The intact data transmission to the authentic user is becoming crucial at every moment in the current era.Steganography;is a technique for concealing the hidden message in any cover media such as image,video;and audio to increase the protection of data.The resilience and imperceptibility are improved by choosing an appropriate embedding position.This paper gives a novel system to immerse the secret information in different videos with different methods.An audio and video steganography with novel amalgamations are implemented to immerse the confidential auditory information and the authentic user’s face image.A hidden message is first included in the audio from the multimedia file;using LSB Technique.The Stego-video is created in the second stage by merging the authorized user’s face into the frame of the video;by using PVD technology.Stego-audio is linked again with the stego-video in the third stage.The incorporated perspective techniques(LSB-SS and PVD-SS algorithms)with more significant data immersing capacity,good robustness and imperceptibility are proposed in this research work.The spread spectrum approach is used to increase the complexity of secret data recognition.Two different video files are tested with different voice files with the results such as PSNR,SSIM,RMSE and MSE as 52.3,0.9963,0.0024 and 0.0000059,respectively.

In the past few decades,climatic changes led by environmental pollution,the emittance of greenhouse gases,and the emergence of brown energy utilization have led to global warming.Global warming increases the Earth’s temperature,thereby causing severe effects on human and environmental conditions and threatening the livelihoods of millions of people.Global warming issues are the increase in global temperatures that lead to heat strokes and high-temperature-related diseases during the summer,causing the untimely death of thousands of people.To forecast weather conditions,researchers have utilized machine learning algorithms,such as autoregressive integrated moving average,ensemble learning,and long short-term memory network.These techniques have been widely used for the prediction of temperature.In this paper,we present a swarm-based approach called Cauchy particle swarm optimization(CPSO)to find the hyperparameters of the long shortterm memory(LSTM)network.The hyperparameters were determined by minimizing the LSTM validationmean square error rate.The optimized hyperparameters of the LSTM were used to forecast the temperature of Chennai City.The proposed CPSO-LSTM model was tested on the openly available 25-year Chennai temperature dataset.The experimental evaluation on MATLABR2020a analyzed the root mean square error rate and mean absolute error to evaluate the forecasted output.The proposed CPSO-LSTM outperforms the traditional LSTM algorithm by reducing its computational time to 25 min under 200 epochs and 150 hidden neurons during training.The proposed hyperparameter-based LSTM can predict the temperature accurately by having a root mean square error(RMSE)value of 0.250 compared with the traditional LSTM of 0.35 RMSE.

Objective: Lung cancer is one of the leading cancers and major causes of cancer mortality worldwide. The economic burden associated with the high mortality of lung cancer is high, which accounts for nearly $180 billion on a global scale in 2008. This paper aims to understand the economic burden of lung cancer in terms of disability adjusted life years(DALY) in Australia, the Philippines, and Singapore.Methods: The years of life lost(YLL) and years lost due to disability(YLD) were calculated using the formula developed by Murray and Lopez in 1996 as part of a comprehensive assessment of mortality and disability for diseases, injuries and risk factors in 1990 and projected to 2020. The same formula is represented in the Global Burden of Disease template provided by the World Health Organization. Appropriate assumptions were made when data were unavailable and projections were performed using regression analysis to obtain data for 2015.Results: The total DALYs due to lung cancer in Australia, the Philippines, and Singapore were 91,695, 38,584, and 12,435,respectively, and the corresponding DALY rates per a population of 1,000 were 4.0, 0.4, and 2.2, respectively, with a discount rate of 3%. When researchers calculated DALYs without the discount rate, the burden of disease increased substantially; the DALYs were 117,438 in Australia, 50,977 in the Philippines, and 16,379 in Singapore. Overall, YLL or premature death accounted for more than 95% of DALYs in these countries.Conclusions: Strategies for prevention, early diagnosis, and prompt treatment must be devised for diseases where the major burden is due to mortality.

This paper gives a statistical view about important contributions and advances on semiconductor metal oxide （SMO） compounds based gas sensors developed to detect the air pollutants such as liquefied petroleum gas （LPG）, H2S, NH3, CO2, acetone, ethanol, other volatile compounds and hazardous gases. Moreover, it is revealed that the alloy/composite made up of SMO gas sensors show better gas response than their counterpart single component gas sensors, i.e., they are found to enhance the 4S characteristics namely speed, sensitivity, selectivity and stability. Improvement of such types of sensors used for detection of various air pollutants, which are reported in last two decades, is highlighted herein.

Efficacy of Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) after Multiple Subpial Transections (MST) for Extra-Temporal Seizure Foci

Background: The effect of Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) therapy following major resective surgeries has been reported. However, the effect of VNS therapy following multiple-subpial-transections (MST) has not been reported. The objective of this paper is to examine the beneficial effect of VNS therapy following MST. Methods: There are 22 patients aged 10 - 55 years. Male/female distribution is 11/11 and follow-up is 24 - 148 months (median of 120 months). Seizure foci were bilateral in 9 patients, multi-lobar (unilateral) in 12 patients and single-lobar in 1 patient. MST was performed over broad areas in and around the seizure foci. VNS implantation was done when the response to MST procedure was poor (1 patients), or there was recurrence of seizures (21 patients). Interval between MST and VNS implanttation varied from one month to three years (median of 2 years). Results: Thirteen patients (59%) are seizure free (Engel’ Class I), 8 (36.5%) have greater than 90% reduction in seizure frequency (Class II), and 1 (4.5%) has between 50% - 90% reduction in seizure frequency (Class III). Conclusion: The results show that VNS therapy produced meaningful improvement in seizure outcome in all patients with extra-temporal seizures that had inadequate response to MST.

Drainage and Cranioplasty as a Treatment for Traumatic Subdural Hygroma Secondary to Decompressive Craniectomy

Background: Decompressive craniectomy (DC) is performed to accommodate life-threatening brain swelling when medical treatment fails. This procedure carries the risk of developing traumatic subdural hygroma (TSH) that can adversely affect the neurological status of the patient. The treatment for persistence of TSH includes drainage and shunt placement or drainage and membranectomy. In this paper, we present treatment of two patients whose TSH was effectively treated with simple drainage and cranioplasty. Case Presentation: Patient 1: The patient is a 34-year-old female who had bilateral craniectomy for brain swelling. Four weeks later she became less interactive. CT scan showed bilateral subdural hygroma with 2 cm midline shift to the left. Her clinical status improved and CT scans showed resolution of the hygroma after simple evacuation of the hygroma and cranioplasty. Patient 2: The patient is a 57-year-old male who had post-traumatic acute subdural hematoma and brain swelling on the left side. The clot was evacuated and the bone flap was left out. After showing initial improvement, 10 weeks after the initial surgery the patient progressively worsened and became unresponsive. CT scans showed a large subdural hygroma on the right with midline shift to the left. Simple evacuation of the hygroma and cranioplasty was done. This resulted in radiological and clinical improvement of the patient. Conclusions: Both patients underwent simple drainage and cranioplasty, which resulted in clinical and radiological improvement. This finding suggests that other procedures such as membranectomy and shunting may not be necessary to treat TSH.

Introduction: Traditionally radiofrequency ablation of the trigeminal ganglion is performed using fluoroscopy and under heavy sedation. Intra-operative stimulation studies are used in order to confirm the presence of the probe tip in the appropriate division. Unfortunately, in older patients it becomes challenging to transition between heavy sedation (for probe insertion and lesion generation) and light sedation (for stimulation studies). To solve this problem, the authors describe a method in which the procedure was performed under general anesthesia and appropriate needle position was confirmed by intraoperative CT scans. Furthermore, to make the procedure more accurate a stereotactic frame was used. Methods: Eleven procedures were performed on 10 patients from 2012-2015 with a median follow-up of 21 months. The age range of the patients was 33 - 90 years (median of 55), and with a male to female ratio of 6:4. Ablations were accomplished on the 3rd division in five patients, the 2nd division in three patients, and 2nd and 3rd divisions in two patients (one of them underwent bilateral procedures). The procedures were performed under general anesthesia, using a.patil stereotactic frame on the CT table. The center of the foramen ovale was chosen as the target. The probe insertion point was approximately 2.5 cm lateral to the angle of the mouth. To place the probe tip in the 3rd division it was advanced through the foramen ovale into the trigeminal ganglion until its tip was 5 mm anterior to the clival plane. To place it in the 2nd division, it was advanced until it was in the clival plane. The probe had an exposed tip of 8 mm and heating was done at 75?C for 60 seconds. Results: Nine patients are pain-free;one patient, who had atypical facial pain did not benefit from the procedure;and one patient (with bilateral pain) has hyperesthesia on one side. Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) for Pain Control in a Quadriplegic Patient: A Case Report

Background: There are reports of pain relief from spinal cord stimulation (SCS) in patients with incomplete spinal cord injuries. However, the results for pain relief from SCS in patients with complete spinal cord injury are dismal. Patients with complete spinal cord injury therefore are generally not considered suitable candidates for SCS. The authors report a case in which a quadriplegic patient with cervical spinal cord injury got significant pain relief from spinal cord stimulation. Methods: The patient is 41 years old with quadriplegia secondary to C5-6 injury. He has no function below the level of the injury except for a few patchy areas of sensation. Ten years after the injury the patient had hemorrhoidectomy. This resulted in severe pain in the anal pain. The treatment for pain failed conservative treatment. He however did have good response to a trial of spinal cord stimulation through an epidural lead placed at T8-T9 vertebral body level. Permanent implantation of spinal cord stimulator was therefore performed. Results: At preoperative evaluation the patient rated his pain as a 7/10. Presently at 2 years’ follow-up the patient rates his pain at 1/10. Conclusions: Spinal cord stimulation proved to be a successful means of achieving adequate pain relief in a patient who had complete loss of motor function below the level of the injury. Therefore, although patients with such condition are unlike to benefit from SCS it is worthwhile trying this treatment if no other option is available there.

This study was undertaken to assess and compare bone mineral density in nondiabetic and controlled diabetic subjects using cone beam computed tomography. A group of 60 completely edentulous patients, comprising of 30 nondiabetic and 30 controlled type 2 diabetics between the age group of 45 - 75 years, were enrolled in the study. Glycemic control of the diabetics was assessed using glycosylated hemoglobin test and level between 6.1% - 8% was considered controlled. A radiographic stent was fabricated for each patient by using chemically cured transparent acrylic resin. Bone densities at trabecular, buccal and lingual cortical regions of maxillary and mandibular ridges were measured by a cone beam tomography machine in Hounsfield units. The data thus obtained at 10 prospective oral implant sites of maxillary and mandibular ridges were tabulated and analyzed using STATA, version 14.0 statistical software. This study results showed no significant changes in the bone mineral density between the nondiabetic and controlled diabetic subjects. Within the limitations of this study, it can be concluded that bone mineral density does not seem to be affected in controlled type 2 diabetic patients.
