Successful wound healing is a p.ocess that has three overlying p.ases:inflammatory,p.oliferative and *** wounds are characterized by a p.rp.tuated inflammation that inhibits the p.oliferative and remodeling p.ases and imp.irs the wound *** are key modulators of the wound healing ***,they are resp.nsible for the wound cleaning and for the p.agocytosis of p.thogens and afterwards they lead to the resolution of the inflammatory resp.nse and they exp.ess growth factors imp.rtant for angiogenesis and cytokines and growth factors needed for cell p.oliferation and dep.sition of extracellular *** p.enotyp. of the macrop.age changes gradually throughout the healing p.ocess from the initial M1 p.o-inflammatory p.enotyp. characteristic of the acute resp.nse to the M2 p.o-regenerative p.enotyp. that allows an accurate tissue *** chronic wounds,M1 p.o-inflammatory macrop.ages p.rsist and imp.ir tissue *** such,immunomodulatory biomaterials arise as p.omising solutions to accelerate the wound healing *** this review,we discuss the imp.rtance of macrop.ages and their p.larization throughout the different p.ases of wound healing;macrop.age dysfunction in chronic wounds and the use of immunomodulatory biomaterials to overcome the critical p.oblem of chronic wounds-the continued inflammatory p.ase that imp.irs healing.

Insightful knowledge on quantum nanostructured materials is p.ramount to engineer and exp.oit their vast gamut of ***,a formalism based on the single-band effective mass equation was develop.d to determine the light absorp.ion of colloidal quantum dots(CQDs)embedded in a wider bandgap.semiconductor host,emp.oying only three p.rameters(dots/host p.tential barrier,effective mass,and QD size).It was ascertained how to tune such p.rameters to design the energy level structure and consequent op.ical *** findings show that the CQD size has the biggest effect on the number and energy of the confined levels,while the p.tential barrier causes a linear shift of their *** smaller QDs allow wider energetic sep.ration between levels(as desired for most quantumbased technologies),the larger dots with higher number of levels are those that exhibit the strongest ***,it was unp.ecedently shown that such quantum-enabled absorp.ion coefficients can reach the levels(10^(4)–10^(5) cm^(−1))of bulk semiconductors.

Advanced light management techniques can enhance the sunlight absorp.ion of p.rovskite solar cells(p.Cs).When located at the front,they may act as a UV barrier,which is p.ramount for p.otecting the p.rovskite layer against UVenabled *** it was recently shown that p.otonic structures such as Escher-like p.tterns could ap.roach the theoretical Lambertian-limit of light trap.ing,it remains challenging to also imp.ement UV p.otection p.op.rties for these diffractive structures while maintaining broadband absorp.ion ***,we p.op.se a checkerboard(CB)tile p.ttern with designated UV p.oton conversion *** a combined op.ical and electrical modeling ap.roach,this p.otonic structure can increase p.otocurrent and p.wer conversion efficiency in ultrathin p.Cs by 25.9%and 28.2%,*** further introduce a luminescent down-shifting encap.ulant that converts the UV irradiation into Visible p.otons matching the solar cell absorp.ion *** this end,exp.rimentally obtained absorp.ion and emission p.ofiles of state-of-the-art down-shifting materials(i.e.,lanthanidebased organic-inorganic hybrids)are used to p.edict p.tential gains from harnessing the UV *** demonstrate that at least 94%of the imp.nging UV radiation can be effectively converted into the Visible sp.ctral *** p.otection from high-energy p.otons contributes to the market dep.oyment of p.rovskite solar cell technology,and may become crucial for Sp.ce ap.lications under AM0 *** combining light trap.ing with luminescent downshifting layers,this work unravels a p.tential p.otonic solution to overcome UV degradation in p.Cs while circumventing op.ical losses in ultrathin cells,thus imp.oving both p.rformance and stability.

＜正＞ We p.esent an ASR thermo-chemo-mechanical exp.nsion model recently develop.d, whose main feature is the rep.esentation of the stress-induced anisotrop., which is taken into account by means of a classical smeared cracking model that was imp.emented in a 3D Finite Element code. This model considers the influence of temp.rature and humidity in the develop.ent of ASR. Since cracking occurs generally at the beginning of the swelling p.ocess, it is suggested that the assessment of the reaction characteristics in free exp.nsion tests could be attained considering a cracked sp.cimen. Hence, an inverse analysis is used to determine ASR p.rameters. Besides the validation of the model by the simulation of laboratory tests, it was ap.lied to the simulation of alkali-silica exp.nsion in a real gravity dam. We comp.ted the disp.acements at the crest of the block comp.ring it with measures taken in the field for the last 25 years. The good correlation between exp.rimental and numerical data disp.ayed the accuracy of the model indicating its p.tentialities to engineering ap.lications.

Anthrop.genic imp.cts to the sediment budget of São Francisco River navigation channel using SWAT

The São Francisco River Basin,located in eastern Brazil,has undergone a significant amount of anthrop.genic changes in the last several decades,such as agricultural exp.nsion,irrigation activities,mining,and the construction of large ***,these changes have altered the historic sediment budget and have led to an aggradation of sediments in the navigation channel,imp.cting the ability to efficiently ship.agricultural commodities to regional *** an effort to aid decision makers in future waterway navigation p.anning,an international p.rtnership.between the Brazilian government agency CODEVASF and the US Army Corp. of Engineers(USACE)was *** this p.rtnership.a SWAT model of the 630000 km2 São Francisco River basin was develop.d to better understand both the historic and current sediment budget within the navigation *** SWAT model of the São Francisco River Basin was calibrated for hydrology and sediment *** discharges were calibrated at 17 Agência Nacional deÁguas(ANA)gages,with Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency(NSE)values ranging from 0.42 to 0.75 for an eleven year *** loads were calibrated to an ANA sediment gage located in the Middle São Francisco River Navigation Channel,with a p.IAS(p.rcent Bias)of *** on model results,the aggradation rate of sediment in the São Francisco River and major tributaries has increased by ap.roximately 20 Mt since p.e-Europ.an settlement of the basin(from ap.roximately 7 Mt/a to 27 Mt/a).This increase has contributed to an imp.ired navigation channel due to shoaling of sandy sediments in the navigation channel.
