World Health Organization(WHO),approximately 600,000 children die worldwide each year,80 percent of whom live in developing *** million children are hospitalized each *** Asia,up to 45 percent of the children hospitalized for diarrhea may be infected with *** rotavirus model is categorized into five-compartment like susceptible(S),breastfeeding(M),vaccinated(V),infected(I),and recovered children(R).Positivity,boundedness,equilibria,reproduction number,and stability results are part of the qualitative analysis of the *** that,the design of the evolutionary approaches on the model predicts the efficiency,visualization,long-term behavior of the disease,and best results of the rotavirus *** the end,evolutionary computations are an appropriate tool for double-checking the qualitative examination of the model.

Current study examines the combined effect of thermal radiation and velocity slip along a convective heated stretching ***(MHD)effect near the stagnation point is also under *** main structure of partial differential equations attained in the form of momentum,energy and concentration *** a self-similar solution,the system of governing PDEs assimilated into the set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations by applying suitable similarity *** nonlinear ODEs are successfully solved via Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg *** obtained unknown functions are discussed in detail after plotting the numerical results against different arising physical *** validations of numerical results have been taken into account with two different numerical approaches and it is found to be in excellent agreement with the numerical *** study reveals that concentration boundary layer thickness decreases by increasing the values of Schmidt number and increases by increasing the chemical reaction parameter.

Comparative analysis of single-crater parameters in ultrasonic-assisted and unassisted micro-EDM of Ti6Al4V using discharge plasma imaging

Dipole and Combo Optical Solitons in Birefringent Fibers in the Presence of Four-Wave Mixing

The ultimate theme of this study is to develop dipole and combo optical solitons in birefringent fibers(BF) along with the effect of four-wave mixing(4 WM). Two types of rough mediums are used which are Kerr law and parabolic law. Ansatz method of Choudhuri is applied to obtain dark in the bright(dipole) soliton solutions providing bright background for the propagation of optical dark pulse. Ansatz method of Li is applied to obtain combo soliton solutions providing bright solitary wave and dark solitary wave solutions. These results also exist to hold in non-Kerr media with higher order dispersion.

A new study and modeling of COVID-19 disease through fractional models:A comparative paradigm

In this research,novel epidemic models based on fractional calculus are developed by utilizing the Caputo and Atangana-Baleanu(AB)*** models integrate vaccination effects,additional safety measures,home and hospital isolation,and treatment *** models are particularly significant as they provide a more comprehensive understanding of epidemic diseases and can account for non-locality and memory *** points of the model are calculated,including the disease-free and endemic equilibrium points,and the basic reproduction number R0 is computed using the next-generation matrix *** indicate that the epidemic becomes endemic when R0 is greater than unity,and it goes extinct when it is less than *** positiveness and boundedness of the solutions of model are *** Routh-Hurwitz technique is utilized to analyze the local stability of equilibrium *** Lyapunov function and the LaSalle’s principle are used to demonstrate the global stability of equilibrium *** schemes are proposed,and their validity is established by comparing them to the fourth-order Runge-Kutta(RK4)*** simulations are performed using the Adams-Bashforth-Moulton predictor-corrector algorithm for the Caputo time-fractional derivative and the Toufik-Atangana numerical technique for the AB time-fractional *** study looks at how the quarantine policy affected different human population *** the basis of these findings,a strict quarantine policy voluntarily implemented by an informed human population can help reduce the pandemic’s ***,vaccination efforts become a crucial tool in the fight against *** can greatly lower the number of susceptible people and develop a shield of immunity in the population by guaranteeing common access to vaccinations and boosting vaccination ***,the graphical representations of the fractional models are also developed.

Flow and passive scalar transfer characteristics around a row of interacting tandem cylinders

Transfer and transport of a passive scalar as well as flow structures of unbounded flow over a row of 2,3,4 and 5 equispaced identical cylinders at Re=90 and pitch ratios 1.05D≤S≤7D are *** are performed through high fidelity simulations using a novel sharp-interface immersed boundary *** flow regimes are identified based on the nature of flow in the gap between the first two cylinders:dormant in the gap where fluid in the gap is motionless;symmetric in the gap where fluid in the gap behaves like a cavity flow;alternating in the gap where fluid in the gap is trapped but flaps up and down;wake in the gap where periodic vortices are shed in the gap;and bi-stable flow regime where vortices are shed in the gap for some time and then quasi-periodic twin vortices prevail for other times.A jump in values of hydrodynamic forces,pressure coefficient,Strouhal number,and Sherwood number is observed as pitch ratio increases due to change in flow *** high pitch ratio,a convectively unstable two-row vortical train is formed by the second *** cylinders immersed in the two-row vortical structures have no effect on flow structure downstream or upstream and portray poor scalar transfer *** effect of configuration size on flow structures is found not to be as prominent as that of pitch ratio.
