Cancer is an abnormal state of cells where they undergo uncontrolled proliferation and produce aggressive malignancies that causes millions of deaths every *** the new understanding of the molecular mechanism(s)of disease progression,our knowledge about the disease is snowballing,leading to the evolution of many new therapeutic regimes and their successive *** the past few decades,various combinations of therapies have been pro-posed and are presently employed in the treatment of diverse *** drug therapy,immunotherapy,and personalized medicines are now largely being employed,which were not common a few years *** field of cancer discoveries and therapeutics are evolving fast as cancer type-specific biomarkers are progressively being identified and several types of cancers are nowadays undergoing systematic therapies,extending patients’disease-free survival *** growing evidence shows that a systematic and targeted approach could be the future of cancer medicine,chemotherapy remains a largely opted therapeutic option despite its known side effects on the patient’s physical and psychological ***-apeutic agents/pharmaceuticals served a great purpose over the past few decades and have remained the frontline choice for advanced-stage malignancies where surgery and/or radiation therapy cannot be prescribed due to specific *** present report succinctly reviews the existing and contemporary advancements in chemotherapy and assesses the status of the enrolled drugs/pharmaceuticals;it also comprehensively discusses the emerging role of specific/targeted therapeutic strategies that are presently being employed to achieve better clinical success/survival rate in cancer patients.

Diagenesis,facies and palaeocurrent analysis of Upper Rewa Sandstone around Sagar,Central India

The stratigraphic surface represented by a major contact between the Archean Bundelkhand Granite and the extensive Proterozoic Vindhyan sediments is a regional basement cover *** crystalline—sedimentary interface reflects an intense weathering of continental crust during marine *** time-transgressive sand deposition events ***,Rewa and Bhander are mainly witnessed during the entire Vindhyan ***,the Upper Rewa Sandstone comprises one of these events in the Vindhyan *** progress has been made in interpreting these sandstones as a function of entirely marine process to a combination of tidal—fluvio—eolian *** the results have so far been attained on the basis of sedimentary facies,provenance,palaeocurrent analysis,and some of petrography.A distinct differentiation between marine and fluvial components of the Upper Rewa Sandstone still remains ***,we use diagenesis as a parameter for the first time along with facies and palaeocurrent analysis to acquire a clear comprehension of marine-and fluvial-dominated *** present study spans 27 square kilometer area covering 15 stratigraphic sections with a collection of 571directional data from the facies specific sedimentary structures,and 28 samples obtained for the thin section *** lower unit of the Upper Rewa Sandstone shows facies association typical of tidal environment,along with polymodal *** rocks are well sorted and dominantly lithified by authigenic *** development of a complex of syntaxial,passive pore fills,and grain replacive cements reflect normally pressured nature of the lower unit *** upper unit of the Upper Rewa Sandstone however,reveals a facies pattern resembling fluvial processes and unimodal palaeocurrent *** exhibit poor sorting,siliceous,and ferruginous matrix,and development of intense ***,pressure solution is a dominant mode of l

Intensification of photocatalytic decomposition of water by ultrasound

Photocatalysis of water with and without ultrasound was studied using rGO supported CdS catalyst utilizing visible light. A higher hydrogen production was observed when ultrasound was used. This is attributed to a faster removal of bubbles of hydrogen from the surface of photocatalyst due to the mechanical energy associated with ultrasound overcoming surface tension. It has been further reported that the rate of hydrogen production decreased with time due to reversible deactivation of catalyst. This has been attributed to decrease in rate of hydrogen desorption with time.

Deep convolutional neural network models for weed detection in polyhouse grown bell peppers

Conventional weed management approaches are inefficient and non-suitable for integration with smart agricultural *** identification and classification of weeds can play a vital role in weed management contributing to better crop *** and smart spot-spraying system's efficiency relies on the accuracy of the computer vision based detectors for autonomous weed *** the present study,feasibility of deep learning based techniques(Alexnet,GoogLeNet,InceptionV3,Xception)were evaluated in weed identification from RGB images of bell pepper *** models were trained with different values of epochs(10,20,30),batch sizes(16,32),and hyperparameters were tuned to get optimal *** overall accuracy of the selected models varied from 94.5 to 97.7%.Among the models,InceptionV3 exhibited superior performance at 30-epoch and 16-batch size with a 97.7%accuracy,98.5%precision,and 97.8%*** this Inception3 model,the type 1 error was obtained as 1.4%and type II error was 0.9%.The effectiveness of the deep learning model presents a clear path towards integrating them with image-based herbicide applicators for precise weed management.

Prediction of Alzheimer’s Using Random Forest with Radiomic Features

Alzheimer’s disease is a non-reversible,non-curable,and progressive neurological disorder that induces the shrinkage and death of a specific neuronal population associated with memory formation and *** is a frequently occurring mental illness that occurs in about 60%–80%of cases of *** is usually observed between people in the age group of 60 years and *** upon the severity of symptoms the patients can be categorized in Cognitive Normal(CN),Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI)and Alzheimer’s Disease(AD).Alzheimer’s disease is the last phase of the disease where the brain is severely damaged,and the patients are not able to live on their *** is an approach to extracting a huge number of features from medical images with the help of data characterization ***,105 number of radiomic features are extracted and used to predict the alzhimer’*** paper uses Support Vector Machine,k-Nearest Neighbour,Gaussian Naïve Bayes,eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost)and Random Forest to predict Alzheimer’s *** proposed random forest-based approach with the Radiomic features achieved an accuracy of 85%.This proposed approach also achieved 88%accuracy,88%recall,88%precision and 87%F1-score for AD ***,it achieved 72%accuracy,73%recall,72%precisionand 71%F1-score for AD *** and it achieved 69%accuracy,69%recall,68%precision and 69%F1-score for MCI *** comparative analysis shows that the proposed approach performs better than others approaches.

Geochemistry and hydrocarbon source rock potential of shales from the Palaeo-Mesoproterozoic Vindhyan Supergroup, central India

With increase in shale gas exploration, inorganic and organic geochemical investigations of shale have become extremely important. Here, we explore the six argillaceous (shale) intervals (Arangi, koldaha, Rampur, Bijaygarh, Rewa and Sirbu shale) from Son valley sector, Vindhyan Basin with an aim to understand provenance conditions, palaeoclimate, tectonic setting and hydrocarbon generation potential. Whole rock geochemistry indicates Vindhyan sediments derived from felsic source(s) except for Sirbu shale that indicates additional influx of mafic rocks with differentiated felsic source. A comparative study of Vindhyan shale rare earth elements (REEs) points to Mahakoshals and Chhotanagpur gneissic complex (CGC) as probable sediment provenance for Vindhyan sediments. CIA analysis, after necessary corrections for k-metasomatism, suggests evolution in weathering and palaeoclimate indicating a transformation from moderate weathering conditions with warm and humid climate during lower Vindhyan deposition to intense weathering conditions with hot and humid climate during upper Vindhyan deposition. Trace (La/Y vs. Sc/Cr) and REE analysis indicates passive margin setting for Vindhyan sediments whereas a wide range spanning passive to active continental margin setting is also inferred using (Th-Sc-Zr/10) and (Th–La-Sc) ternary diagrams. However, these tectonic discriminant diagrams lack in explaining rift- or sag-related origin of any intracratonic basin such as the Vindhyan Basin. The total organic carbon (TOC) content in Vindhyan shales ranges from 0.29% to 8.44%. The thermally liberated hydrocarbon (S1) values range from 0.01 to 0.18 mg HC/g rock (milligram hydrocarbon per gram of rock sample), whereas hydrocarbon from cracking of the kerogen (S2) shows values ranging from 0.04 to 0.47 mg HC/g rock.
