The introduction of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) has revolutionized the treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) and has dramatically improved the outcomes of patients. The use of monotherapy or combinations of ICIs targeting PD-1/PD-L1 and CTLA-4, as well as the addition of ICIs with tyrosine kinase inhibitors, has significantly enhanced the overall survival of mRCC patients. Despite these promising results, there remains a subset of patients who either do not respond to treatment (primary resistance) or develop resistance to therapy over time (acquired resistance). Understanding the mechanisms underlying the development of resistance to ICI treatment is crucial in the management of mRCC, as they can be used to identify new targets for innovative therapeutic strategies. Currently, there is an unmet need to develop new predictive and prognostic biomarkers that can aid in the development of personalized treatment options for mRCC patients. In this review, we summarize several mechanisms of ICI resistance in RCC, including alterations in tumor microenvironment, upregulation of alternative immune checkpoint pathways, and genetic and epigenetic changes. Additionally, we highlight potential strategies that can be used to overcome resistance, such as combination therapy, targeted therapy, and immune modulation.

An algorithm based on a sliding-mode adaptive observer is proposed for the effective control of dynamic voltage restorers(DVRs).Three single-phase voltage source converter-based topologies are implemented for the *** this control,frequency adaption is considered for estimating the phase angle,system frequency,and fundamental component of the disturbed input voltage *** estimated fundamental component of the supply voltage is used to generate the DVR reference load *** phase jump in the supply voltage is also considered for DVR compensation studies along with voltage sag,swell,and voltage *** this purpose,the gains of the proportional integral(PI)controllers used in this control algorithm are estimated using a nature-inspired optimization approach for the desired response.A moth flame optimization algorithm is implemented for PI controller gain tuning owing to the advantage of finding the best solution by each moth’s search and updating *** Matlab simulation and hardware testing,the performance of the DVR with an adaptive observer is found to be satisfactory for supply voltage sag,swell,phase jump,and voltage distortions.

Many-body interactions between polymer-grafted nanoparticles(NPs)play a key role in promoting their assembly into low-dimensional structures within polymer melts,even when the particles are spherical and isotropically ***,capturing such interactions in simulations of NP assembly is very challenging because explicit modeling of the polymer grafts and melt chains is highly computationally expensive,even using coarse-grained ***,we develop a many-body potential for describing the effective interactions between spherical polymer-grafted NPs in a polymer matrix through a machine-learning *** approach involves using permutationally invariant polynomials to fit two-and three-body interactions derived from the potential of mean force *** potential developed here reduces the computational cost by several orders of magnitude,thereby,allowing us to explore assembly behavior over large length and time *** show that the potential not only reproduces previously known assembled phases such as 1D strings and 2D hexagonal sheets,which generally cannot be achieved using isotropic two-body potentials,but can also help discover interesting phases such as networks,clusters,and *** demonstrate how each of these assembly morphologies intrinsically arises from a competition between two-and three-body *** approach for deriving many-body effective potentials can be readily extended to other colloidal systems,enabling researchers to make accurate predictions of their behavior and dissect the role of individual interaction energy terms of the overall potential in the observed behavior.

This study proposes a control algorithm based on synchronous reference frame theory with unit templates instead of a phase locked loop for grid-connected photovoltaic(PV)solar system,comprising solar PV panels,DC-DC converter,controller for maximum power point tracking,resistance capacitance ripple filter,insulated-gate bipolar transistor based controller,interfacing inductor,linear and nonlinear *** dynamic performance of the grid connected solar system depends on the effect operation of the control algorithm,comprising two proportional-integral *** controllers estimate the reference solar-grid currents,which in turn generate pulses for the three-leg voltage source *** grey wolf optimization algorithm is used to optimize the controller gains of the proportional-integral controllers,resulting in excellent performance compared to that of existing optimization *** compensation for neutral current is provided by a star-delta transformer(non-isolated),and the proposed solar PV grid system provides zero voltage regulation and eliminates harmonics,in addition to load *** power extraction from the solar panel is achieved using the incremental conductance algorithm for the DC-DC converter supplying solar power to the DC bus capacitor,which in turn supplies this power to the grid with improved dynamics and *** solar system along with the control algorithm and controller is modeled using Simulink in Matlab 2019.

Recent advancements in perovskites’ application as a solar energy harvester have been astonishing. The power conversion efficiency(PCE) of perovskite solar cells(PSCs) is currently reaching parity(>25 percent), an accomplishment attained over past decades. PSCs are seen as perovskites sandwiched between an electron transporting material(ETM) and a hole transporting material(HTM). As a primary component of PSCs, HTM has been shown to have a considerable effect on solar energy harvesting, carrier extraction and transport, crystallization of perovskite, stability, and price. In PSCs, it is still necessary to use a *** perovskites are capable of conducting holes, they are present in trace amounts, necessitating the use of an HTM layer for efficient charge extraction. In this review, we provide an understanding of the significant forms of HTM accessible(inorganic, polymeric and small molecule-based HTMs), to motivate further research and development of such materials. The identification of additional criteria suggests a significant challenge to high stability and affordability in PSC.

Metal oxide semiconductor（MOS） device down-scaling is a powerful driving force for the evolution of microelectronics. The downsizing rate of metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors（MOSFETs） is really marvelous. Silicon dioxide（SiO2） has served as a perfect gate dielectric for the last four decades. Due to physical limitations, leakage current, high interface trap charge it now needs to be replaced with higher permittivity dielectric material. Keeping the motivation for the search of high-k materials, extensive studies have been carried out on several metal oxides, such as ZrO2, Ta2O5, TiO2, Al2O3and HfO2for the replacement of SiO2. The high dielectric constant（k） of titanium dioxide（TiO2） will open multifaceted prospects for the use of this material in microelectronic devices. In this paper, a comparative study of various deposition methods for fabrication of thin TiO2films has been presented. This work uses a combination of simulation results, experimental data and critical analysis of published data. Further, an experiment using sol-gel method has been carried out to deposit thin films of TiO2. It has been characterized and compared with the earlier reported fabrication methods. The X-ray diffraction analyses and Raman spectra indicate the presence of anatase TiO2phase in the film. The dielectric constant as calculated using capacitance-voltage（C-V） analysis was found to be 23. The refractive index of the film was *** TiO2films studied for microelectronic applications and present acceptable properties such as low leakage current density of 1.0×10–5A/cm at 1 V and band gap of 3.6 eV. The leakage current has been found to be dominant by the Schottky emission at lower electric field, while Flower-Nordheim（F-N） tunneling occurs at higher biasing voltages.

Graphene coatings for corrosion resistance of nickel and copper in acidic,alkaline and neutral environments

Graphene coatings have been reported to provide impressive corrosion resistance to nickel(Ni)and copper(Cu),because of remarkable characteristics of inertness and impermeablity of ***,as the earlier investigations have generally been carried out in chloride environment,and it is important to understand the performance of graphene coating also in more aggressive environments such as acids and *** study investigated the electrochemical corrosion behaviour of bare and graphene-coated(by chemical vapour deposition(CVD))Ni and Cu in 0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4),0.1 M NaCl and 0.5 M NaOH *** tests and post corrosion characterisation revealed the improvement in the corrosion resistance of Ni due to multilayer graphene coating to be similar in the three solutions,i.e.,the robustness of the barrier property of the multilayer graphene is largely unaffected by the aggressiveness of the corrosive ***,the improvement in corrosion resistance of bare Ni due to multilayer graphene is considerably greater(nearly 3 orders of magnitude)in the most aggressive of the test solutions(0.5 M H_(2)SO_(4)).The improvement is considerably less in 0.5 M NaOH because bare Ni develops a robust passive layer in highly alkaline *** improvement in corrosion resistance of bare Cu is limited(within an order of magnitude)in the three solutions because Cu develops only 1-2 layers of graphene.

Developing a Computer Program for Detailed Study of Planing Hull＇s Spray Based on Morabito＇s Approach

Recently, Morabito(2010) has studied the water spray phenomena in planing hulls and presented new analytical equations. However, these equations have not been used for detailed parametric studies of water spray around planing hulls. In this paper, a straight forward analysis is conducted to apply these analytical equations for finding the spray geometry profile by developing a computer program based on presented computational process. The obtained results of the developed computer program are compared against existing data in the literature and favorable accuracy is achieved. Parametric studies have been conducted for different physical parameters. Positions of spray apex are computed and three dimensional profiles of spray are examined. It is concluded that spray height increases by an increase in the speed coefficient or the deadrise angle. Ultimately, a computational process is added to Savitsky's method and variations of spray apex are computed for different velocities. It is shown that vertical, lateral, and longitudinal positions of spray increase as the craft speed increases. On the other hand, two new angles are defined in top view and it is concluded that they have direct relation with the trim angle. However, they show inverse relation with the deadrise angle.

Melatonin is a hormone which is produced from pineal gland in human and is said to have various impacts in human body like controlling sleep wake cycle, regulating the immune and cardiovascular system and regulating the peripheral organ functioning to name a few. Researchers have reported that the melatonin levels correlates with cancer risks. In this review article, focus has been given to the therapeutic applications and impact of melatonin hormone in human behavior and physiologic activities. Through this article we aim in compiling the scattered information regarding melatonin and its various aspects of importance in human system. We made an analysis of existing hypothesis and studies published on melatonin and circadian rhythm, factors effecting Melatonin secretions in body, sleep disturbances and cancer risks and melatonin therapy in cancer patients. Melatonin’s role as an endogenous synchronizer, growing evidence suggests its anti-oxidative activity as well as its having a role in modulating immune responses. Fluctuating melatonin levels can be boosted by ingesting products containing melatonin. A large portion of the examinations detailed by the researchers clearly conclude that keeping up an impeccable sleep-wake cycle and having a healthy diet is extremely important to keep up the regular melatonin levels and in order to stay fit. Melatonin is considered as a critical hormone that controls and regulates many functions in our body. Melatonin production is emphatically related to the night time duration. Its most absolute biological role is to convey information to the body about day length for a variety of physiologic functions. In addition to melatonin’s role as an endogenous synchronizer, growing evidence suggests its anti-oxidative activity as well as its having a role in modulating immune responses. At present, a growing interest is focused on the validity of the anti-tumor mechanisms of melatonin.
